Being a person who LOVES Mexican food and have been experimenting with cooking it my whole life,…read moreBurritoRico was a real disappointment. I was really hoping to find my fix in Bonn, but alas, I will have to keep searching. My partner ordered the tacos. The flavors went well together, but the meat was dry and the corn tortillas were not heated on a grill. The tortillas fell apart pretty much immediately so he was left eating tacos with a fork. I ordered the vegetable burrito and again, it was very over cooked and pretty flavorless to add. The beans seemed like they'd been cooking for days and had been burnt. Too much rice and too little flavor. We also got the nachos to see what they were like and it was just laughable. It was room temperature ballpark nacho cheese (runny, unnatural, yellow stuff) on top of store bought tortilla chips. The toppings were sparse and you only got about 1/2 a basket eaten before your chips were completely dry. Cold nachos? I could not understand. The redeeming traits were a nice interior and a very tasty yet tiny margarita. For the €30 that we spent at BurritoRico, I would rather stay home and make Mexican food with actual flavor.

I wanted to go originally to Herr Lehmann next door but Burrito Rico looks a lot more cosy…read more I had some Tacos with a veggie filling, chicken as well as beef. Tasted alright but not a culinary dinner. Nice were the cilantro and pomegranate toppings. Self Service place. Everyone was very nice though. Sadly there is nothing on the menu for your sweet tooth. It's a nice and cosy place. Feels very like in San Francisco. I would recommend it for a quick lunch or dinner. Rather than for staying there the whole evening.

This place is over-rated on Yelp! We have yet to find a…read moregreat Mexican restaurant in Düsseldorf. We started with the guacamole and chips. The guac was actually not bad and made fresh. It could have used some diced tomatoes and jalapeño though. It was the best item the restaurant has to offer. The chips were lacking flavor. I ordered a chicken burrito. It was mostly shredded iceberg lettuce. It had some chicken, peppers and a few pieces of corn and pinto beans. Very ordinary but edible. My wife ordered tacos. Four of the smallest tacos I have seen were smothered with diced onions. She was also less than impressed. Casita Mexicana is just another average restaurant that tries their best, but just serves the typical "Euro-Mex" food. It just isn't the same as good Mexican food from the Southwestern U.S. (Or Mexico, of course). There were only two other couples in the restaurant, yet the girl sat us in the back, right next to the toilet. Didn't realize it until I was eating and started smelling it. Poor decision by the staff.

very tasty mexican food, seems authentic to me , better than a lot I had in US…read more We had the Nachos , which came with pico de gallo and cheese , and guacamole, and various tacos and quesadillas . Esp the one with chicken in chocolate sauce , and the slow cooked pork one in orange sauce were great . Goiod craft beer and margheritas too..I can recomment it .. probably the best mexican food in Düsseldorf. The service was nice too , finding a table for us despite all being reserved

I like this place. Loud, noisy, good drinks. Really good White Russian too…read more Missing one star because getting a drink can take AGES. Despite there being lots of staff. They can't always seem to handle big crowds and tend to purposefully ignore people when the going gets tough. Other than that, not bad.

Oh, Maya. Why must you be so smoky inside? Haven't your owners realized that smoking is best done…read moreto raw meat, not to the lungs of its patrons? *sigh* The 'Mexican' food at Maya is the best in Bonn, outside of my kitchen. But I cook Tex-Mex, so maybe that doesn't count... but I digress. I must admit that I've only eaten at Maya once, due to the aforementioned smokiness. I just have a serious problem with not being able to taste my food for the smell of smoke in the air. All things considered, the meal I had at Maya was one of the better ones I've had in the area. After a starter of the typical Poco Loco-variety tortilla chips and questionably "homemade" dips, I had the Palenque enchiladas with ground beef, avocado, and salsa. The plate came with a side of rice, beans and a small salad. The ground beef had pleasant, although not spicy, flavors, and the avocado was more guacamole than avocado strips, which is what I expected from the description. The rice and beans were only slightly seasoned, but were an acceptable complement to the main part of the dish. Bear in mind that my idea of good Mexican involves a generous portion of chiles (preferably poblanos, jalapenos and/or chipotles) and cumin, so I was a bit underwhelmed by my meal at Maya. However, if the smoke and lingering stale smokiness would go away, I would definitely be back to try more of the menu.
