My daughter tends to be more reserved and takes time to warm up, so I wasn't sure how she would do in a theater arts camp. From day one, Brittnie was so welcoming and accommodating to my daughter. The camp was designed for all different levels of theater experience and for all types of personalities and learning styles. My daughter loved the camp from the start, and she actually got mad at me when I came to pick her up early one day! The camp had a nice variety of activities, including arts and crafts, journaling, and games. Brittnie and Ben did a wonderful job of making the process fun for the kids. There was never any pressure to do the play (on the last day) perfectly. Brittnie encouraged students to use their scripts as needed and she found a way to help each child shine. I felt that the group size was just right. There weren't too many students, so Brittnie got to know each child very well. She invited guests to come in during the week and help with things like voice, breath, and posture. Brittnie also sent a detailed email summarizing the day so we had a good idea of what the kids were working on throughout the camp. After doing one week of theater arts camp, my daughter happily and eagerly signed up for another week later that summer. I highly recommend the theater arts camps with 2B Creative and look forward to having my daughter attend again.

My daughter has been thriving at…read moreTessie and loves going to school each day to experience a unique education model where the emphasis is on learning through hands on projects and well laid out journeys that are integrated into the curriculum. Due to the low student teacher ratio, my child's teacher has been able to tease out my child's strengths and areas for improvement and challenge / support her accordingly. The school is definitely not a 'one size fits all' model, thereby making it interesting for students each day. We moved from an academic group of private schools where monotony had set in and my child did not have an opportunity to look past academics and perceive the broader context of topics. This past year, she has learnt so much across various topic areas and seems to have developed a more holistic personality. The school has also supported with SEL topics and strategies to work on accepting failures, addressing perfectionism and other such challenging areas for gifted kids. The specials like theatre, music, innovation and nature are not just blocks in the schedule but times of the day when my child is able to have new experiences and learn from them and build her skills in those areas. With the new leadership and management change, revision of schedule and curriculum, I am confident the school is heading in the right direction on its mission to offer differentiated learning for gifted students. I strongly recommend this school to other interested parents!

I just want to express my deep sorrow for every family who has been mislead and mistreated by this school. It has been devastating to get a glimpse of the dark reality. Final update: this school is even worse and more corrupt than before, in my carefully considered and humble opinion. We had a deeply concerning and disturbing set of interactions with the new director, Luthern. I remain proud of the way that we handled our interactions, and very bothered by the way he treated us. Furthermore, we undetstand that they are removing and/or drastically reducing the nature campus component of their program which was a huge part of the draw in the first place. We are thrilled that this chapter is permanently closed for us. We finally found the most outstanding school for our children, and we will never look back. Good riddance to a poorly run institution with what we believe is an unethical and corrupt administration. And by the way, the "Gifted Qualitative Assessment" is manipulable. It's largely based on parent surveys, and which parent searching for a school for gifted children won't see their kids as gifted? We all do. Your best bet if you're not a founding family is to make sure you have a ton of money and that you are willing to part with in their capital campaign, and always tread cautiously when it comes to expressing yourself authentically.

If something needs to be fixed, it's taken care of quickly. The gym has everything you need: machines, a few squat racks, free weights, a Smith machine, and a decent-sized cardio area with a good variety of equipment. The only thing I wish they had is a chest fly machine. There are classes going on all the time, and there's a turf area where your child can play while you work out. The turf has outdoor toys, ride-on vehicles, and large Legos, which is a great setup. We use the kids club for our daughter, and she loves it and always has fun. Childcare was the main reason we chose this gym since no other gyms in Cupertino offer it, and it ended up being an amazing decision. Our daughter also does swim lessons here. Brian is very patient and makes her feel comfortable in the water. She has learned how to float, hold her breath underwater, and is beginning to swim. She used to hate swimming, and now she looks forward to going every week.

Positives: Weight room has two squat racks that double as deadlift platforms! You can always find a treadmill open and the views of the parking lot, sky, and YMCA lobby are pretty peaceful to look at as you're running or biking. Free coffee every morning. I've never tried it myself, but that is a unique perk only this YMCA has. Chess club meets on Sunday mornings. I had to stop going last year, but when I went it was a ton of fun and open to everyone. Negatives: The men's locker room floor is almost always wet from kids not properly drying off after swimming. It's pretty annoying for gym goers because we are wearing socks that can get wet; that just ruins our day. Weight room has no ventilation and the fan is broken; it can get stuffy in there. Parking lot has shade from like one tiny tree in the very back. If you don't get that spot, your car is going to be under the sun during your entire workout. Overall, I do love this YMCA. I love seeing families and people of all ages, ethnicities, and cultures enjoying their time off work or school. There's always a good vibe here.

