It can be uncomfortable just to be standing in that kind of weather, let alone doing cardio for an hour plus. Honestly, this seems irresponsible to me, and I'm confused by the fact that they don't seem to be concerned about heat stroke. There are definitely days when the only reason I don't go to class is because there's no AC. I also wish they had contemporary classes (they have one "contemporary modern" once a week, which is not the same as contemporary).

It is fantastic for both recreational students as well as for preparing the more serious dancers for competition, college dance teams, and professional dancing. The studio is clean and pretty and in a convenient location off Rt 1& 138 at the Tower (aka near smoothies and donuts lol), and honestly, it's worth our 25 minute drive from our town. Parents are able to watch their kids through the viewing window in each of the two studios, or just sit and chill during class on the comfy couch, chat with other parents, or watch the sunset from the chairs on the quieter side, or they can feel safe leaving their children in the teachers' care while running errands. The Teachers are kind, fun, and loving, but also stern and get down to business when they need to be. They really know how to keep the fun and joy in dancing. Val has a way of making each kid feel special and each parent feel like her best friend. And the recitals.... Just wow! They put on such an amazing performance, and a video copy of the show and professional action digital photos are included with your ticket!! I am in awe at the high skill level, perfection, beauty, and sass of all numbers, but especially the older dancers and the teams. I have been moved to tears or clapped and cheered in excitement with so many numbers. My youngest and I usually even stay to watch to second showtime to see all of the other routines because we love it so much and have so much fun at the shows. So impressed with Val and her studio; can't recommend it enough.

I hired 4 lyrical dancers from Urbanity Dance to perform freestyle solos as part of a surprise…read moreflash mob proposal for my partner, and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. The dancers were super professional, dressed elegantly, and really breathed life into the song that the orchestra (hired from a separate company) played. I paid a flat rate per dancer, which included the performance and 50 minutes of rehearsal time before the proposal to give the dancers a chance to rehearse with the orchestra since they had not worked together before; Urbanity Dance was worth every penny and then some! The final performance was exactly what I had envisioned, and I especially appreciated that the dancer who performed last (Joy) finished her solo with a "lyrical invitation" for my partner and I to follow her to the predetermined proposal spot - this aligned perfectly with the music as it was fading out, and allowed for perfect photography/videography coverage - plus the two of us were in such a daze as everything was happening that we definitely needed the clear guidance Joy provided. Big big thank you to my POC, Cayley, and each of the dancers who made this possible: Genny, Katie, Haley, and Joy.

Over time, my daughter has not only learned how to dance, but she has learned responsibility, time management, and the importance of "showing up." I do not sugar coat anything and can say that this studio is not perfect...but this is because none of them are. It is about finding the right fit for each dance family. All parents have their frustrations, at any studio. This studio, like so many others, has rules and policies in place for a reason. We are glad they do. Also find comfort in knowing they keep the best interest of our dance community top of mind.

We are a multiracial, interfaith and interabled family and we have always found an inclusive atmosphere. Every experience is different, but we have not encountered any instances of racial or religious insensitivity. I would be thoroughly surprised if we did. This does not reflect the identity or values of this studio. The dance family at this studio, which not only includes staff but also the fellow dance moms/dads, have always been helpful and compassionate despite the personal challenges faced by our family. It's disheartening to see such negativity towards a studio that is a second home for our daughter. My daughter has not only grown as a dancer but has developed a strong sense of confidence and resilience from being on a dance team. Any concerns or difficulties we have encountered along the way have been met with a willingness to listen. I urge readers to not allow one negative review to overshadow the positive impact this studio brings.
