In 1997 we joined the Ace corporation as Our Own Hardware was bought out by Do-It Best and we didn't want to join them. In 2002 we built a new store and tripled the size of our old store. I stopped in to grab a few pasties (pronounces pass-tees) to bring home after our trip and sure enough they had a bunch in the freezer aisle. The store is logically arranged and despite it being small-town grocer, they'd measure up well against a bigger supermarket like the ones you'd see around Chicago. And the cashier on that morning - she was from Morton Grove, IL!
