However, being in the healthcare profession, I am appalled that they do not have water carts and encourage drinking water to these elderly folks that are prone to UTIs. I also am very disappointed that the only beverage options that seem to be available are punch, sweet tea , Kool-Aid type of non-nutritional sugary drinks. Geriatric people need nutrition and this is not offering any nutrition and will rot their teeth out with no benefit. And lastly, I am slightly less concerned, but definitely disappointed that with memory care they need to have clear communication and very often there are Hispanic speaking people trying to get them to change their clothes or to help with toileting. Consequently, the language is not understood which makes it harder for the resident (that is not totally cognitively impaired ) to accept all the "hands-on" help. In retrospect, although the facilities are beautiful, I don't think the care is up to par and certainly not the nutrition. Providing water, being the least expensive option and an absolute in the health of geriatric patients and residents, should absolutely be encouraged and offered at all opportunities.

My father in law lived here for four months before he passed away…read more He was 84 and had some dementia, anxiety, and advanced emphasima -which eventually took him. He suffered servere anxiety attacks, had outbursts of fear and terror and was often inconsolable. Because of this, management demanded that the family hire an outside agency to sit with him at night (at extra cost) because that service isn't covered under their already exhorbitant fees. We did. But, rather than show compassion or pledge to help make this mans last days more comfortable, he was deemed a nusance. Joyce Mitchel, the resident "advocate" requested that the family make plans to relocate him, adding enormous stress to all involved. At this point he was evaluated and determined to be in need of hospice, - he passed within days. This facility claims that they supply caring and dignity to those in their most difficult days of life, but there are those at Canterbury who in my opinion, very much lack compassion, shirk responsibility and lust for their own convenience. We are disgusted.

My mother spent her last four years in the tower, in independent living. She had an unexpected and…read morerapid decline which led to my seeking her admittance to the health center on a Saturday. After several attempts to get information, I was left hanging with no one telling me whether any beds were available that day or whether anyone could be admitted on a Saturday. I turned to hospice, which responded immediately. When hospice tried to bring a hospital bed into my mother's apartment, however, the manager of Canterbury, Caridad Vinas, refused to allow it for reasons ranging from regular electrical blackouts to loss of licenses. I finally had to sign a piece of paper taking full responsibility for the bed. Ms. Vinas vowed to have my mother moved to the health center first thing Monday morning. When my mother died at 3:00 a.m. on Monday, I sent a message to Ms. Vinas letting her know that my mother had died and that hospice would be removing the bed. I never heard a word of condolence or anything else from her. During my mother's four years in the tower, she loved her apartment and loved her view, but we both found the management quirky. The facilities were full of potential hazards for the senior citizen population -- pot holes in the parking lot, slippery surfaces on the sidewalks, salty, fatty, and sugary food, no trainer in the fitness room, only intermittent classes on balance and strength training, and more. Scheduled outings left senior citizens at concert venues 45 minutes before the doors opened. My 89-year-old mother was once left at a concert venue late at night because she hadn't signed up for the bus. Information on construction projects, changes in routines, and more was impossible to come by. The monthly newsletter is printed in colors and fonts that are difficult for elderly eyes. My mother's one stint in the health center horrified her for many reasons, the biggest one being that the patients who needed assistance eating weren't given any and instead were left hungry.

I moved both of my parents into Allegro at the end of 2020 (during COVID)--it's been almost four…read moreyears later and when I look back it was one of the best decisions we ever made as a family. Not only is the facility clean and beautiful but every single person that works there is the best of the best...especially the nursing staff. They truly care and they truly put their heart into taking care of our loved ones. Both of my parents have stage 4 cancer along with other chronic conditions but they have thrived here because they get great care and all of their needs are met. The proximity to TGH is a blessing. Between the two of them, there are quite a few medical appointments -- but the Allegro driver takes care of transportation. There have been a few times that they needed around the clock care and/or emergency services and the team at Allegro took care of everything or made care plans -- the communication is always outstanding and transparent. It is wonderful to know that you can trust them. I can't begin to express how thankful I am for the peace of mind they have given me and I have knowing that there is a great community of caring staff, a great group of other residents and so many activities and outings. Because of them, I get to spend precious time with my parents... instead of trying to be their caregiver.

