The camp itself is beautiful, set over an idyllic maine lake with two beaches - one for swimming and another for watersports like wakeboarding and waterskiing. It's surrounded by pine which makes for a scent that constantly reminds you of where you are and how lucky you are to be there. The programs are amazing and there is really something for everyone. From water sports to theatre to fine arts to cooking to land sports and even a high ropes course, everyone can find something to love and excel in here. But what makes this place the most amazing is that it attracts campers and staff from all over the world, resulting in a group of people who might never meet spending the summer together - bonding over lip syncs, campfires, ice cream sundaes and lobsters. You never forget the people you meet here, or the time that's spent here because it is a saturated experience. You are free to emote, to live, to thrive in a way that is different from being "home." You can be you without the pretense of who people think you are. If you are able, you should consider sending your teenager here. They will be forever changed for the better (and have a couch to sleep on in every country during their future semesters abroad!)

We stayed overnight in one of their camper accommodations, walked the grounds to see the archery, tennis, basketball, soccer, and hockey venues, and stood in awe at the magnificence of Lake Ossipee. The grounds are gorgeous, and we loved the different camp features that served as wedding venues- the big dining hall for meals, the wedding ceremony on the beach, the cocktail hour on the waterfront lawn, and the gala reception in the rec hall. Our overnight accommodations were neat and clean, and we really enjoyed the Camp Cody experience, as short as it was.

It is run by a very sweet, kind, friendly yet professional and accommodating young family. Jessica and Bob are wonderful as is their office person, Ginny. They are always happy to help in any way they can. Nothing ever seems to be a bother to any of them and they treat everyone with the same friendly smile and respect. We purchased our beautiful new pontoon, last year, from Melvin Village - who, BTW, made the entire process non-complex - they were simply FABULOUS! Torn between renting a mooring or going "valet"was our most difficult decision but when meeting those at Ambrose Cove - it couldn't have been easier and we could not be any happier. We have needed some boat service. It was all done timely and has always been top notch. The valet service is simple and convenient. I LOVE IT!!!! We also store our boat here in the winter and after our first winter - well, we will have many more coming! Whenever we show up at the marina it's like showing up at a family member's home (you know - family that you WANT to visit LOL). They are always so upbeat, friendly and naturally make us feel so welcome. We made our choice based on the activities, the goal of having silly fun, and the testimonials. The camp provided so much more than we expected. The diversity of activities allowed him to break out of his comfort zone and try new things. The cabin set up created an instant comradery that made it easier for the kids that were attending by themselves. He left feeling close to all of his bunkmates, and even shared some tears on pick up day. He adored and idolized his counselors. They are such a great group of young adults that work together to make the experience for the kids life altering. For example, after the camp there was a noticeable change in our son's confidence. He struggles with social anxieties and has a hard time being himself. Following the camp he started a new school in a different town, and he quickly acclimated and had no problem making friends . We credit Birch Hill for setting him up for success. A summary of our camper's review: "the best two weeks of my life, the food was amazing, and I miss everyone!"

We offered to move the cars in the morning and he said fine. 8am the next morning Jeremy the ranger shows up with the police and says we have to leave or we will be arrested for trespassing. This is absolutely insane and heartbreaking. My grandmother was crying. I don't understand how they can treat people like this for no reason. Read the other reviews and see that this is clearly a pattern and not a good place to stay anymore. We are heartbroken and not to mention out of hundreds of dollars we will never get back.
