So I usually find myself at the Alamo location and so I think my review is based off of having a…read moremuch better time at the other location. I think I was very bummed with this location for a couple of reasons: 1. You have no idea where you are in terms of half way through the class or anywhere near that. At the Alamo location, they have a projector up on a wall telling you the flow of the class maneuver by maneuver. 2. PARKING SUCKS!!!!!! You literally have to pay for parking here and although that may be normal for Oakland natives, it's not coming from more inland East Bay. I actually didn't come with a card or cash so I had no way to pay which led me to going into a liquor store and getting some coins. The machine then ate my coins! Luckily, I asked someone if I could Venmo them the $1.50 but she was so kind and ended up just paying for me. Although she was a lifesaver, I do feel like that should be posted somewhere in the app to let people know. 3. The front desk person was not at all helpful and I felt like I was bothering her when I asked her what I could do about the parking situation. All and all I don't see myself coming back to this location due to the parking situation and the lack of welcoming presence from the front desk.

Love Bodyrok, it's a great workout and a good studio. I have really liked all the instructors I…read morehave taken. The combination of Pilates, weights/strength training and low impact cardio have been great for my body and health. So bodyrok has been a great addition to my world. A few pieces of feedback... Some of the reformers are missing certain weights and attachments. Definitely an opportunity to get these fixed so everyone has the same experience. There is no phone number to call online (that is actually working) if you need help with a reschedule or scheduling error. It's pretty annoying but they are fairly response via email. Wish there was a quicker way of getting in touch with someone. Lastly, I wish there was a better balance of the flow of the workout and education on good form of the moves. 1. So that you are getting the benefit of the move and 2. So you don't potentially hurt yourself especially if you are brand new or in beginner stages. In my experience it's not consistent across all instructors which I hope changes as a bodyrok policy. But all around, love coming to the workout, the environment and will definitely keep coming back.

3.5 stars. I did two week unlimited and took about 18 classes. I liked most of the instructors, and…read morefor the most part vibes were friendly if not polite. Main issue is cleanliness. The studio needs a deep clean (or two) as the baseboards are filthy in the studio and in the two weeks I was there the floors continued to be dirty and only "cleaned" by a very brief mopping inbetween classes. I've been to many studios, but the lack of removing the massive trails of sweat in between classes was not exactly hygienic. The bathroom as others have said also had pools of bodily fluids and hair. I understand it's a messy practice but employing someone whose role is to clean vs manage front desk and teach is paramount. Whatever they're doing now is not enough. This place needs an overhaul in the cleanliness department. I also didn't love that there was no gentle reminders for people who strayed off course for 26 & 2, going late during balancing postures, grunting, and ignoring the rule to breathe through your nose. A few bad apples ruined the bunch for me most classes. One in particular would *always* start his pose 30 seconds after she'd cued it. In my opinion that's something the instructor should've called out, especially when we were balancing. Overall I'll be looking elsewhere for a heated studio but hope this place finds its footing. There are some great people there.

Hi Shelley, You…read moreshould update your class protocols on ClassPass if that's the case. Otherwise, it is not common practice for a workout class to lock out people who have reserved the classes that arrive on time.

It's very clean and I love the changes in the lighting they use during the classes. The customer service here is really good. Kelsie is the sweetest and always so helpful. And all of instructors that I've had so far have all been great. It's a "push yourself, but no pressure" type setting and I love that as someone that is still getting comfortable with the reformer. I hate that the changing/locker room is so small and I am often times left standing there waiting my turn to grab my things or rushing to get my locker together for a class, but that truly my only complaint. I also wished they could do a better job of airing out the room after a class. --maybe spraying a fragrance/deodorizer. This is a good, convenient location for afterwork and I've because of that, I've been in attendance at least once a week. It's not cheap, but not too expensive. I think I'm paying $35 per class and it's worth it.

I usually try to let the instructor know beforehand that I'm still getting familiar with the movements, and they usually suggest that I set myself up at the front of the room and/or next to someone who is more experienced. Most instructors tend to check in on me a bit more throughout the class, which is always appreciated. I try to go to daytime classes during the week if I'm available - those classes are a bit quieter and don't get too busy. That being said, even if you went at a "busy" time on a weekday evening or during the weekend, you shouldn't run into issues if you signed up in advance since it's one reformer per person anyway - it just means you might have fewer spot options if you don't arrive early enough. I like the variety of focuses/classes that BODYROK offers, so even though I don't plan to become a regular, I definitely see myself continuing to drop in from time to time in the future.
