It also included a full day of mining and zip lining. You can separate all these options if you choose to save some cash but we thought that was a good deal. We struggled to decide which mine to go to and have zero regrets. We are super excited to get home and clean up our great selection of gems. Everything was great, well explained and the staff were super friendly, helpful and seemed to really enjoy their jobs. Props to Andrew , Preston, Adrianna, Jeremiah and Kam! Thanks for being happy to be there, passionate to assist and educate and having fun while doing it!

Don't let the haters sway you that they "couldn't find anything" because there's a ton of crystals all over and they didn't try very hard, in the dirt, on the dirt around the dirt. It's every rock nerds dream. Get your hands dirty, your shoes muddy; pack a lunch and bring the dog. There's more crystals around than what's worth keeping. Take what you can carry. Really awesome place too, & some amazing views. Zip lining and a mine tour for some additional $$. The staff is super polite and welcoming. I want to say it was $25/ person for an all day pass to dig. Tons of fun. Check out our haul. The big one was literally on top of the ground.

It's fun and easy to reach/enjoy with family friendly opportunities for hiking, fishing, boating, swimming, grilling, camping (cabins available too) - very close to Hot Springs which has a lot of beauty from the National Park in downtown to the lookout tower atop the highest point in downtown - including the natural hot springs which makes this place famous for America's first off season professional baseball camps and the likes of gangsters and movie stars all mingled alongside the everyday persons enjoying the same or hanging out at the horse races. It's a cool place to visit and you'll have a super time at the park - with other states parks and lakes and rivers/hiking and nature all around!

There were marks on trees during the hike that were red, white and yellow, but I had no idea what those meant. Maybe this part of town is less touristy and more locals, because people had set up hammocks, and all of their things that they needed for the night/day around the waterfall after the hike. I spoke to a sweet man and woman on a golf cart who seemed to work there, as they were going around and changing papers for the reservations for there were trailers in the parking lot, and they advised us on where to go and park. They did advise us that if you go on the trails, if you go towards the left, the hike is shorter and it's about a 1/2 a mile, and if you go towards the right, it's about a mile and a 1/2 Which is a great tip because, of course, we wanted to take the shorter route. We had a toddler and an elderly person with us, and so we did not want to do a strenuous hike. This hike was just enough for us to feel better adventurous, and like we accomplished something when we got to the falls. The falls were beautiful, and the water looked gorgeous. Although, I did see later on another app, that a lot of times sewer water gets into the falls. Unfortunately, we had decided to take a dip even though we didn't have swim suits just because it looks so refreshing but it's just something to keep in mind. Overall, we would definitely come here again! It looks like a great place to bring lunch and hang out and eat after a great hike!

This small state park is nice for RV travelers, tenters, and "cabin renters." It is situated a few…read moremiles from historic MS State Highway 61 ("the blues highway" of BB King and Robert Johnson fame) in the Mississippi Delta. It's an easy drive from Vicksburg and there's a big grocery store in town where you can get fresh mustard greens, beer, and deli meats on the way to the park. There was only one other camper in the 10 or so RV pads at one end of the park (on a Friday night!). There are cabins at the other end. The shower house is alright, although like most state parks the water only squirts at the one place you CAN'T stand. One stall is missing a curtain, and the showers can easily be seen from the road through windows so that shower can't be used. There is a small laundry with one washer and one dryer which could use a good sweeping out, but which is also very cheap and convenient to the RV area. This is a quiet park with a 1.3 mile nature hike around a long narrow lake, and lots of alligator habitat. It's a pity these parts of the park don't get more use--after 10 minutes of walking on the nature trail I walked through four spider webs stretched across the trail and so I gave up after only a few tantalizing glimpses of frogs, the lake, and lots of trees. Think: Harry Potter forest, dark and green and secret, with a possible Aragog living in the precise center. There is tons of bird life all over the park. Birders will go nuts with the many varieties of woodpeckers, songbirds, and hummingbirds. The lady clerk is friendly and helpful, and let me call my husband on her phone (there is no cell phone reception in the park, although if you walk out to the highway you can get a signal). The water is the disconcerting color of very weak tea--it is full of minerals, like Loch Ness and the St. Croix River in Wisconsin. It seems to taste fine (after filtering of course). Well worth a quiet weekend visit! MOSQUITO ALERT: Be sure to bring lots of mosquito repellent and long-burning mosquito coils. You won't be able to get in and out of your RV or tent during the evening hours without being eaten alive if you don't have those two items.
