This is an incredibly wonderful Christmas experience. It is open December 1 every holiday season. They are not an organized community and do not accept donations. However there are tons of houses that raise money throughout the neighborhood for different charities. They sell food like donuts that are AMAZING. You can walk, but there is not a walking trail and no specific walk nights. It's a neighborhood that loops and is not similar to Christmas tree lane. There is also a home to drop off letters to Santa. The lines get really long but it's a treat that is worth it! read more

Overall great time! My personal opinion is that there should be "walk only" nights and "drive-thru only" nights; it was sort of "keep your head on a swivel" all night since we are all watching our kids and trying to make sure no one wanders into the path of a car. Also, I wish there was a mapped route, I used my Apple Watch to map what we walked to give an idea of the layout. I enjoyed how interactive this was; there was a live band performing in one of the cul-de-sacs, several hot chocolate stands, fresh donut stand, Christmas Wish List stand, "snow" machine in someone's yard display, sleigh ride pictures, a couple popcorn stands, and still more! There are of course great yard displays as well! I do recommend checking this neighborhood out. read more

We took our boys last night and they loved it. We usually go down Christmas tree lane but the lines are awful. The lines here weren't crazy at all. I like that you can walk or drive down here. Some houses were selling cookies, hot chocolate, headbands and even pictures in a sleigh. So bring cash but I did see one vendor accepting Venmo. I thought it was cool that one house had a stand where you can write a letter to Santa. Another house had a stand where you can write a letter for someone special. They had some inspirational quotes I thought were nice around their yard. This is a great place to bring the family or friends to see lights. read more

We love driving and walking candy cane lane every year! We did both this season . There are some house that set up stands and you can buy hot chocolate, churros , donuts and more. Not sure where to find the sign up or how much it is but there is a guy that brings out a big horse drawn wagon that you can take to go through the lights. It can get really busy , so be careful. We have found the best time to go is between 5:30-7:00 on weekdays. read more

When does it end exactly end., on Christmas Day? I been reall busy this year and finally got free time and hoping it will be still open

We've been wanting to go every year but never had a chance to. We traditionally go to Christmas Tree Lane every Christmas Eve. So glad we are able to go today to Candy Cane Lane. Since the last two weeks, the line has been so long, I tried to keep track of the best time to go. Between 6-7:30 had been best. The line isn't all the way to Target and wasn't blocking the intersection of Alluvial and Willow. The flow of traffic was a bit crazy compared to Christmas Tree Lane. I actually prefer Christmas Tree Lane than Candy Cane Lane. There was a lot of decorations but not as much as Christmas Tree Lane. Some houses looked like they just threw a string of lights on some bushes or just had a blow up Santa or two. There were a lot of left and right turns. Since this was neighborhoods of decorated houses. Pedestrians were walking in the middle of the street or they would cut across in front of cars. There were cars parked on the curb next to the houses so some of the lights or decorations were blocked. The houses or neighborhoods that were decorated were really nice and we really appreciate the time they took and how they put everything together for the community. It was nice to look at. I'm glad we got to visit and experience this! read more

The dude and I came here on Christmas 12/25/20 around 8pm and I came here two weeks ago with my lovely two sisters and two nieces as well. With the family we wanted to go to Christmas Tree lane and the line was so LONG and my middle sister who works in Clovis and I love in Clovis suggested Candy Cane Lane which I was down for and we already got our Holiday drinks and snacks so we headed there! Upon arrival there was a long line which we unnecessarily waited like 30 minutes as you can cut through some houses and cut so many people who don't know this secret! The dude and I did it when we recently came through this week. The dudes first time and we got our Holiday drinks from Rare Earth right by Candy Cane Lane and headed there. I would say about 90% of the houses were decked out with beautiful lights and decorations and like the 10% put in minimal effort or no lights at all which I'm not hating as we and my family didn't put outside lights up but did inside the house and our apartment. With COVID don't know if that interfered or maybe plans out of town so who knows. My favorite House was the House that had LARGE bears, Santa and every structure wearing face mask which was pretty cool. Some homes were selling Churros and hot chocolate. Overall, I highly recommend coming through as it was a lovely experience. My nieces LOVED it so hoping to make this a tradition of coming to Candy Cane Lane with the nieces and my two best friends which are my sisters a week or two before Christmas and with my love the dude on Christmas dude thinks it Cheesy but that makes me - me so bring on the extra cheese please! read more

We drive down every year and it always seems to expand. Have started seeing more opportunities for some folks to make a little extra cash selling letters from Santa, churros, hot chocolate or even light up tops for kids. You can walk or drive (make sure to turn off your headlights when driving through ). Bring some cash on hand if you want to support those small vendors. Most live in the area and make a little extra cash during a time when their electricity is so outrageous. Also, I believe the first Friday it happens one gal gives cups of hot chocolate to all walkers for free. It's nice. read more

