He Didn't ask to see my receipt and was not rude. Maybe he just felt bad for me and my bloody face. There's a section for day use on the left and the camping area is on the right I get a little scared hiking alone, so it was nice to have a perimeter trail alongside this park Nothing strenuous at all it was nice just to get some fresh air. There are little paths that lead to bigger paths and walking trails. There was 1 trail that is about a 1 mile loop and it leads to incredible views of the surrounding mountains and area. The price is reasonable. Some of the spots are pretty large, and not on top of other spots. There are some that have some vegetation in between to give a little semblance of separation. Quiet hours were 10 pm and everyone was pretty respectful of it. There are pit toilets, no soap, no running water in the bathrooms. The are some water spouts scattered around in between campsites so you can wash your hands and dishes. Not as large as some of the other sites in the area, but it was good and worth it.

It's a big contrast from the desert below , cool air, tall pine trees, and quiet forest trails. The trails around Long Valley are pretty easy, so you don't need to be a serious hiker. It's perfect for a casual walk, taking photos, or just enjoying the mountain scenery. We saw squirrels and chipmunks, and I've heard people sometimes spot deer around here too. One thing to know: it's much colder up here than in Palm Springs, so bring a light jacket and wear comfortable shoes because you'll probably end up walking more than planned. It's a nice little nature break after the tram ride, and definitely worth spending some time here before heading back down.

There was no flat spot at our site for our tent, so we were forced to set it up on a slope. You will also be very close to your neighbors. 2) For some campsites, you will have to drag your stuff up a hill from where you parked. We had to do that at our site. 3) When we were there, people were loud and playing music until 2-3am. Rangers don't enforce any of their rules. There are flush toilets and showers which makes it beginner friendly. Showers are token operated which you can purchase with cash from a machine at the front. Water is pretty lukewarm if you do decide to take a shower but water pressure is good. Although the site is close to the Idyllwild village, I personally wouldn't come back here.

The camp is easily located right off the 243 and is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are very well kept. There's paved areas, wood chips, and it's not full of dirt. The main hall is nicely a/c and there's a beautiful outdoor amphitheater. If you're looking for a camp, definitely consider this one. They even have a pool.

Entrance fee was $10 for adults and seem to be a very good deal considering the authentic Hawaiian entertainment provided. The singing and dancing was informative and fun to watch, really added to the whole festive night atmosphere. Although not Hawaiian, I especially liked the attractive llama that was hanging out for kids to meet. We enjoyed this fun local event while visiting Idlewild and would not hesitate to visit the third annual event next year!

We've interacted with several staff members and all of them were nice, extremely helpful and accommodating. The lake had beautiful views of the mountains and everyone had a great time. During the summer weekends, they have water play for the kids. There is a playground, volleyball and basketball courts and plenty of paved roads to ride bikes or scooters. The RV itself said it accommodates 6 people but personally I think it's good for 3-4 people. If you're very tall, the beds will be cramped for you. Everything you need is provided. Just bring your own food and drinks. There is a market at the entrance to buy some snacks, ice cream and drinks. All in all, we were very pleased with the campground and the great people working there. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed four peaceful days there, and, surprisingly, there were never more than three campers present. The other visitors were all gray-haired, which contributed to the serenity--there were no barking dogs, loud generators, music, or screaming kids. I spoke with some long-time campers who advised against visiting during holiday weekends and summer; they warned that it can turn chaotic. Marion Mountain, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, exudes character and has a relaxed atmosphere that is not geared for partying, although some attempt to make it so. This campground strictly allows only tent camping and very small teardrop trailers or camper vans; RVs and fifth-wheelers are not permitted. The upper loop (sites 1-5) is great for van or tent camping, but parking is limited to one car/van per site, with no extra parking available. This restriction minimizes the flow of day hikers and keeps the campground tranquil. The inside loop features flatter ground for pitching tents, but it does come with close campsites, reducing privacy since the road rings around sites six through ten, which require a short walk to access. On the lower loop, the outside sites are sloped, and you also need to walk to them. The interior sites here are flat but closely packed, creating a cramped environment. I rated this campground one star for weekends and holidays, but it earns five stars on weekdays and in the shoulder seasons. I would absolutely return, but definitely not on weekends! If I want to hear screaming kids and barking dogs, I can just visit my grandkids. If you value a peaceful camping experience, choose your timing wisely!

It's literally two minutes from a gas station and less than 10 from a super cute village center with restaurants, cafes, hardware store, and a grocery store. I will say communication is different here than other thousand trails sites. Other sites we've been to send us updates via text but here is more word of mouth or calling in. The BEST thing about this site is the people who work here. They are so kind, informative, and friendly. We've been up here in the snow all week and the work and care the whole staff has taken to ensure everyone's safety has been clearly evident. We've been here late summer and felt the same way, very comfortable and peaceful. And on a note of the other reviews don't blame the park for disruptive people. There's those kinds of people EVERYWHERE, and for those of us who have worked in customer service we know sometimes there's only so much you can do. Second if you have a complaint about thousand trails as a COMPANY don't leave that review on a PARKS Yelp, they don't control the website or TT customer service lines. And lastly yes most spots are only electric and water, but that's why you have a map, and please why do you expect to park your RV on a MOUNTAIN and complain about level sites, that makes no sense. Come equipped with leveling blocks.