At first, my kids were really excited and came home talked about what they learned and created. It seemed like they had fun. Then problem started as my child told me that her file was deleted couple times and she couldn't find it. I told her to ask the instructor since they supposedly are good at computer. She told me that she couldn't log on because she forgot her password. Apparently this issue has been going on during the week long summer camp. I was not aware until Thursday evening from my child. Then I asked her what was she doing if she couldn't log on and no one could help her. She said she just sat there and listened. 1) we don't learn by sitting, we learn from doing and following step by step (so she wasted her learning time and my money) 2) no instructor aware that she was sitting there and not doing anything? Didn't raise their attention? 3) she claimed she forgot her password and instructor couldn't help her. Coder instructor should be able to trace back her password or reset password for her, correct??? 4) I emailed my concerns and I got back the response from manager that my child was joking with instructor. Yes, if she wasn't engaged and couldn't log on, I know my child would be bored and fooling around. Any child would. All the kids were laughing and having fun in class. I don't see any problem with my child enjoying the class and laughing. 5) couple kids said they had WiFi issues during class. Why would it be WiFi issues when this is a coding school. 6) when I emailed to the manager, his response was trying to point finger at my child that she was joking with the instructor instead of solving the issue and take responsibility about his instructors in class. No customer service. For sure, I won't recommend anyone to this place. Very disorganized and no customer service.

Dan Baird was an incredible instructor (his background as a primitive survival specialist must be highlighted here) as he gave a very clear reality of what we need to tackle i.e. shelter and temperature regulation, knowing your environment, etc. We got to build shelters on what we think we would good for a survival and Dan showed us a much more sustainable version: both in a limited amount of time to replicate more dire situations. We also got to practice tying up gauze in case of heavy injury and bleeding as well as how to properly navigate via a compass (who knew there were two kinds of "north"?!) Overall, I highly recommend and will be back for more! Note: our training was in the mountains of Livermore - your car will get dirt on it!!

Though there was a schedule that listed Matiz class 9:45 am to 10:45 am on Saturdays, there was no information regarding start and end date, so I was under the impression it was on a rolling admission, or that I would receive an email with directions. I did not receive an email with instructions, thus I emailed Art Hub Academy asking whether or not I should show up the next day (Saturday) for the class. Jose Luis emailed me back and let me know that all classes start at the beginning of the month, however he was super accommodating and allowed my son to come in the next day, all due to MY confusion! I apologized for the inconvenience and thanked him for his flexibility and for being so thoughtful. We showed up to the class the next morning, and Ms. Vivian was there. I am extremely impressed with how patient she is. She provided an all inclusive classroom environment that made my son feel comfortable. So much so, that he asked if I could leave because all of the other parents were not present. Usually he does not like to be alone in new environments until he warms up, but he wanted to be alone within 10 minutes of the class! The children were already working on a clay project from the week prior, and Ms. Vivian accommodated all of the children. I watched her navigate the class professionally with an enthusiastic attitude and friendly demeanor. She was well organized and made sure to give every child attention, as well as one-on-one attention. She explained tasks well to the children, and encouraged the children to socialize. She was gentle yet firm in her teaching approach. I got the vibe that Ms. Vivian loves what she does and it truly shows through her actions. When the class was over, I walked back in to pick my child up. I asked her how my child did. It went well, he enjoyed it all while having fun and learning art concepts. I was surprised at how attentive she proved to be. In addition to telling me how the class went, she picked up on things that I was already aware of, but did not expect others to pick up on during a one hour class. For example, she picked up on the fact that my son needs a lot of hands-on instruction and repetition. She even went as far as to ask how she could better help my son. Words can not explain how good Ms. Vivian's attention to detail made me feel as a parent. I am truly appreciative of the professional and patient demeanor exhibited by this facility. I am really happy with the choice I made to bring my child here. My son would not stop talking about how fun the class was, and walking me through the process of "wiring" for his clay model. It has only been one class and I can see the impact that this establishment has made on my child's self-confidence. The developmental gains that my son (and I'm sure other children) are making from this establishment are substantial. Thank you for the love and confidence that you pour into our children, Art Hub Academy!
