Mechanics and business office people were garbage. Went to buy an RV trailer. Salesman really duped us into all this extra garbage that the original cost of $12k became $24k and then added crap to it, and stretched the loan out 15 years instead of seven. All sneaky tactics to make you think you have low payments until the last paper they give you to sign has the total cost of $47k. This wasn't the worst part. Had the trailer already hooked up to my truck, went to lock the doors on it and they would not lock. The locks easily rotated and you can open any door on it. Asked the mechanic about this and he said this is how all RV's are. He went to tighten the lock and ended up crushing the surrounding of the lock inward. Said he would order me new locks and have shipped to my house for me to put on. Next issue was they installed the backup camera as I asked, but the monitor was nowhere to be found. After digging, the mechanic had it buried away in the drawers in the RV. I decided to tell them that I'm feeling fleeced at this point and not happy about this purchase. The saleswoman went to talk to the manager and I could see her with a smirk and laughing about my issues. At this point, I had enough. I told them I wasn't budging my truck and I wanted this RV trailer off my truck and I want this contract shredded. They tried to sucker me into a much more expensive trailer and didn't get it that I was pissed and I just wanted to go home and forget about this entire experience. After about an hour, the store general manager told us he would shred the contract. I should have read the Yelp reviews as the negative ones are spot on. They wouldn't even allow me to test the A/C prior to buying this and I should have known there would be more red flags. Don't fall for their tactics. Also to note, when I looked at this cancelled contract/loan, there were two fees on there for processing that were almost identical. These people are thieves. Go to the smaller mom/pop RV sellers. Those people won't scam you like Camping World (namely the Apollo, PA location). read more

Just an FYI: all these ratings are accurate. Absolutely not the place you want to go to if you want to sell a used trailer, or buy a new one. Unfortunately, Camping World is extremely greedy and knows they can "pull one over" on the majority of the people that walk in there. Our experience was that we were trying to sell a used trailer, and they were taking off money for things when purchasing it from us. They took off $300 because we didn't have the power cord....yet they sell the same one in the store for $90. I understand that they're a business and they need to make money, however this is just NOT good business. You can mark the camper up to your hearts content after you buy it from us. But taking money off for things that you don't even include when people buy a camper from you....makes no sense. You're making double the money! It's greedy. They also tried taking off $200 due to the "tv not turning on". My husband walked over and turned on the breaker....tv turned on. Like are you serious? I'm not sure that anyone here actually knows what they're doing. Because their response was "well we didn't know." Not even worth a star. Absolute disrespected, lied too and my property was damaged. My wife set up a consignment for our 2021 Outback Toy Hauler. Mark was specifically asked if we needed to clean or winterize the unit before dropping it off at the dealership on September 6, 2024. Mark stated that they would take care of any work that needed done at our expense and they would not be responsible for winterization unless they did it themselves. We agreed and met with Mark to sign the paperwork. High insight, the first red flag was when he tried to get us to sign paperwork selling the camper for way below what it was was worth. 40k RV offered buyout Price 28k. I immediately corrected the situation by explaining that he quoted us 35k on the phone after the sale. Then the inspection he claimed repairs needed done to the camper that would also come out of the total sale, which we felt were ridiculous as well. We agreed and signed the consignment agreement. Sometime around the middle of October Mark called my wife and stated the weather would be getting cold soon and reconfirmed the winterization of the unit. Then on December 4, 2024 my wife receives a call from Mark asking why we haven't picked up our unit yet. She states that we dropped it off on the 6th of September and that they didn't even get it listed on their website until October. Mark proceeds to tell my wife that I called him and told him I was coming to get the camper before Thanksgiving. Confused about the comment, my wife asks me if I ever called camping world. First of all, I never called this guy or ever received a call from this guy. My wife set up the whole arrangement with her contact info. All I ever did was drive the unit to camping world and sign the consignment paper. Then Mark replied with the comment "well your time is up, come and get your camper". So, at this point it wasn't a big deal as we figured he was confused about who he spoke with or that he may of had some memory issues. I get in my truck and drive the 1 hour and 40 minute ride to Apollo Camping World to pick up my camper. The camper was located in the front pick up area with several others. I backed up to the camper and started to hook up. The power leveling device had no power, seemed odd that two brand new 8 hour batteries were dead. I plug in to the truck to get power and every single light on the camper lit up like a Christmas tree. Well that explains why the batteries are completely dead. At this point I'm a little bit irritated as I decide to open up the camper and inspect for anything that might need attention before I hit the road. I test the faucet for antifreeze and it's frozen solid. All five faucets are frozen solid and I can only imagine the hot water tank and pump. I walk in to Marks office and politely ask him about the dead batteries and the winterization. He states that there are over 300 campers on the lot and they can't keep them all charged. Ok what about every light in the camper on. They forgot to shut them off. What about the frozen lines. Mark bold face lies to my face saying "You call me and told me not to winterize it, I have the note here on my desk" Are you kidding me right now? So I get the keys and the title back from Mark and finish getting the camper ready to go. I look at the title and to my disbelief it has been signed and notarized sold by camping world. read more

