We called again a week in advance just to be sure and were told the same thing. THREE days in advance, we called again to reserve the shuttle for our wedding guests (to drive from the Stonefence to a cottage in Morristown, less than 10 miles away) and the man on the phone became indignant- insisting that we should have called before, although he said we could still reserve a shuttle. We called the entire day of our rehearsal dinner (day before wedding) and he was not answering at all! We were trying to get a confirmation number that would never exist, in order to ensure that our guests were safely transported from their hotel to our wedding venue. This is a level of customer service and extremely poor business practices that I am glad to say I have never been privy to. Thankfully no accidents resulted from it-- due to my own friends and family providing safe rides for other guests. While we were enjoying our time scrambling to find another shuttle service, during our rehearsal dinner (obviously we had nothing more important to be doing, right?) we received calls back from other services who laughed when they heard we tried to book G-man because they are "notorious" for going completely under the radar, last minute, for big events. I am an Ogdensburg native, and I believe that the area can be restored to what it once was, but "business practices" like this will only hold it back. This could have resulted in drunk driving crashes (possibly deaths) if it had happened to a less responsible group. I would also like to add, you probably would have made hundreds of dollars in tips, alone-- had you made responsible and ethical business decisions that weekend. I look forward to spreading the word about this-- the only thing that went wrong for my wedding.

There was a local freight train one night that went behind the motel at 1:30 am then at 4:30 am. I would have liked a heads up on that but it lasted 2-3 mins each time. Need to bring your hair dryer. The Inn is set back from US 11 so it is quieter and is well lit. One floor and parking lot is directly in front of the Inn. Each room door opens directly to the parking lot which makes bringing luggage to your room very easy. I parked directly in front of my room nd the car was about 8 feet from the door to the room. The water pressure is decent, there was a window air conditioner (can get very loud) with a remote and the flat screen TV had about 135 channels (some duplicates). There was a fridge in the room that didn't seem to get too cold as I had a bottle of water in it overnight that didn't feel very cold in the morning. The amenities are what you would expect with free WiFi (decent speed and connection) and soaps and a shampoo provided. The bed was satisfactory and the room was acceptably clean. The Potsdam Inn is older and could definately use some upgrading but for the price it works for a place to sleep. The breakfast was coffee or tea, bananas and clementines, packaged instant oatmeal, pre-packaged muffins and pastries. I was hoping for more fresh breakfast foods or some type of protein. The lighting in the room is ample and the windows cn be a pain to open and close. There was a window in the front facing the parking lot and street, a window in the bathroom and a window next to the air conditioner that took some manipulating to get closed and locked. Woods surround the Inn on the sides and back. There is a list of TV channels and nearby restaurants provided in each room. Nearby there is a Wal-Mart and a short drive brings you to many restaurants and small shops. I would stay here again knowing what to expect. The breakfast leaves something to desire and the rooms are outdated but for the price you get a pretty clean, quiet (besides the air conditioner) and comfortable room with a friendly staff.
