Normally, this would be a five-star review, but I did have a slight issue prior to arrival…read more I've been a Marriott Bonvoy member for over 30 years, and when given a choice, I always try to stay at a Marriott. As a Lifetime Platinum Elite member, certain benefits are part of that loyalty. I had two reservations for this stay: the first portion was booked under my name, and the remaining nights (which together totaled seven nights) were accidentally booked under my husband's name and his Bonvoy number. In the past, I've never had an issue having reservations like this paired together. I even called Marriott in advance and was told not to worry, that the hotel would merge the reservations upon arrival and that my Platinum benefits would apply for the entire stay. The flight was delayed into Vienna, I contacted the hotel through my reservation to notify them. At the same time, I again requested that the two reservations be merged and asked whether my Platinum benefits would override my husband's so we could have lounge access for the duration of our stay. Ronja responded and clearly stated that this would not happen and that my Platinum benefits would not be honored for the second half of the stay. After going back and forth and realizing I wasn't getting anywhere, I decided to address it when we got to the hotel. When we arrived at 1:00 a.m., Michael was at the front desk, and he was absolutely wonderful. Friendly, professional, and incredibly accommodating. He resolved the situation immediately and without hesitation. Ronja's LinkedIn lists her title as "Hotel & Hospitality Specialist," but based on this interaction, additional training may be beneficial. As a lifelong Platinum Elite member, I certainly did not feel like a valued guest. Aside from that experience, the hotel itself was absolutely perfect. Our room was lovely, located on a high floor with a beautiful view overlooking the park. The hotel has so much to offer, and the Concierge Lounge was one of the best I've ever experienced. It was open daily from 6:30 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.--which is impressive in itself. Breakfast was served every morning with a great selection of both hot and cold options, and the coffee machine offered an excellent variety of choices. There was also a daily happy hour from 5:00 p.m. until closing, with beer, wine, and a consistent selection of food and snacks. The lounge staff truly went above and beyond to make guests feel comfortable and welcome. The views from the lounge were magnificent making it a nice place to relax after a long day. This is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic part of the city. It's within walking distance of major sights and excellent restaurants. If you're visiting Vienna, this is a wonderful place to stay.

Solid hotel with a solid breakfast buffet…read more We stayed here for 5 nights. The room was comfortable and the staff were friendly. Each morning, we had breakfast at the hotel which included hot items like scrambled eggs, bacon (which was different from American bacon), mushrooms, potatoes, roasted tomatoes, waffles, and pancakes. The buffet also had a fruit bar, deli section, breads, sweet pastries, yogurts, cereals, salad, and a made to order omelette station. Beverages included coffees, teas, juices, and even prosecco. The food was the same every day, but there was enough selection that we could switch it up throughout the week. Would stay here again in the future.

The gym area includes a sauna and relaxation room (Does have old equipment and limited space). The lounge is spacious and comfortable, with a good selection of beer, liquor, and Coca-Cola products. It is in a great location to many metro lines. Cons: The bed was unacceptable. We stayed in a one-bedroom suite, and the mattress was so hard it felt like sleeping on concrete. This was, without question, the worst bed we have ever experienced at a Hilton property. The hotel may claim it meets Hilton International standards, but if this mattress qualifies, those standards are extremely low. Despite being two Diamond members celebrating an anniversary and a birthday, there was zero recognition of our loyalty. No card, no note, no acknowledgment of any kind (They were made aware multiple times). This lack of basic personalization was disappointing. Breakfast was mediocre and nowhere near the quality offered at other Hilton properties. There was no made-to-order option, and if one existed, it was never mentioned. The lounge food was very poor and not something we would eat again. Communication was also lacking. The hotel only asked how our stay was at checkout, as we were walking out the door, rather than during the stay when issues could have been addressed. While mechanical issues in the room were eventually fixed, they should not have occurred in the first place. Overall: This hotel looks elegant, but the experience does not match the appearance. The service, comfort, and attention to loyal guests fall well short of expectations. A good-looking property means nothing when the bed is rock-hard and the guest experience is an afterthought. We left extremely disappointed.

Even without decorations, the Art Deco style is so sleek and sexy...right up my architectural alley. Front desk staff was outstanding. Very service oriented. My room was really comfortable and had a great desk for working, extremely comfortable bed and an outstanding shower. There was a coffee maker but I was staying on the exec floor so I went down to the executive lounge for coffee in the morning. The lounge itself was nice with lots of options for drinks and a decent variety of carbs and other foods in the morning. The gym was a little small but very clean. The location was pretty good, close to the Metro/U-Bahn. The Schottentor stop on the U2 line is right outside the hotel. There are lots of trams and buses nearby too. It was very easy to get to the airport from here taking the U-bahn a couple of stops to a train station with a direct connection to the airport. If you don't have giant bags, it's a very easy trip and much cheaper than a cab. Think 8 Euro vs 65 Euro. The on-site restaurant has good cocktails. Service is another matter but I'll cover that in a separate review. I'm a big Hilton Honors guy and this is one of my favorite Hiltons.

