Here we go.......I have been a Patient for at least 6-7 years. Interesting Note...... I have had Dental Insurance up until January 2023. Every Cleaning which I have done Twice A Year my Whole Life with X-Rays whenever they said I needed them. All of a sudden I now needed a Crown and a Filling all of this Back in October 2023.....mind you every 6 Months a Cleaning and Exam. So they can't fit me in for this extended Procedure until November 1. Stupidly I didn't get a Second Opinion. Had trouble with this Permanent Crown since the day it was put in......went back once to adjust bite.....went back the Monday after Thanksgiving again adjust bite......Oh Dr. Gividen's says maybe your Tooth went South......REALLY..... remember FULL PAY PATI IENT NOW....... we should take an x-ray oh not now..........I said please see if this is infected as my cheek hurts when I touch where the gum line is.....not now....... Well it is now almost 2 months later......this is a Tooth that has never bothered me before!!!!! Well now the Tooth is annoying again after a month or so and there is a bump above my gum......I have Total Knee Replacements....all I did today was ask for an Appointment to make sure this Tooth with the Crown is not infected. Of course they are Closed tomorrow Friday. I told them I needed to be seen ......now all of a sudden the best they can do is Thursday......REALLY A WEEK.....If there is an INFECTION it could be really bad for someone like me with a Joint Replacement..... I was told go to Urgent Care if I was worried...... I WILL NOT USE THIS DENTAL PRACTICE AGAIN! NO PROBLEMS WITH MY TOOTH UNTIL THIS...... Both my husband and I are NOT fans of going to the dentist. In fact, the idea of going normally creates a great deal of stress & anxiety for us. But when we both started going to Canyon View Dental, specifically Dr. Stacy for dental and Brittney Wing for our cleaning, our experiences of going to the dentist changed-for the BETTER! First, the whole office from the reception area to the exam rooms, right down to the restrooms is spotless, gorgeous, and smells clean too! Secondly, Dr. Stacy is so classy and intelligent, explaining and showing everything she is doing to us. She always checks on our pain level and makes sure we are truly comfortable. By the way, they are "plumbed" for nitrous oxide if you require it (we do!)....Her dental assistant is also spectacular. She also constantly checked on our well being, and also took the time to explain things along the way. We've both also had our teeth cleaned by Brittney. She is first a breath of fresh air, and somehow makes getting your teeth clean seem like fun! She is thorough, professional, and friendly too. She is always happy and constructively offers ideas for us to improve our oral health. I'd recommend this place to anyone seeking a new dentist. Worst Experience!!! Anybody ever go to the dentist for a "simple tooth" extraction and have wks of misery & bone shards/pieces/spurs coming out of your gums & extraction site? I have, that's what happened when I saw Stacey. I had a tooth extracted on 3/21 (over 2 weeks ago) I am still having problems, I have a shattered socket & buckle plate. I saw her for then extraction then Stacey left town the following day & w/ nobody on call at the office (leaving the country making communication w/ her impossible)! So I reached out & spoke w/ Justin, Stacey's partner via text & no resolve/effort made, he was out of state! Advised I take IBU & seek care elsewhere. Stacey was very contradictory as to wether she talked to Justin or not, she stated she didn't know what him & I had discussed then next sentence she amazingly said something about what Justin & I discussed, so which is it?? Did you or did you not talk to him? I know full well she received my messages when she returned stateside & still didn't bother to follow up, check in, nothing. I was having issues w/ in 2 days of extraction (3/23). I had to seek care in Missoula from a new dentist for bone fragments & a broken socket. Prior to seeing him I was terrified because I had no idea what was happening. I have seen that dentist 3 times in an attempt to fix the issues caused. I will have add. visits due to more bone spurs, at this point who knows when it will be resolved! Pain has not ceased since day 1. I thought a follow up would happen when somebody, anybody got back into town, since this ALL started at their office w/ a "simple extraction" & they were fully aware of it. There was NO communication until 4/4 when I initiated contact w/ the office to discuss the situation. Both dentists knowing full well what had happened, no after care, no concern or regard for me, no effort made on their behalf. When I finally talked to Stacey on 4/4 I was assured it was a "simple extraction w/ no complications! Stacey assumes no liability/fault! I was simply looking for some sort of resolve or ownership of what happened, especially since multiple bills have been accrued along w/ the original bill. This process is not over & who knows how much more work is needed & how much more $ I will have to invest to fix this. I understand bone spurs happen but this is beyond that!! A shattered socket & buckle plate, is carelessness & excessive force when you crush bones near & around the implement & tooth. Lacking bone so likely now require a bone graft!! Conversation ended w/ shear frustration & no resolve or further care offered! I simply told her I am not going to continue arguing/discussing w/ her because she clearly had no empathy/compassion & the convo. was going nowhere! Stacey is Clearly in the business to make $$ at any means possible, not offered a discount, check up, nothing! I have have missed work (lost wages) to have add. dentist visits. -1st visit to Missoula dentist 4 bone fragments removed, largest 1/4+ inch long, a hole opened up below extraction site it started as a bump then ruptured resulting in protruding bone shards, they had to dig out pieces of bone. -2nd visit 2 more large bones extracted, hole had widened, obviously not healing!! -3rd visit- simply could not get all the shards out of my gums, you could rub my gums & hear/feel bone grinding. Had to cut open my gumline from existing hole & cut in front & behind it. So they could suction out small fragments & manually extract larger bone. Then used a file to smooth the jagged bone lying under the other teeth. Then he had to stitch it closed. Pain still remains! I now feel bone on the inside gumline against my tongue. The bills are ever mounting!!!!! I have no insurance! ** It's not even a matter of opinion it's FACTS and that what people need to know! These ARE FACTS! I told her I had X-rays and documentation from the other dentist and she had absolutely no interest in even entertaining the idea of simply looking at any of it. The list goes on but it won't fit! I scheduled an appointment for my partner and myself 2 months ago. We live in Missoula so we took time off of work and were going to drive 40minutes to our appointment. I received a call two weeks out from the date and was told they couldn't see us both on that day and that something came up. What is the point of an appointment 2 months in advanced if we are going to be bumped until OCTOBER two weeks out from when we were supposed to go? Now we are left scrambling to find another appointment sooner that will take our insurance, schedule us on the same day, and can actually keep an appointment. This is very unprofessional and expect more from an appointment than, "sorry better luck next time." read more