Went during the weekday and it wasn't as busy.... Loved all the houses with lights. There was a couple residents selling hot coco and churros and desserts. I have been in the Christmas spirit lately and have been craving something Christmas. Candy Cane Lane gave me that fix. My terrier, Dude has walked Christmas Tree Lane before and we drove through Candy Cane Lane. My Chihuahua, Saint had never gone to see lights. I honestly don't know if they can tell, but it's special to me. This was mine, my husband's and my dog's first time walking Candy Cane Lane. Previous years were not as busy driving, but this year, it took forever and I was getting a headache so even though I'm not fully healed from my sprained ankle, my husband parked at Railroad Park and we decided to walk it instead. I got a $4 hot cocoa right on Peach, but wish I would have waited because other houses were selling them for $2. The majority of the houses were decorated beautifully. Honestly, my photos don't do the houses justice. There's trash cans throughout the neighborhood to prevent litter. I honestly wish I would have brought a backpack instead of a purse because my hands were constantly full. I loved seeing all the rides. There were decked out cars, there was a truck pulling a sleigh, there was even a car shooting out snow. It was like a little self made parade. My two favorite houses would be between the Happy Howlidays with all the dog decorations, Beary Christmas and the Pirate Ship. There was even a house that let you write something to tell them what is remarkable about someone you are missing this holiday. I wrote about my dear friend Lydia who passed away at 30 and left behind her one year old daughter in 2017. She was everyone's cheerleader even while battling her kidney disease and sometimes I wish she was still here cheering me on during my dark times. If you've only gone to Christmas Tree Lane and want to see something different, definitely stop by Candy Cane Lane! I even saw a friend of a friend selling donuts, Nano's donuts and ran into our dog park friend and my Chihuahua got to take a photo with Princess Peach. read more

It was extremely frustrating as the driver and all the people walking kill the view and taking photos out the window of the car. Pedestrians always want to walk all over the road because they have the "right away" people were so disrespectful just walking in the middle of the road and basically having to drive behind groups of people. People walking opposite directions and having to stop because the pedestrians are not walking around the cars driving on the road. Telling cars to get out of their way? It was the worst experience EVER. I used to prefer Candy Cane Lane. But either have a walk day or drive day but do not do both. It's dangerous and it's an accident waiting to happen. As a driver you're screwed because you can enjoy the lights because you have to dodge hitting people walking and small children walking inches away from the side of your car. We stumbled upon this beautifully decorated neighborhood near the northwest intersection of Alluvial and Peach one evening last month after giving up on trying to brave the crowds at Christmas Tree Lane. This is a decent sized neighborhood that goes all out...with at least 99% of the residences over an area covering at least 10 residential blocks amazingly decorated. Finding this treasure brought as much awe to myself and my out of town guests as did the other Lane the first time I went down Van Ness. With locals riding bicycles strung with lights, and plenty of families walking, we drove slowly. I really liked that we weren't corralled into a single file line of cars, and could drive against the main flow of traffic to see the neighborhood more quickly. In all, this is an amazingly spirited neighborhood in northeast Fresno...worth a visit during the Christmas season...if you come by, please just be mindful of those on bikes or on feet. read more

Great experience. However, no walking is allowed this year. PLEASE DO NOT WALK! Walkers are starting to get in the way of vehicles and cause a big disturbance. The owners on their website have asked walkers to please stop doing this as it can cause a serious accident (especially with small kids around that are not easily visible). Please follow the rules instead of ruining it for everybody else. read more

This is a great Christmas event! We have gone the last two years and have enjoyed the event each time.We recommend walking this beautifully decorated neighborhood because of the friendliness of the people that live here! There are many opportunities to purchase snacks that are being sold in driveways. Some people even have fire pits lit with seating available so you can sit and rest. We take my elderly parents and they love answering back, to all of the residents who are wishing you a Merry Christmas. Lots of music playing to get you in the holiday spirit. Some homes have a writing area set up so you can request a prayer or acknowledge an individual. Highly recommend! read more

Loved how the home owners interacted with guest. Some sold treats and many welcomed you into their lawns around little pit fires. Some wore Christmas character costumes and allowed people to take pictures with them. Lights were amazing! I can definitely tell there was lots of hard work and effort put in. Originally we were going to go to Christmas tree Lane however the line was a 3 hour wait so we decided to drive a little further and check out candy cane lane for our first time. Absolutely no regrets. We actually loved it so much more! When we go again, we will try walking. It looks so much more fun to interact with the home owners. read more

256. Loved the displays here. Be aware that traffic is bumper to bumper and can be at a standstill at times. We initially entered near Alluvial & Cindy around 7pm and it was already getting crowded, so we decided to park somewhere and walk it. Candy Cane Lane is more pedestrian-friendly compared to Christmas Tree Lane. I would strongly recommend walking around the neighborhood instead of driving. You don't have to worry about hitting anyone AND you can enjoy the lights. Last Christmas was our first time! We really enjoyed it! Maybe next time we will walk instead of drive since it's so packed. There's such a huge variety and so many homes decorated! Lots to see! I took my son out for the first time, and I'm from Merced. I looked at yelp and saw it was open today but on the facebook it said December so I took a chance anyways. Im glad I did because we got to see what it was all about. For the houses(i would say about 15 houses,that was lit up) thank you thank you, you guys made a 3 year old boy so very happy. Nice homes some very well decorated and others I'm sure you can see from a mile away! traffic is crazy I wouldn't know what to do if I was driving, thankfully we walked it. My 3 year old enjoyed it. What a fun place! Decorations galore! Lots of traffic and chaos, but the lights are totally worth it. If you have a little extra time, I suggest walking it. There are some houses who welcome people to visit with them and others have Christmas characters to interact and take picture with. Dress warm and have comfortable shoes....and maybe some spiked hot chocolate (but you didn't get that idea from me!). read more