First they said they had to register me and scanned my drivers licence, second a sales rep said can you sit at this table and lets start this paper work... Confused and feeling somewhat irritated, his first question was "Do i own a camper now , what year, what this and that and would i trade it in. I stopped him there and said I just want to see what you have available, so he gets up with no explanation and goes to another office. (the manager) I walked behind him and asked the manager " Can we skip the paper work, im not interested in financing, nor a trade, I just want to see your used toy haulers. The manager explains. "Sorry sir its our insurance policy, your required to fill out first. I told them to forget it! I was already warned not to go on there and now I see why. (side note) I just bought a bran new truck this year and I got to look around first , when i decided to move forward on pick i liked, then we did paperwork. Spent over 2 hours between looking at RVs and the financing process. All went well until the end at which point no one had answers, and they had my $500 deposit. I was told they would look into all the banks for the best financing and follow up with me, 2 days later no response. I called in to ask for my deposit back and talked with Matt, the finance manager. He was extremely defensive, and when I told him I was upset that 2 days had gone by and no one contacted me, he told me it's not their policy or how they do things. He said it takes 3-4 days and I'm not their only customer. If it takes 3-4 days, why wouldn't you tell me that when you took my deposit. Matt said it's their policy to tell uou your payment and pickup date, who does that? I was pretty upset at this point, and he kept arguing with me and pretty much telling me I had to high of expectations. Buyer beware, they might have good prices, but customer service is absolutely poor. Camper World trail your employees how to treat customers and let them know what comes next, campers aren't cheap. Just purchased a 5th wheel from Brooks Brothers in Connellsville. Cash up front $89k. Camping World, you, your hot-headed salesman Carl and your GM who protects said hot-head by throwing good paying customers out of your store with no regard for what actually happened just lost out on a big sale, and you deserve to. We needed an air conditioner for our 5th wheel. I called asking if they had any of the brand and model we needed in stock. I was assured the Furrion brand was compatible with my unit. I made sure give the model number and double check that it would work for my 5th wheel because we had to drive an hour and thirty one way to get the unit. When we arrived at the store everyone was nice and my husband double checked that the unit would work for our 5th wheel. Asking specifically if it would mount to our 5th wheel because we didn't have the bolt access inside the camper. It's a different mounting bracket. We drove all the way back to our camper and low and behold it wasn't the correct mounting assembly we needed. So we had to drive ALL the way back to return the unit. Their misguided confidence cost us a lot of time, gas, and headache. I wouldn't have written this review if they had apologized for wasting 6+ of our time. read more

Do not use Camping World for service on your RV!! I just had a very unpleasant experience with the service dept. After getting a quote for an axle replacement that seemed high, I told the service rep. that I wanted to get some quotes from other dealerships and that's when things took a turn. I was told that I needed an appointment to pick up my trailer and there were no appointments available for a few days. After some back and forth I told the rep I was coming to get my trailer the next day. He told me that I would have to pay $262.00 for the time they had put into the estimate. When I was there to pay and pick up my trailer I asked the rep for a copy of the estimate and his response was "what do you need that for?" After I told him that if I didn't get a copy of it, I wasn't going to pay that he printed it out. Thats when I realized that part of the reason the quote seemed high, it said I needed four new tires due to "dry rot". Two of the tires were brand new. I realized the axle was bent because the inside of the tires were worn down to the steel belts and replaced them just before I took it to Camping World. I took it to another dealership that is an authorized Jayco dealer and got my trailer fixed for approximately $700 less. Bottom line, shop around, Camping World service is overpriced/borderline crooked! read more