If you are a more holistic/natural family I would AVOID this practice. The ladies that work here are good, but Dr. Justin is rude and has terrible etiquette. If he wasn't in agreement with something I didn't want to do for my family, he was very condescending, would blame, and even huff and roll his eyes. Not only have I had an abscessed tooth after a filling here, but my child similarly had a tooth that wasn't appropriately filled the first time, get a deeper cavity behind the poorly done filling and then eventually abscessed and was pulled (by another dentist). I was very out spoken about not using metal (no metal fillings/crowns/caps) and he placed a silver filling in my child's tooth and told me the reason that the tooth was grey was because the sedative that he placed on the nerve, never was I told that he placed a silver filling which I was adamant about..."no metal". He blatantly lied to me about it. Find another family dentist and safe yourself the headache! read more

I was very strongly urged by Simmons to get an implant to replace a fractured molar. Despite a horrible 24/7 toothache, he also counselled me to wait as the oral surgeons "like" to pull and replace at the same time. I suffered with no pain meds while scheduling my own appt with oral surgeon. Contrary to information on their website, these are not done in house at least mine wasn't. My implant is failing and while the Missoula based surgeon will redo the implant at no charge, do not expect any financial relief from this office on the now useless crown sitting atop the implant. Many dollars and much frustration later, I face near 2k more to get a new crown... from a different practice of course. read more

I would NOT recommend to anyone! I went in for three fillings, but during the procedure Dr. Justin Simmons ended up drilling into the wrong tooth! He drilled into a healthy tooth that did not have a cavity, instead of drilling into one with a cavity. He tried to play it off like he had done me a favor. He tried to say that there actually was a cavity there, but when I asked him to prove it, to show me on the x-ray he said it was too small to show up! What a liar! There was no cavity, he was just trying to cover his mistake. Then he told me he wasn't going to charge me for that tooth...again like he was doing me a favor! Also, my wife took our children in for cleanings, and they put fluoride on their teeth without asking her, and when they told her about it she said no you should not have done that, they had that done last cleaning, (which had been done there) and our insurance will only cover it once a year. The hygienist lied to her and said oh no, don't worry we called your insurance and they said they were covered for fluoride twice a year. Well, a few weeks later we get a bill from them for fluoride treatment because our insurance did NOT cover it! They will say anything to cover their mistakes. I have been going to a dentist for cleaning and exams every 6 months for over 35 years and I have never had a more through and informative exam as I received with Dr. Stacy Simmons in June 2016. From the moment I walked into Canyon View Dental, everyone was extremely professional and very pleasant. This was my first visit to their office and I was there for a new patient exam and cleaning. The doctor's assistant was very through with her gathering of my history, taking X-rays, including digital pictures of my teeth, all while explaining everything she was doing. When Dr. Stacy came in, she was extremely professional and very through in her exam. She took several more digital pictures of my teeth, which she displayed on a monitor that she swung in front of me while I was still seated in the exam chair. She was very good at explaining her findings, pointing these findings out on the monitor, and what her recommendations were and why. Once my exam was completed, I moved over to another room where Presh did my cleaning. Presh was also extremely professional and very pleasant. I really believe the cleaning Presh performed was one of the best I had ever received. My teeth looked and felt awesome.
