The reception desk is behind glass and we patiently awaited either of the two ladies talking inside the office to assist us or at the very least acknowledge our presence at the desk. During our approximately five minute wait, one of the two ladies looked our way, but never indicated that they saw us and would be with us at some point in time. After what we believe was an extraordinary amount of waiting, we decided to leave without talking to any staff member. I sent an email to management via their website to describe our experience and never got a reply from them. While I am not willing to assume that the care-givers would exhibit similar behavior, I am still somewhat dismayed that any employee of Beaverton Lodge would ignore someone seeing assistance at this facility.

This home was for my father, and it was our 4th attempt at finding somewhere that would meet the standards of care we had for him. The home itself is inviting and welcoming with a large backyard where we could sit in the sun with my dad and a very safe neighborhood to go for walks in as well. The food quality was far and above any other home and they made each of the meals themselves. It always felt more like a family than someone taking care of my dad. Jamie, Leo and Amanda were incredible with my dad and I always felt so peaceful knowing he was being well cared for, never being left unattended or neglected. The kindness they all showed not only to my dad in their everyday interactions with him, but also to my mom, sister and I as we went through the painful process of watching him die, was amazing. At the very end of his life, he didn't wake or eat for 7 days, and if there was a moment we weren't by his side, they were right there. Jamie personally stayed with him through the nights singing to him and holding his hand. I can't describe the peace we felt knowing that while we went home to try to rest to regain strength, he was never alone. Jamie, Val and their staff operate with the utmost integrity, kindness and love for everyone who walks through their door-both the patients and the family. Losing my dad was the hardest thing we've ever gone through, and having him get the best care possible made that journey just a bit more bearable. The first two years was in their transitional memory care unit, then .5 year in the full memory care unit. Here's a breakdown of our experience. I always like to start with the good: Care Staff: The care staff at Farmington Square were generally good. They showed genuine care and concern for my mother's well-being. However, there were some employees who appeared to be primarily motivated by their paycheck, which was a bit concerning. I would like to point out some staff members who I believe went above and beyond: Cory, Megan, Isabel, Michelle, Brianna, and the van driver Rob. Through their actions, they all reinforced my feeling that my mom was being well taken care of. Food: One standout aspect of Farmington Square was the quality of the food. My mother consistently enjoyed the meals, and they were well-prepared with a variety of options and good portions. She was given snacks throughout the day, and someone was always ready to provide her with a cup of coffee. Billing and Communication: Unfortunately, our experience with billing and communication from day one left much to be desired. I stopped my direct withdrawal within a month of starting because they were withdrawing the wrong amount. Billing issues were particularly problematic. I find it interesting that anytime there was an "honest mistake," it always favored the facility and not the resident. We were charged room rent for 15 days after my mother's passing. While this may be legal, it is certainly unconscionable and gives you a sense of their moral compass. There were multiple instances of poor communication between the staff and our family, which led to frustration and confusion. This was both unexpected and disappointing. Management: Our interactions with the management team were less than satisfactory. They seemed disorganized and unresponsive when it came to addressing our concerns or resolving billing issues. This lack of effective management was a significant source of frustration during our time at Farmington Square. In summary, Farmington Square Assisted Living provided decent care and excellent food for my mother. However, the issues with billing, communication, and management were significant drawbacks to our overall experience. If these areas were improved, it could be a much better place for residents and their families. I'm not sure if I could recommend Farmington Square Beaverton to anyone who is private-pay; it seems to me that Farmington Square's number one goal is to separate you from as much of your money as possible.

My parent was there over a year & Mgmt continuously attempted to charge us for anything & everything. It was stressful & repulsive. With the exception of one person in Mgmt, the rest are leeches. After my parent died, only one Mgmt employee gave condolences after I called to tie up some things-not a word from the rest. At least they were finally showing their true selves. Additionally, one employee harassed my parent & tried to convert my parent to evangelical Christianity despite my parent being a reformed Catholic. I'd never recommend them, I'd warn people about what to expect. If you're very well-off, there's no problem but if you're on a fixed income, even if it's quite a healthy upper-middle class income, be prepared for them to bleed you dry...all while smiling & pretending to care. Avoid.