When that was not what we were going to do, she lost interest and started texting on her phone and eventually recommended to go elsewhere for what we were looking for. We had Cameron as our salesperson, and he was outstanding. Actually, there were a few there that seemed knowledgeable and honest. Otherwise, though, I would not encourage anyone to go here for anything. We used their online quote option to sell our camper and were given a very low offer ($22,200) for our camper that was only used once and was still in near perfect condition, even with some after-market add-ons too. After hauling it 1.5 hours to the Apollo location, they inspected it, "found" things that needed to be fixed, and lowered the offer by $300. Dumbfounded because I knew how much our model was being listed for online ($33,000), we tried to stand firm on what we wanted, and the General Manager almost let us walk. Initially, he wouldn't budge until another manager got involved, and she and Cameron were able to get him to raise their offer an entire hundred dollars. To avoid hauling it back, we settled at $22,000. Because we still owe on the camper, we must now wait for them to get the title from the bank before we can get our money. To add insult to injury, they have already listed the camper online after a day (despite not officially being theirs yet) at $38,999! Yes, $17,000 above what they just offered us a few days earlier, and they didn't even take the time to wash the mud off the front before taking the pictures. I implore anyone thinking to sell there, to try to sell it yourself first, or go somewhere else. Please don't make the same mistake we made. If you are going to buy one there, take our story into account. And try to use Cameron. ----Update 1---- April 4th, Still no check for the sale of the camper. I check my remaining loan balance online and find that Camping World did not overnight payment to the bank to close the account. I contact Cameron, and he quickly gets me an answer. "they are issuing payment today." Over 2 weeks late, and now there is more interest added to the payoff amount. I'm told it won't affect the money I get, but we'll see. Maybe we'll get paid by Easter. (And how is there a recent 5-star review from 2019 at the top of the reviews?) ----Update 2---- Here we are, 1 month since the sale, Easter weekend, and we still haven't received a check for the balance. The loan has been paid though. But also a few days ago, we noticed the camper (that has been listed since the day after we sold it) was pending sale, and yesterday went off their site altogether. So I assume they got the title, sold it, and now they'll send me money. It has almost been like a consignment, which I was dissuaded from doing to get the extra money that we wanted for the sale. Ridiculous. I also reached out to CSTeam via email in response to their response to my review. Paying us for the camper you've already sold would be a good place to start. read more

Buyer Beware. This place doesn't care about their customers after the sale. We bought our RV in June of 2019 and the day we took it off the lot we had issues with it. Took it back in September for all the issues to be fixed but all they did was take pictures of the issues to send to Thor for review which was fine but then they droped the ball and never submitted the warranty work. I kept calling and emailing the "Service Manager Jason Stiffler" but he would never return my phone calls or emails. So I called Camping worlds Costomer service Jason then called me but was no help he stated that yes they did drop the ball but thats because everyone is new to their position including him. He said the only opening he had was in the middle of December and that he could get me in then for a "inspection" (Now Keep in mind this was August when I called). I had to get a lawyer involved then Thor steped in and said that they would send a technician down to fix the issues. A costomer shouldn't have to go through all of this. Bought a new 2019 Thor 33 ft RV in January 2020. Took it in for some warranty work in March and it was there for many weeks! Just called to take it in again for some issues and was told first appt is end of October. Hard to call this good customer service since we have no tail lights and have another trip planned on the 19th! Very quick to sell them and tell you you get 'preferred service'. I recently took my travel trailer into Camping World Pittsburgh for de-winterization and to have a few out of warranty issues resolved. I made my appointment for service in January and I was scheduled to drop off my unit in later March. When I dropped off my unit, I was told that it would be 10 to 14 days before they would get back to me with a status. After approximately, 20 days without contact, I starting reaching out to them. First by E-mail and then by phone calls. After nearly a week without a response, I started calling every day and was not once placed in contact with a service advisor. At one point, my calls became so frequent that the receptionist said, "its you again"! After nearly a month passed and no response from the store, I placed a call to camping world's corporate office. I lodged a complaint against the store for their lack of response and poor customer service. Miraculously, the day after I lodged the complaint, someone from service contacted me and said my unit was next in line for service (go figure). Within two days, I received a call that my unit was ready and it could be picked up. I scheduled my pickup for 8:00 a.m. on a Friday. After driving two hours to the store and arriving on time, it took nearly 30 minutes for someone to even acknowledge my existence. The fun did not stop there. Someone had misplaced the keys for the forklift and they were unable to retrieve my unit. Turned out that some employee took the keys home and I had to wait until he returned to the store. To make matters even worse, their computer system was down, so they were unable to process my paperwork. I had to make arrangements to settle my bill once their computers came back online the next day. I have always admired Marcus Lemonis and he seemed to be customer focused. Clearly, Camping World Pittsburgh is either ignored or this is a culture that we do not see on TV. I am guessing that if I were there to purchase an RV, I would have received attention. Service seems to be a necessary afterthought, at least at this store. I will not visit this store again. My advice would be to drive a few extra miles and take your unit to the Akron Camping World or find another repair shop all together. read more