To Whom It May Concern,…read more I am filing this complaint to document the horrific experience my family endured due to the gross negligence and abandonment by LifePath Hospice during my father's final days. This organization utterly failed in every capacity and caused my mother and me immense emotional trauma. From the moment we enrolled in hospice care, we were led to believe LifePath would provide support, guidance, and compassion. Instead, we received only one visit, and only after we called and specifically requested assistance. There was no sustained follow-up, no meaningful contact, and no presence when it mattered most. After intake, we were told someone would visit the next day. I informed hospital staff to contact me if anyone from hospice arrived. No one ever did. I only realized in the chaos of the day, around 7 p.m., that we had been completely abandoned. When a nurse from LifePath finally arrived the next afternoon--after we had to ask for someone to come--it was far too late. My father was already declining rapidly. Over the next three days, as my father actively died, not a single person from LifePath Hospice contacted or visited us again. The only outreach we received was a generic voicemail offering "counseling," which felt like a cruel joke after everything we had endured alone. To add further insult, we later received a survey request--as if our opinion mattered to a company that ignored us in our most desperate hour. We had already emailed our frustrations, yet we were still contacted again. This level of tone-deafness and lack of empathy is disgraceful. This experience was traumatic and completely contrary to the mission LifePath claims to uphold. They failed my dying father. They failed our grieving family. Their absence forced us to lean entirely on hospital nurses, who were not affiliated with the hospice and should never have had to shoulder that burden. We are demanding: A formal acknowledgment of this complaint; A detailed explanation of why this happened; A clear outline of corrective steps to ensure no other family is subjected to this level of negligence and abandonment; Immediate and permanent removal of all contact information from their records. We have asked multiple times and continue to receive unwanted outreach. This organization is not fit to call itself a provider of compassionate end-of-life care. What they did--or more accurately, failed to do--was inhumane.

Everyone should take lessons from this assisted living facility. My mother has now moved in officially and is enjoying all of the Activities and caring happy wonderful staff, did I mention they actually care! Also the food service is beyond excellent! Bill the chef allows food service from 7 to 7 meaning they don't have to be in the dining room at a specific time to get any service, or food! He has daily marvelous creations and we as a family have eaten there many times and are extremely Impressed with the food service!

The facility is nicer than many 5 star hotels, the food is…read moredelicious - each plate is made with care and served on beautiful dishes that they even change up for holidays and special occasions- it's amazing. The team that Rosa Harris has working with her are so caring. They take their time with each and every resident and learn the particular nuances of each resident and align their care to them. Activities are on going and I wish I could have signed up for the beautiful manicures they give. If you are looking for a true home for a loved one and you are lucky enough to get a spot for them at Haven Place 21 you will be overjoyed by the care and love your loved one will receive while living there. There truly is no finer place to live.

Wow, what a suprise! I went to visit someone who recently moved in here and how great is this. A…read moregood size 1 bedroom, with a small kitchen, an entry closet, part pantry & part hanging clothes and of course a bathroom. Surprise there is a huge open room, to make into part linen closet, add a second dresser, put up more hanging rods for othes, storage....let your imagination go. This is a 12 story building west of University of Tampa. It has a really big covered multi level parking garage accross the street. The building is totally secure. You can't enter u less the occupant let's you inside & the occupants have a special card that changes frequently. The front desk is monitored 24/7 & has 8 security screens from the security camera. Get the view!! The view is of the Hillsborough river and downtown Tampa. There a just a multitude of places to elk to. It is located on Grand Central Avenue and Platt St. Unfortunately , for some, it is an age 55+ building. And I saved the best for last. Rent, including all utilities is $630.00 a month. I really am blown away by this place. What's a girl to do? Visit friends with great views and bars and restaurants we can walk to.
