The pitches are terraced, and have a rocky soil. No grass lawns. To me, good campings ought to have grass meadows so you can lay down next to your tent..
The sanitation must be divided in two;
There's a new(er) main building with wonderful showers and toilets. And there's the rest:
An older, smaller building, and at the pitches, there's a couple of crap portacabins with showers and toilets.
The older main building has to be renovated and the portacabins need to be replaced by something new. Most of the stalls have "hole-in-the-ground" toilets. There are a couple of bowls you can sit on, but they are scarce. Everything is supposed to be cleaned twice a day, but I've seen tidier places.
In fact most of the campsite needs a bit of a refurbishing. Nothing is actually broken, but the pictures on their website are not a representation of reality.
Indeed, there is a small pool, which is actually fine. But it does not have the flower bins on the railings and the walls need a paint job. The flowerbeds, trees, plants etc are not kept and grass grows wildly.
I think that the regulars are used to this camping and perhaps all of the campings in this area are a bit like this. Which is a shame, because the potential is there.
The location is great. It's only one bus-stop away from Deiva Marina. And the free (!) shuttle goes every 15 minutes or so.. from 8:30 to 19:30. And in general, all the important facilities are available. Cabins, small (2p) and large (up to 6) are there. With indoor bath/toilet.
The gem of this camping is the restaurant. It's run by an enthusiastic couple, who are very friendly. The food, well it IS Italy, is great and cheap. the pizzas are made by hand, on the spot, in a wood fired oven. Fabulous.
So mr. Owner.. if you read this.. get a gardener. And invest a couple of bucks in your potentially lovely campsite every year. It's worth it.