I had located an RV here, put money down on it only to have it sold out from under me. Andrew, my supposed salesman had told me that they would hold it for me. What a lie. Then he told me that they would locate me another one, newer, and sell it to me for the same price as the one I had originally dealt on, again another lie. Called numerous times, even left numerous messages only to get no call back. Will never shop here or recommend to anyone. I ended up getting an RV, which is much nicer and better quality, at Ansley RV's in Duncansville. My recommendation is skip camping world and go to Ansley RV's. read more

Bought a new Montana High Country from Charley. The deal was a little more demanding since I live in Georgia. But all went smooth. Was very impressed how clean the interior was for the walk through. All the staff was helpful, professional, and eager and willing to help. Was treated very fairly on the trade in value and the purchase price. I really can not think of anything I would have expected to be better. It's usually hard to rate car and RV dealers high. In this case no problem. We purchased a used RV in the beginning of June and had to wait due to many people buying. We were patient but repeated problems surfaced after that even taking it off the lot the vehicle would not operate because they gave us the valet key. Waited an hour til it was discovered. We used this RV once because it had to go back for the battery for the steps and slides. They really replaced the battery this time but now we realized when getting home that the battery isn t being charged by running engine. Also the RV had A dangerous amount of play in steering and our mechanic near home said it shouldn't t have passed inspection. It's been sitting in our driveway because Camping world refuses to be reasonable with a refund,repairs or good price toward new purchase. So very disappointed with company. Some days you call and leave voicemails and nobody will even return your call, even the service manager Jason stiffler. If you need service on your trailer you'll be scheduled out by at least 3 months than once your in they'll just say there extremely busy and rush you off the phone . It's clear that after this company makes a sale they don't care one bit about you . I would never recommend to anyone . Whew, ok this one is a mixed bag and I waited nearly 2 months down the road to be objective and let the 'new shiny object' syndrome fade. First off, the people are nice - Charlie Sirna was our sales guy and he was great. He put up with me (not my first rodeo by far so I ask a lot of stuff they dont get asked) and he really did work to get the deal. We had planned on making a buy in the spring after the shows- we sold our motorhome and knew what features were musts. But Charlie would not take 'wait' for an answer and drove the sale. So this part is a solid 5. Even the finance guy Mark was a riot to work with (he is from penn hills - you know the type) but more on that later. At present, I am persona non grata there, read on: So now we get into the rest of camping world. I assume all locations are the same. My last experience with them was about 11 years ago in ABQ helping my stepdad get into a class A. But camping world has some operating rules that I cannot rate high. 1) hidden or surprise costs. Imagine my surprise on closing day when I find $10000 of extras added on. The language used on negotiation day is slippery at best. But when you are suffering from 'new shiny object' syndrome.... I threw some away that day and threw away some more a week later. Bottom line is most/all of them are not worth the paper they are printed on. Its just free cash for everyone but you. Quick example: the $718 good sam roadside for 5 years...I insure via progressive and they offered the same service for $7 extra *per year*. The $4000 anti fade package is by contract language not refundable (working on that one at present) and covers the **stickers** from fading. the extended warranty you THINK covers the coach, until you read it, it only covers the already covered appliances for $1800+ Read your sales contract closely and cross them out on closing day. There are other dealers to go to. 2) dealer prep. The $995 dealer prep camping world mandates is a total ripoff. To date, I find they did NOTHING other than verify the lights and AC worked. I had 2 'hey look at this' issues in the first day and contacted Charlie who replied via email he forwarded it to people who would get back to me asap. To date, I have had more conversations with FDR than I did them. thats a joke, but the point is, once that trailer rolls off the lot, you are on your own. Since this is done by the service department, and we have 7 obvious things that should have been caught during dealer prep, we can only conclude that the service dept is not up to the task. There are other dealers to go to. 3) service in general. During negotiation, finance guy Mark actually TOLD us, that if something breaks and you have to come in, even if it is a "brand name" issue, if you dont have the extended warranties, to the back of the wait list you go - weeks (more like months) out and indeed, our maker (keystone) has at least 4 facebook owners groups that my wife joined that say this. There are other dealers to go to. 4) paperwork. Mark may have been a nice guy to joke with, but he got every single paper wrong. Not one paper had the model right, the names were changed (we just got our good sam elite card and it still insists I am married to some gal named 'Paula'. Id like to meet her....) The application for title was done wrong, but since they appear to be a PA messenger, they can push it thru with the wrong fields. Check your title! There are other dealers to go to. 5) good sam. Worthless. If I encounter a product with Good Sam on it, I avoid it. Good sam exists to separate you from your cash. 6) the store. IF you have owned a trailer for more than 15 minutes you know that you can get same product from walmart or amazon for 20-30-40% less. There is this internet thing. People are not stupid. C'mon guys, you can do better or maybe just dont want to. Avoid. Bottom line: Avoid camping world for purchase they DO NOT follow up, there are other dealers to go to. And avoid anything Good Sam at ALL costs. I have more, but out of room. read more

