After seeing a lot of High Schools and attending this one, I have to give some props to the way the…read moreschool runs. District is slightly deaf to the HS and students although their offices are IN the HS... but they lock the doors to keep students out, nice job guys... They spend a lot of tax payer money to keep this thing squeaky clean with the renovation and the athletic facilities are on par and above what most schools budget. With two gyms, massive field property owned by the school, indoor pool, track, stands, stadium seating, full track field event structure, its a good school. The school has a strong academic staff with well trained personnel and devoted teachers that will be there long term, they are paid extremely well as far as the public school sector pricing goes compared to city of Milwaukee (MPS) masses that employ most of the teaching staff in the area. Your child will be challenged both academically and socially. Almost ever single teacher will interact with parents if they take the first step. There are issues brewing as Greenfield transitions the population and they see a more diverse student body. The place is layered with security and police, like most modern schools now require, and there is a fair handle on student related crime. They have also addressed the staff and have adequately fired several individuals for misconduct involving students, I would like to dock the school a star for this, but they have zero tolerance and I guarantee you every HS has an issue, but gag orders usually keep these things tied up in litigation. Ask around... I would like to note one major flaw that almost took this down to 3 stars, career and counseling program at Whitnall is weak, extremely weak. They do not interact and prepare students for college like I have seen at other schools. The recruitment numbers are based on entrance to college, not preparation. I have witnessed a fair share of failure of the lives of whitnall's graduating classes due to their ill prepared college life transition. Many of the students drop out and work in the area, it is sad. I went for advice pre-college and really got no substantial information. They need a pre-college system for acclimation and take the job more seriously. Love hate relationship with the alma mater. There is a hard headed management aspect to the school but overall you have way more pluses than minuses here, I'm just dishing on the bad because the good is obvious if you walk through the halls.

Athletics are poor but the academics are best in the city of Greenfield.read more

Things I Like About This High School's Programs-…read more They offer all types of classes, for any people of any age. Anything from cooking to sports to swimming. My daughter takes infant swim classes here, they start at 6 months. I also lap swim here occasionally. The teachers here are attentive and well prepared. They fill up the half hour with a good variety of games and exercises. The lifeguards are always on point. The other workers are kind and happy to answer any questions. The pool and locker rooms are clean. The front desk is filled with drinks and snacks for sale in case you work up an appetite. 8 Weekly Infant Swim Classes cost a measly $26 for residents, and about $10 more for non-residents. All the classes are pretty cheap. A Thing That Mildly Annoys Me About This Swim Class- This class started with about 25 kids. About half fell off after Week 2. Now, just after Week 6, there is only 4 kids left. I not only paid for this class to get the Little One used to the water, but also to meet other kids and maybe get some play dates. C'mon, parents, keep the kids in class! Things I Hate About This High School's Programs- We're going into the Seventh Week this week. We paid for 8, and the instructor tells us we have two more classes, but the people at the desk tells us next week is the last week no matter what. Can we get on the same page please? I like to take a lot of pictures and videos of my daughter as I try to chronicle her life. There happens to be a woman in our class who must wear a string bikini to every class. I know she's worked very hard to get a nice body six months after childbirth and normally I would be like any other red-blooded male in this World and not mind it at all. But I'll be damned if this woman does not walk into every shot and photobomb every picture. I'm just a guy with a summer sausage in his Speedo short of my daughters baby movies being MC Hammer's "Pumps and a Bump" video. http://youtu.be/Vk1YtbkZTqc Take some classes here. It's worth it!

So I am a sub and let me tell you this school is a mess. They never knew where I was needed and…read morewould have me walk around looking for the one and only lady that knows about subbing and to then have her just tell me to do administrative work in the office. Very unorganized and the teachers are trying there best but a lot are fed up with the chaos. No rules are in-forced students walk around like they're in the club. Short shorts, bellys out, mini skirts like.... I also herd that students and teachers have been known for linking up after graduation which is soooo unhealthy and gross. People are trying their best but some serious work needs to be done to this place. They have a lot of bright students and it's a shame that they have to learn in this environment or be influenced by other staff and students to go off their good student path. So much potential just desperately needs guidance.

Nathan Hale was my high school. I always enjoyed my teachers here, though I have no clue as to how…read moreit might be today. The school offers a lot of different programs. I really liked that the school had a huge swimming pool and diving pool as well. They also have a summer program to teach young kids how to swim in the summer. If you love swimming , this school has a great program for swimmers. They have a good cross country team (Coach Kurt, who was the gym teacher at walker elementary) and when I was there in the 90's are basket ball team was great, who knows today? The wood shop class was a lot of fun here. I still have the end table that I made from a few pieces of oak. I wish I was able to complete my table that we were finishing, but I had to move. A few of my class mates and the kids I grew up with who attended here ended up going to Harvard and Yale. It's a good school. My only regret is that I wish I had applied myself better when I attended. I give the school five stars, as I feel the school did the best that they could, at least at that time. The teachers didn't give up and my history teacher who on the first day of class I thought was going to be the meanest lady I ever met, turned out to be the nicest and sweetest. That was a life lesson. Those who attended here during 94-98 probably without a doubt had the most fun here. Athough this has to do with politics, the school lunch program seriously needs to be changed. The food served was terrible. Our lunches consisted of French fries, Pizza, Burgers and fried tatter totters, and we wonder why childhood obesity is now becoming the norm. Of course, who could forget the vending machines full of sodas, chips and cookies.
