4 by 4 quilt made of old t-shirts
Rick B.

It has been some time since I purchased a pair of quilts from Campus Quilt, and I am just now reviewing the business because I finally found my old pictures. You really need a picture to get an idea of this product. This is a neat idea - and a great one for gifts. I used to collect college t-shirts during my younger days and had a lot of them...everyone knew that a different college t-shirt was a perfect gift for my birthday and would be a hit. I ended up with drawers overflowing and started to think about what to do with all of them. When I found Campus Quilt I decided to make one quilt for each of my kids - a 4 by 4 quilt, and thus use up 32 of my old t-shirts. The quilts really came out nice. While the quilts are a bit on the expensive side, their quality makes it worth it. As the photos show, I chose to have the sashing or borders between the squares to set them off and the flannel backing (unseen in pictures) - and it worked perfectly and looks wonderful. The sewing is top notch and the cutting out of the college name from the shirts preserved just what was needed. While the t-shirts I gave them were old, they used them just right...they even fixed a little tear on one. Sorry to gush but this was a great gift idea and Campus Quilt lived up to the hype. Try it.

So I did their online order system, assembled my shirts, selected options, and just received the T-shirt quilt back today.

I've been trying to teach myself how to crochet by watching YouTube videos. I've got the chain…read morestitch down, but couldn't figure out where I was going wrong with the actual crocheting. So I searched online for nearby classes because I need someone to watch where I'm going wrong. Ms. Audrey's offered a beginner class at a time that worked for me and a price that was very affordable. The class had 4 other students and was held in her store. She is a patient instructor and made sure everyone was on the same step as we went along. She explained things in a way that just clicked. I will definitely return for a level 2 class.

You know how you can just tell when someone has found their niche? You can tell by the way that…read morethey think through the fine details of their work and the care they take with offering it to others. They bring a passion with them to the expertise they offer you. That's what it's like to step into Ms Audrey's Emporium. The entrance is filled with art projects that invite you to explore within yourself- What do you wish to create? What crafting skill have you been meaning to pick up or grow? What part of you haven't you had a chance to express yet? And then Ms Audrey will ask you what you're interested in making, so she can help you bring it from idea to life! My artistic, seven-year-old daughter and I came to Louisville for spring break and enjoyed spending more than two days with Ms Audrey. We had stopped at the Speed Art Museum on our way into the city. Pro tip: The speed is free on Sundays. My daughter was inspired by some community artwork with mixed media on canvas. We showed a picture of the inspiration to Ms Audrey. She had the perfect materials and know-how to help us create our own masterpiece, inspired by the art we saw at the museum. My daughter did not want to do anything else in the city besides make art with Ms Audrey- we even skipped the children's museum. We learned different techniques for using the materials and I'll definitely be incorporating them as we continue to create at home. Ms Audrey helps you not only bring beauty into the world, but she makes learning a new craft accessible step by step. Her process helps you create while expanding your crafting skills along the way. She offers such a unique experience. As someone who continually strives to bring analog experiences to the younger generations, I fully approve and value the service she brings to the community. Her prices are absolutely affordable for the value and materials she has to offer. If you're considering starting a crafting hobby or working on a specific craft project, go see Ms Audrey.
