Excellent Staff and did a great job of boarding and caring for my dog, Cheddar when she was a puppy.read more

He ultimately had a degenerative brain disease which explained his behavior and matched what the trainers had been seeing. Instinct not only has experience with difficult cases but they specialize in them. I learned more than I thought possible through them. They saw the best in my boy and have helped me heal. Yes, this is pricy, relatively speaking- yes, results may not be instant; yes, the trainers will be honest with you about your dog and the dynamics in your life that may be impacting things. The idea is to coach the owner while training the dog so that the frequency and intensity of training decreases over time, thus the price not only goes down over time but pays itself back on feelings of confidence, safety, and in having a team to back you up for life. I would hope that pet insurance is something that owners have looked into. Trupanion in particular has an excellent behavioral package. Unfortunately adopting a dog is not as simple as "with a good home and love, any dog can become a wonderful pet." Genetics and upbringing have to with it. Places like Instinct understand this and are essential and unique. They don't shame their owners or judge the dogs, it is what it is, and what a relief to have an outside pair of eyes help out, because as everyone reading this knows, by the time you look for a place like this you're feeling emotionally spent, scared, and hopeless already. We traveled hours to get there and don't regret a second of it.

I love that they have both indoor and outdoor play areas because my guy is very active and loves to play. I toured the facility prior to boarding and everyone was extremely friendly and you can tell they all have a passion for dogs, as well as being very clean which was important to me. My pup has been here multiple times now and I have never had an issue and he always comes home so happy and SOOO tired which is an obvious example that he gets lots of needed playtime while I'm away. PS- They post pictures to Facebook each day to give you a little insight to your pups day which I love to check and I always see a happy face!

In fact, she stayed for 2 full weeks when I was on an extended vacation and she didn't want to leave! Jodi is such a wonderful person. She takes great pride in her business and loves each dog as if they are her own! The staff is fantastic as well! Unfortunately I have moved, so Layla can no longer come here (waaahhh!!! I cannot find a decent replacement and tried to convince Jodi to open up a 2nd location in Bergen County!) However, I still recommend CCCL to all my friends in the area and if I ever need long-term boarding, the drive is well worth it!!!

I was also impressed that they understand the area market And we're not overpriced. Had pet emergency and when everyone else turned me away no new clients.... I am choosing to post mostly anonymously because I do not feel like dealing with the excuses, buts,…read moreand defensiveness that comes with every 'bad review' which is actually just a pet parent expressing their concerns to help others keep their animals safe. I will not be sharing my animals names or super specific situations for this reason. I am sharing this to please please seek vet care elsewhere so you do not end up in heartbreak. First, my family dog was told she had a simple infection and that a routine cleaning would be fine. She was bleeding from the mouth and no other concerns were shown and no other tests were done. Within 2 days we took her to the emergency vet where they found she had a terminal illness and passed away that night. She was bleeding internally for who knows how long, and we came to this vet multiple times with concerns and were told she's fine after a couple minutes of looking at her even when she was actively bleeding. At the emergency vet they had to drain blood from her body from the internal bleeding. My entire family is traumatized and heart broken. The vet's office expressed their apologies - I am not saying anyone at this office is mean or rude - I am saying the actual vet care is absolutely horrendous and took a life that could have had more time if proper examination and testing had been done. We are heartbroken. We took our other dog in against our better judgement but because we thought, they seem so remorseful and they just unfortunately missed our other dogs diagnosis, and they're our family vet so really what other options do we have. We were told she was nauseous and said they understand why we would be 'paranoid' because of what just happened with our other dog. We weren't paranoid. Another misdiagnoses that could have ended horribly. That very night, we rushed her to the emergency vet where they found bladder stones that explained her symptoms. She has been put on prescription food and is doing well, thank goodness. We switched primary vets. We're so grateful she received good care and is doing well. I am glad for all those having positive vet care for their babies. I hope that continues. I hope this office does better. I hope this office stops placing blame on pet parents and instead looks at the trends of what is occurring at their office and figures out how to provide much more competent care. That being said, my biggest regret is not trusting my instinct when I knew something was wrong and they were not doing their due diligence to figure it out. Our dog's life was unfairly taken and our other dog was close to being next and I will defend this with all I have in me if it means saving someone else's pet. Seek veterinary care elsewhere. I fully expect a defensive and excuse filled response to which I will not read. I will not accept 'I'm sorry for your loss/im sorry you feel this way BUT' - 'I'm sorry for your loss and failing you and your dogs' should be the only response.