Perfect spot to stay in Vienna!…read more First of all, I want to highlight how wonderful and accommodating Ulla Spiess is! I may have been a bit of a difficult visitor after I wanted to swtich rooms. Ulla was accommodating and wonderful about everything. She's also quite nice and really friendly. I visited this spot recently and it really is a super spot to stay in Vienna. It is approximately 3 stops from the "center" of town (depending on what you consider the center) and it's really easy to navigate the trains. The location that the B&B is in is really quaint and there are local restaurants nearby as well, so you don't have to travel to the more touristy area. Ulla had a great restaurant recommendation for my first night there (delicious and inexpensive!). I stayed four nights and had a great time. I was in two rooms while I was there (my fault that I moved). Both rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable. The breakfast area is really charming and there is an area that has glass windows where you can feel like you are eating in the garden. The food is really great and fresh. Cheeses, meats, cereals, juices, pastries...I could go on and on. The made to order scrambled eggs are great, too! Coffee is delicious! Everyone is really helpful and they really make you feel like you are staying in their home. The B&B is expanding - I'm not sure when everything will be open, but there may be more room options soon. Thanks to Hotel Pension Spiess & Spiess Appartements for a great visit! I hope to be back!

Check-in folks and concierge as well as restaurants staff all work hard to keep guests super happy and we appreciate their efforts especially during Christmas and New Year's when the hotel is super busy. Location is absolutely perfect, very close to all the places that you would want to go and at the same time not too close to the very busy areas. The park nearby is pretty nice and it is easy to walk to. Breakfast every day was such a nice treat and the vibes at the district in the morning set a perfect stage for the upcoming day, has great energy. Anastasia was specifically very kind to us during our breakfast mornings and made sure we were well taken care of! She was very kind. We also checked out Pastamara and the bar which we both pretty good and recommended. We didn't get a chance to go to the district for dinner, but maybe next time. I got sick one of the days we were there and ordered room service and was very surprised with everything I got. With the hotel staff for so kind to keep sending me ginger, tea and cookies after they figured out I was sick. Loved our stay and hope to be back sometime soon. Recommend to anybody going to Vienna.

They took our luggage and brought us to check in. We had booked the most basic room that included the lounge but realized a couple days in advance that we had been upgraded to a suite. Then the extra gift was the half bath! Who doesn't love that? We could control the AC and get it to however cool we wanted it. The room was one the best. The staff throughout the hotel were wonderful. Everyone greeted us by name whenever we stopped by. The daily breakfast buffet was delicious. The fresh breads, the cheese selection and warm dishes as requested. The quality of the food was top notch...not regular old hotel food. Great location. Within walking location to many tourist sites. Restaurants galore within a short walk. Great transportation right out the front door. Highly recommend.

There are at least a dozen seating groups of 2, 4 and 7 plus 6 seats at the bar. The bar seats are nicely padded and covered in leather. The floor seated is very comfortable, oversized, cloth fabric. The background music is pleasing and not too loud. The bar staff is attentive and helpful. They also brought out some nice bar snacks. The hotel is extremely modern and the staff are very helpful. There is a self check-in process, which is quick and easy (and located conveniently in the bar). They also offer reasonably priced bike rentals, which is a great way to see the city. The rooms themselves are very clean, reasonably spacious, and have an array of amenities. One thing to note about the room layout, however, is that it boasts partially private en suite bathrooms - the toilet is private, however, the curtain only wraps halfway around the transparent shower stall, so if you are sharing the room with anyone other than your significant other, you should keep in mind that you'll need to set ground rules for staying far away from the bath side of the room when someone is in the shower! I was staying with a close friend, so it didn't bother us too much, but this may be a deterrent for some. The room amenities were top notch - this hotel provides "Handy" phones for guest use - something that I hadn't seen before. These smartphones are fully equipped with cellular service and 3G, meaning you can bring them around the city with you to use for phone calls, Google Maps, etc (and save your own battery for photos)! The room also had a tablet in it for ordering room service and browsing the internet, however, I didn't find it to have as much utility, and could've gone without - especially in lieu of including a different amenity, like in-room coffee. All in all, the attention to detail, modern amenities and location made this hotel a place I would love to return to, and certainly will be recommending to others.
