I cannot fault a restaurant for its selection of dishes. If most items on the menu contain meat or…read morefish, I can choose to go someplace else or order one of the few vegetarian options. What I can fault a restaurant for, however, are the availability and quality of the items, and the service. And this restaurant was probably the worst I've come across so far on Mallorca. We decided to go into the restaurant because the menu listed a couple of vegetarian starters, and we thought a couple of starters are as good as a main course. The dessert list looked good, too, and the decoration of the restaurant was quite beautiful. The experience started when we tried to order a couple of dishes, and none of them were available. No asparagus, fine; but I'm not quite sure how a well-run restaurant could possibly run out of artichokes, or of maccheroni. So I ordered spaghetti, because it was getting late. The menu just said "spaghetti", so I made sure to order them with vegetables or something else vegetarian. The waiter asked "no Bolognese?" And I said "no, vegetarian, please!" After a while I got a plate of--I'm not kidding--bare spaghetti. Just spaghetti, with nothing else! After protesting, I got some cheese for it (Grana Padano, so not really vegetarian, but at this point ... whatever); and after some more protesting, ketchup. Because that's what you really want when dining out. It still amazes me that no one in the kitchen thought of at least putting some olive oil and garlic on it. Not really surprising at this point, the spaghetti weren't even particularly good--they were slightly overcooked and soft. If they could have talked, they'd have told stories about feeling al dente when they were much younger in the boiling water. My companion's croquettes were acceptable at least. Bread and olives were delivered (and charged) without asking. The olives were extremely salty, but that seems to be a tradition on Mallorca. The bread must have been found at an archaeological excavation; I really hope it wasn't stolen from some mummy for us. Then we ordered dessert. One crema catalana, and I tried to order something that--of course--was out. At this point I was done and told the waiter I'd go eat dessert somewhere else. The crema catalana was okay, nothing to really write home about, and the sugar crust was too burnt. But it was okay. At the end the receipt came and stated the full price for the spaghetti, despite lacking the bolognese sauce. To make a long story short, after a very heated argument with an incompetent waiter who seems to never even have heard the word "service", we paid the full price (I personally wouldn't have, but I wasn't there on my own), but left no tip. The restaurant is very huge inside, but was almost empty. In light of the horrible quality and service, our guess was that it's probably a destination of vacation busses.