I can't even give a sales review - if they can't service then I won't buy there. We were long time customers of Coopers - Camping World bought out Coopers - when I tried to get warrantee service on my camper (less than a year old) I couldn't even get a return call. Four voicemails, two messages to a "live" person and no return call, no service - NOTHING. I would have loved to have purchased my new Class A from them as they are very close - however due to the experience of CW NOT servicing my warrantee and horrible customer service - we just made the Class A purchase from CampersInn RV who, by the way, has extremely good sales team and service! STAY AWAY....VERY FAR AWAY from Camping World Pittsburgh. It's so bad I even stopped buying from them online - you can get everything for camping maintenance from Walmart for less! read more

(Apollo, PA Location) Don't walk from this place ... RUN. This place is under new ownership. The manager is now a young snotty kid who has a good talk to make you think he is helping you. All in all, it took over 6 months for us to get our RV while they did nothing to it. Only when we threatened them, did they start getting it ready for transport. We were originally quoted (on paper) one price for a service, then they tried to double that price when it came time to FINALLY pick up our RV. This place has all their employees tell you this canned "happy face" response to everything you say. They are taught to tell you about how much they sell and how wonderful they are..... Speak to a former employee and they will tell you the truth. If you want to pay cash, they will toss you aside. They want you to finance so they can get even more of your money. They do not want to help you with anything once you sign on that dotted line. Like I said...... RUN, run fast away from this place. Better yet, don't even stop in. So my family is new to camping out of an RV. We bought a camper at the end of 2019 and used it about six times this year. The camping out of an RV experience is awesome! We did realize that the camper we had was kinda small so we decided to upgrade to a larger one, (basically I asked my wife if we could and she finally said yes!) i reached out the the place we bought our camper from and they just were not very helpful. So I found what I thought I wanted and sent a request to camping world and instantly got a response. I told the salesman Luke what I was looking for and instantly he had three examples for me. I found the one I wanted and Luke again quickly located it for me and we were then in the process of buying a larger camper. Then comes talking to a financial lady, I can't remember her name but she was awesome at explaining everything. She was scheduled for vacation so she told me that I would receive a call from Dan her counterpart the following week however we needed to do a virtual tour of the new unit before. Than happened as scheduled and wow these people are awesome! Dan called and explained everything with the financials. This guy knows his stuff and is extremely nice. The camper was delivered by a gentleman named Mike. This guy is amazing! He has been driving larger trailers for a long time and his experience shows. My experience with camping world has been off of the charts awesome! I would have given more than 5 stars if I could have. A big Thank you to all of them! read more

I recently bought a camper at Camping World Apollo. I was told that I could take it camping the day I bought it. That is not the case. The Emergency Breakaway cable was broken and had to be pointed out before I would even drive it off the lot as I have my PA State Inspection license. I asked what else could be wrong as I suspected they just put the sticker on so they could sell me the camper. Little did I know how right I was. I have had several conversations between myself and Jason the Service Manager and my fiancé has spoken with sales and service representatives when I have been unable to get through to anyone or even get a courtesy return call as I feel they are dodging my calls. A few things that I approached them with somewhat got fixed, but to this day I am still finding issues. I will never trust that location to touch my camper as I feel they do not uphold the state inspection regulations. They just slap a sticker on a trailer to get a sale. I had cracks in the frame, broken step mounts, I had a rats nest for wiring at the junction box, and a pinched brake wire in the drum. That is UNACCEPTABLE. I was also told the wheel bearings were re-packed with grease and they were not. I would appreciate someone contacting me that can resolve these issues as my satisfaction has not been met thus far. read more

I dropped my Motorhome off on March 16th (2019). It took over 3 weeks to hear back from them about anything. This wasn't a big deal as I didn't need it at all. After the three more weeks, they said they were working on getting part numbers to see if things were covered under warranty. They were not, of course. However, here it is, 5/6/19, and I am still waiting on this to be finished. I have placed many calls to service only get a call back around once a week. This service department is extremely inefficient. I will never give them my business again, nor will I ever recommend it to any other RV owners. I am very disappointed in this place. If this issue does not get resolved immediately, I will be filing a complaint with their corporate office as well as the BBB. read more
