It was beginning to look like we were going to have to extend our closing date or possibly have to look for another home Then our daughter in law mentioned Luan at Deck Bros We made contact with Luan, met him at the home that afternoon and he said due to our situation "no problem"-he would have it done the following morning Although it was not Luans problem-he was sympathetic to our situation and treated us like it was just as much his issue as it was ours We arrived at the new home around noon to take pictures for our realtor and the railing was completed AND was high quality !!! Luans compassion, professionalism, and his appreciation for our predicament made the difference in us being able to close on time THANKS LUAN

Mike Jansen himself came out & walked us thru each step by step procedure & what to expect when! Very professional. Summer 2017 we decided to have the deck replaced on the home we had bought in Deer Creek fall 2016…read more I asked several contractors to come out and give us bids. While Mike was the most expensive, we thought he seemed knowledgeable so we moved ahead with his firm. We were scheduled to have the install done the first of August, so planned other work around his schedule. Summer 2017 was unusually rainy, and because we live near a natural wetland we had some water issues on one side of the house. In order to not damage the lawn, I asked Mike to use the access on the other side of the house (which was actually closer to the old/proposed deck). He literally threw a fit and refused. When my husband pressed the issue, Mike informed us we would need to pay 90% of the cost of the deck ($40K) in cash the day he started. He also said that he is not responsible for any property damage caused by his crews and he would be using a bobcat anywhere he liked. This all came down the week before he was to start our project. Needless to say my husband was less than pleased, and after contacting a lawyer to speak with Mr. Jansen (who refused to return our deposit of several thousand dollars), our money was returned and we parted ways. However, we wasted a whole summer dealing with this less than reputable individual. Do yourself a favor and pass Mike Jansen Decks over, he's not interested in customer service and you will pay for any damage he does to your property--its in the contract.

"DRD rebuilt our old deck perfectly to our specifications. Dan's understanding of what materials…read moreand design would work best was invaluable, the price was right and his crew was amazing. Nice folks and superior craftsmanship. Had DRD back to stain the Cedar too. Dan's my "go to" guy for similar projects in the future." Doug Wesselmann, Omaha

I cannot recommend DRD based on my experience…read more I hired Dan to stain and finish a railing. The first application was unacceptable as the finish bleached the railing. After I raised my concerns, he provided another sample of a different finish which was blotchy. He assured me in writing that the final product would not look blotchy. Unfortunately, when the finish was applied, it was just as blotchy as the sample. Dan told me he would return to correct the work, but after weeks of waiting and repeated attempts to contact him, I received no communication. Eventually, I asked if I should hire someone else to complete the project. By accident, he replied to my text with a message that was intended for someone else, and during that conversation he told me to go ahead and hire another contractor. He also told me he would refund the money I had already paid so I could do that. That refund never happened. Instead, I received an invoice showing a zero balance, but it did not accurately reflect the $1,300 I had already paid for the railing project. When I recalculated the charges, the numbers did not match what I had paid or what I had been told. I reached out multiple times asking for an explanation and for the promised refund, but my calls and text messages have gone unanswered for weeks. Unfortunately, this is not my first negative experience with DRD. I have spent many thousands of dollars with DRD and I've experienced poor communication, missed commitments, unexpected costs, and incomplete work. Once the contract is signed and payment is made, communication becomes extremely difficult. If you're considering hiring DRD, I strongly encourage you to explore other options. Based on my experience, I would not hire them again.

I cannot recommend Justin and his crew enough! They were one of 4 contractors that we recently bid…read moreout for a tile and closet addition project to our home and we ended up selecting him based on price and overall first impression. He showed up at the exact time for the bidding process and returned our call quickly when we first contacted him. Don't you hate when contractors tell you that they will finish in a certain amount of time and then suddenly it's 3x longer? Justin and his team worked consecutively in our home for 3.5 days (from 8am-5pm every day) and were finished much sooner than what other companies were telling us. (Keep in mind, those other companies were much higher priced) There was a snag in the project when we discovered a small mold spot in our bathroom, but Justin was happy to remove it, replace the plywood, and cover it with sealant. Additionally, we asked him to move an outlet around the closet he was building and he did it without any hesitation. BONUS Cleanliness: The first day they came, he laid down plastic covering on our carpet because it had just snowed and they knew they could potentially track dirty snow into our house every time they came in and out. When they did finally remove the plastic covering, they vacuumed as best they could to return our house back to normal. He even asked if we had a broom so he could sweep all the sand they tracked in! Friendliness/Approachability: Justin was SUCH an easy guy to work with. He did a great job of explaining the work they did and always made sure to give us informed options when we had decisions to make. Even with the mold and asking for an outlet cover to be added, he never complained or showed any signs of annoyance. Our 3 and 5-year-old daughters even enjoyed talking to him and his guys and share about their days at school. I've never been more impressed when working with a contractor and will continue to choose Justin for any future home projects!!! Give him a call, you absolutely will not regret it.
