Stayed here during TMB. Convenient place, because not too far from TMB but there is a grocery store…read morenearby. On the campground there are showers (not hot and powerful though), eating room with even TV. The area TMB hikers camp is quiet and nice. Other area contains car camping and RV camping.
We stayed here on the Tour du Mont Blanc. I think this is one of my favorite campsites of the trip…read more There is a nice quiet corner where most of the TMB hikers set up their tents. You can hear the creek from there. They also have an indoor area where you can go and sit and cook and watch TV if you want. That would have been very nice in the event that it rained, which luckily it didn't. There is a nice view up into the mountains from this campsite. The guy who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. He gave us lots of good information. This is the only TMB campground where we were able to make a reservation and pre-pay. That was not necessary. Maybe if you have an RV you need a reservation, but not a small backpacking tent. This campground is also nice because it is walking distance from a small grocery store in La Fouly. We were able to stop there in both the evening and the morning and buy supplies.

I believe that it is open in spring summer and Autumn - although you might get away with putting a tent here in the colder months. It is right on the lake front - has plentiful grassy tent and caravan sights and has very private area's for swiming and sunbathing. It's set down from the road so it is very quiet as well. There are bar facilities with tables set right at the water front. The staff are extremely friendly and were fluent in and welcoming to English speakers. I believe that they have occasional bands playing and small festivals but it otherwise seems like a very quiet and family friendly venue. Vevey or Montreux are each about a 20 minute walk around the lake in either direction. Busses stop out the front so it would be an easy venue to get to by public transport. This is a little gem of a place. It's a tranquil, quiet and beautiful location. The Alps soaring over the lake are something that have to be seen to be appreciated. But from here you can also enjoy all the night life and other adventures to be had in two of Switzerlands most cosmopolitan towns. (Well Montreux is anyway - but Vevay is also cool!)

It was a lot bigger and more lively than the relatively peaceful places we had stayed so far. Two negative things of note. We heard some loud noise in the middle of the night that woke us up. It was like a bass track on a stereo that was much to loud. It was like "thump, thump thump." Also, I got kind of sick the next day. Some of the cheese we bought at the shop here is one of the suspected causes. We have no proof but we are a bit suspicious.

This was our second campsite on the Tour du Mont Blanc…read more Everything about it was pretty good. We showed up with no reservation and got a spot in a cluster of tents with other TMB hikers. They have showers, laundry and a bar with beer, food and a TV. I don't remember the exact price but it was reasonable. There was a friendly orange cat walking around. The tenting area was pretty nice. We set up on the grass and there were trees around. The main restrooms and showers are mixed gender but with individual stalls. Not a problem for us but might be for some. There is a smaller building where each shower and toilet is an individual room. I don't remember if they take credit cards or not. To be safe we carried cash for all our camping fees on the TMB.
