Dr Shearer is so nice, she gives reasonable advice and looks at the issues for the patient instead of just applying the same formula to everyone. My son needed a palate expander and braces and she took her time explaining to him what would be needed for him to have a healthy mouth. Her staff always knows my son when we walk in and visits are usually very efficient. I highly recommend this office for any orthodontia needs. read more

We are visiting from out of town and my daughter had an orthodontic emergency. We walked in, hopeful that someone would help her even though we are not patients, and the staff was so helpful. They got her in the chair right away and fixed her broken wire that was causing her pain. They were so nice and accommodating and I would recommend this practice to anyone looking for good patient care. read more

I was referred to Dr. Madlock by my dentist 2 years ago. I can honestly say that I have never been treated more poorly by another human being. I have put off writing my review because I wanted to make sure that I could be fair in my review and not overly emotional. I was initially told that Dr. Madlock would not see me because I had medicaid but my dentist called and got me in. When Dr. Madlock came in to talk to me about my extraction he immediately told me that as a female I would not look attractive with a hole in my mouth (which he repeated several times). I told him that I would love to have an implant but could not afford it at this time. I was extremely grateful that he was willing to see me under the circumstances so I just let these comments slide. When I went in for the extraction he did not say "hello" or acknowledge me, instead he said "it makes me sick to pull out a tooth on someone this age and not replace it" and when the operation was finished he said "I recommend you get a crown on that last molar because the filling is huge and it is going to crack just like the other tooth" (knowing full well that this would not be covered under my insurance either and on a side note my regular dentist said the filling was fine). I got no directions as to what I needed to be aware of during the healing process, nothing else was said to me. After I left the office I had a stitch that was really big and started to experience more pain than I assumed was normal. Because my experience with Dr. Madlock had been so negative I went to my regular dentist who told me that I had dry socket and needed to call Dr. Madlock. I put off calling him because my experience up until this point had been so bad. I ended up going back in to see him and he told me that I had dry socket and needed a different antibiotic because the antibiotic I was on was not addressing the infection that had flared up. I went home and was leaving for a trip the next day so I realized that I probably needed to check up with him before I left on my trip. When I called his office I was told to text him, I did and at this point I received a phone call from Dr. Madlock. He thought that I was one of his assistants with a similar name so he went off about "this nutjob patient....." for several minutes. When he stopped talking I told him that he was talking to that patient. He immediately started to (for the first time since I'd seen him) act very concerned and address my concerns and said he thought I should come in and see him before I go on my trip, etc. I got off the phone with him and was in complete shock. He texted me twice before I sat down and wrote him a letter explaining how the entire experience had made me feel, I went over every step and the hurt that he had caused me. He responded by apologizing and saying that I am "a wonderful person" (which I could not take seriously seeing as how I had been treated) and that the charity he works with could help me get the implant I needed. I could not bring myself to show my face in his office again and did my follow up care at my regular dentist's office. I can honestly say that I had never and have never been treated so poorly by another human being (especially in the medical field). The entire experience was horrible. I have seen some good reviews for Dr. Madlock and am convinced that if he thinks you are worth his time then you will get good care, but if you don't meet his standards (whatever they may be) or don't have the money for an expensive operation then you will be treated as though you are a complete waste of his time. I was beyond disappointed with the care I got and the entire experience made me lose a little faith in humanity. It also made me question how genuine Dr. Madlock's charitable work (which he advertises on the front desk) truly is. I hope that since I saw him he has learned to care about his patients rather than just the money that they put in his pocket. read more

My treatment here was far from good. This orthodontists office has absolutely nothing together. Upon opening another practice, Dr Shearer completely lost interest in all of her previous clients. We saw a new dental assistant every time we went, that had no idea where I was in my treatment. Because of this and the lack of concern for previous patients, my treatment went on for 2 & a half years more than it should have. Granted I understand teeth may need adjustments, but there was a gap where it took them 6 months to order me proper pieces. 6 MONTHS! The staff themselves are nice everytime I went in, it's just the lack of communication between Dr, Shearer & her new hires that gets very frustrating. I would HIGHLY recommend going somewhere else with your business. My current orthodontist said this treatment should have taken me about 20 months not almost 4 & 1/2 years. This doctors communication business processes are very poor. I had an appointment for an initial consultation, and I received a call without a caller ID. I don't pick up caller IDs that I don't know because I get 4 to 5 spam calls per day. The voicemail they left said they called me to cancel my appointment the next day because of snow. I called them back to make another appointment, I got their voicemail that said they would not answer any voicemails for 24 hours. What kind of business can't pick up the phone and call back a customer when they leave a voicemail? So I called the day of the appointment got their voicemail again and the same 24 hour message.Obviously I'll be looking for another doctor. read more

Took my teenage daughter to get her wisdom teeth out and was beyond impressed from the moment I walked in. The staff is very professional and welcoming and answered any questions I had. The waiting area is comfortable. With that being said, there is a reason Dr. Madlock is a 5280 top dentist- he's awesome: thorough, patient, and genuinely interested in who he's treating. We even received a voicemail from him after surgery to check on our daughter. Don't waste time researching other dentists- this is a special place!! read more

I was sent to Canyon Point after just having a root canal. I still needed to have a hot tooth and nerve pulled due to the great pain I was in. I was grumpy and in pain. I was also frustrated to not knowing how much money all the procedures would cost me. The staff was very patient with me and they were solution focused. Sarah was awesome hearing me and she actually made sure all my concerns had been taken care of. To include she made sure that I received a treatment that they could of charged me a ton of money for. Dr. Madlock exceeded all my expectations. He was compassionate and funny knowing my state of mind and he was also very skilled and thorough completing my treatment. You can tell that he is very skilled and very passionate about his patients and services. I live downtown Denver but I feel that Canyon Point is more than worth the drive and extra miles to receive treatment at this office. I give the five out of five stars. - Michael L. read more

I went in to get a new retainer for my bottom teeth since mine broke, and I was treated extremely well here!! When I walked into my appointment, Yvonne was so kind and helpful, and they even had a "Welcome Celeste" sign up in the room (which has an amazing view of both North and South table I might add!). Being the daughter of a dentist, I had never been to another dental or orthodontic practice besides in my hometown (couldn't make the trip back home just to get a new retainer this time), so this was such an enjoyable experience to see this well-kept, organized, and streamline practice here in Golden! Awesome practice. As a hockey player and a kid with naturally crooked teeth, I've spent a lot of time with orthodontists so I have some experience to measure against. I found Canyon Point from their reviews and after interviewing three separate practices. Dr. Shearer and her team have great "bed-side" manner and are great at problem-solving for complex problems like my own.
