Disappointing Experience at Colonial Park Golf Course…read more We traveled seven hours from out of town to play Colonial Park Golf Course and were very disappointed with the experience we had. Our group consisted of five golfers who had made reservations several weeks in advance, looking forward to enjoying a day on the course. Unfortunately, our experience was negatively impacted by the course attendant, who repeatedly harassed our group throughout the round. The final incident was when he approached us and asked us to let a group of local golfers play through because he claimed we were not keeping pace. At the time, the group behind us was actually two holes back, there was no one in front of us, and we felt we were playing at a reasonable pace. We politely declined to let them play through under those circumstances. After that, it seemed the attendant continued looking for a reason to remove us from the course so the local players could move ahead. He eventually approached us and informed us that because every golfer in our group did not have their own individual set of clubs, we would either need to rent another set or accept a refund and leave. This requirement was never communicated when we made our reservations, despite the fact that we were traveling seven hours to play this course. My daughter and I are the same height and build and were sharing a set of clubs. We were not slowing down play or causing any issues, and our shared clubs had absolutely no impact on the pace of our round. It was extremely frustrating to travel such a long distance, make reservations in advance, and then feel singled out and unwelcome. A simple conversation about expectations before we started our round could have prevented this situation. Instead, we felt that the rules were being enforced selectively and that our group was treated unfairly. We came to Colonial Park expecting a great golf experience and a memorable trip. Unfortunately, the way our group was treated by the course attendant overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable day. We hope management reviews this situation and improves communication with guests so future visitors do not have the same experience. We will most certainly never return. Hopefully the locals can keep this place running because they do not welcome outside guest.

I had to delete my first review, as it was for a different business…read more I have however attended a wedding at this venue, and let me just say, it is beautiful. This place is a little hard to find. But plenty of parking space!! It's decorated so nice and it's SO clean. I wish I had gotten more photos of everything, the place was HUGE and workers were very nice and attentive! The rooms for the groom and bride were spacious as well, if you're looking for a venue for an event, I would definitely recommend this place!

To tell the truth, I was surprised certain wedding attendees made it on time since it's so secluded. Lol. My cousin and his long time significant other finally recently got married here. It was perfect for their laidback lifestyles. The bride's mother - who is a friend of mine - and their family all enjoyed planning their event and working with the employees here. The ceremony took place outside at the gazebo. Guests found their seats on wooden benches. Soon after, the party started in the barn a short walk away... a few chandeliers, rustic interior, and beautiful decorations adorned the space. The restrooms were always very clean and tidy. The bartenders, provided by Horseshoe, were friendly and quick. Security was also provided by Horseshoe, but I was a bit taken aback by uniformed sheriff deputies. Nonetheless, no one got kicked out or arrested, not even my rowdy husband. Overall, this is a charming place for a wedding venue or a special event. Highly recommended. '18 Challenge #28

Luckily enough to find this hidden gem a few days ago and went back again last night for dinner…read morewith more friends. This is a private club that does require at least one person in your group to be a member. All 6 of us had steaks for dinner last night. Each steak was requested to be cooked at different temps. Me? I like mine a bit more "cooked and less pink". I'm gonna tell you, most cooks can't do that without turning a beautiful piece of meat into shoe leather. Chef here got every steak right! Huge slab of meat topped with a lot of perfectly cooked shrimp, delicious potatoes seasoned just right and the green beans cooked to perfection. Not soggy and not raw. Nice and crispy. Now, to the building. It's a very nicely renovated old warehouse. On my tour last night, I was told they repaired wagon wheels on one side and the bar/dining side was a parts store. When Covid isn't in full force, there's live music on stage. Out front is a wonderful patio for fresh air when it's nice out. The first night we came in, we were immediately greeted by Bo(sp), the bartender and Alice. The owner came over and gave us a lot of attention and made us feel so welcomed. Come To find out, we had been big supporters of their other location, Pecos Winery. On both nights, locals to the establishment came over and talked with us and made us welcomed. Would highly recommend this place for a few drinks and dinner.
