Loved the place in the beginning. They were great at first and my dogs loved going there, but their lack of communication is terrible. They didn't notify me, one of my dogs was experiencing anxiety which caused him to get involved in an altercation that was not provoked by him. He is on medication and I could have taken him to his vet to get a medication adjustment or more training. They reported he had experienced anxiety for a while now, but never informed me it was happening. They didn't give me the opportunity to find a solution and instead just kicked him out. read more

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. We moved to the SE side of town and needed a boarding facility closer to our house. We've taken our dogs there twice for overnight stays. 1. Not the hill I will die on, but each time I've asked them to clip their nails while they are there staying and they made up some excuse as to why they couldn't do it. 2. We brought my dog's bed and blankets. When they were picked up, their bed and blankets were SOAKING wet, to the point where we had to throw away the bed. We asked them if it was pee or water or just like what happened - they couldn't answer it. We figured out it was water but the amount was insane. You would have thought they threw the bed in a pool. 3. They were very rude when we did drop off and pick up. My one dogs has been having a hard time eating and they dismissed me when I was explaining to them how to get her to eat. She came back with her whole bag of food, barely touched. Needless to say, I'm glad we're moving back to Meridian to be closer to our original dog boarding facility because they would never. read more

Boarded our dog there for eight days. Complied with all of their vaccine requirements - bordetella/kennel cough included. Got a call halfway through our trip that our sweet girl had kennel cough How does that happen? Are they not confirming that the dogs coming into their facility are healthy and have received the shots that they require? We complied yet somehow our dog still caught it, which means they are letting infected and/or unvaccinated dogs into the facility. Not cool. Now on the hook for the vet bill...and our dog has now brought it home to the other two animals that we did not board. Went to tour this location this morning to see if this would be a good place for my dog to stay for 5 days while I was out of town. Disgusting,rude,smelly. When I went to the back to tour where the open play area is and the kennels I was greeted with 3 dirty judge mental looks from the girls who were in the open play area. I instantly felt uncomfortable. I saw one of the girls squirting a dog in the face with a squirt bottle the dog didn't look happy. This place has a negative or add to it if you love your dog and want to make sure that they are well taken care of while you're gone please do not go to camp bow wow. read more

They have webcams in all rooms (so you can check on your doggie from afar). Camp Bow Wow is buttoned up and I have no qualms about leaving my beloved puppy there. read more

Both my dogs (Dominic & Roxie) have been going to (Camp Bow Wow) since they were babies. (Dominic) is going to be five years in October & (Roxie) will be four years in June. When I have long days where I can't get back to let them out, they go there for the half days which is 6 hours and enough to tire them out. (Roxie) is such a social butterfly and loves it especially when they have their "Dane Days" which are the days that most of their Dane clients come in, coincidence but fun. Highly recommend taking your fur babies here, guarantee it. Their always cleaning the floors making it highly sanitary for your loved ones. This place is nice BUT, the staff is not. I have dropped off my young dog for play time, she is one and half years old,.weights about 20 pounds. She is full of energy which is why I bring her here to play. Yesterday, I received a call saying my dog attacked another dog and has been put in a crate. I arrived there and I saw 2 other dogs in the play area. After I picked up my dog I asked to see the video. What I saw was my dog trying to get the other dogs to play by running around them and putting her paw on them trying to get them to chase her. NO ATTACK at all. I have finally came to the conclusion that the employees don't really want to work. First it is their job to monitor the dogs and control the interaction not put my dog in a crate because they didn't want to deal with her. I could have done that at home. There were only 2 kids working playing on their phones I thought one was to be in with the dog play area at all times ??? These kids have no experience dealing with dogs and do whatever works the best for them. Bow wow better get their crap together. I also had to get a refund for all of my prepaid visits. I have been going here for over 6 months and I wonder how many times they put my dog in a crate before when they just didn't feel like dealing with her. I trusted this company and I am shocked by what I saw on the video and their exaggerated portrait of the incident...I was not paying for my dog to be locked up. Completely disguised by this company and its employees behavior and attitudes. Do not take your animal here, not trustworthy. read more

We enrolled our puppy in a leash training course. Three weeks in, things were not working out. Our puppy was having difficulty focusing (the room is VERY small and the way they have the training room set up is not ideal). We came to the conclusion that he really should have started in the level one course instead. We emailed the trainer letting her know that the class was the wrong choice. She directed me to the next available level one training class with no refund/partial refund (which honestly i kind of expected), BUT also with no credit towards the level one class. We were just out 250.00 we spent on the leash training course. I felt like I probably was not the best person to decide on what level of training my dog should start at. Its all very unfortunate. I also feel like it would have been the right thing to do for the trainer to direct us to the correct class before we realized we were in too far over our head. I guess it was no ones fault, but a decent company would at least give us some type of credit towards the new level one class. Let me add that the leash training course we were originally signed up for was not full. The first day of group, i think half of the registered groups didn't even show up. So it wasn't like we were paying for our slot/place. I am just baffled at how the trainer didn't even care? 'Sorry you picked the wrong class. I cant offer you any type of credit or refund. We had our dogs stay at camp while we were gone over the holidays as we couldn't find a local pet sitter like we had where we used to live. One of our dogs is older and the other is a rescue and they normally get very nervous and upset with kennel stays (hence the pet sitter before). They both LOVED Camp Bow Wow. They got to play with other dogs all day and we could watch them on the live stream cameras. They looked so happy and came back to us in a great mood and had been taken care of fantastically. We will definitely bring our dogs back there if we need pet care again! read more

Came here while visiting family and am very impressed with this facility! We have taken our Golden Retriever puppy to multiple daycare facilities in multiple states, so I feel like we have a pretty good gauge on what to expect. Their hours are great, so we left our puppy and 5-year old family lab there all day to really wear them out. Their referral program is awesome, so make sure to tell a friend, so your pup gets a free day. What I especially appreciated about our stay was the detailed information Gretchen gave us when we picked up our pups at the end of the day. Although she said our pups had a bit of a rough day, she was very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I definitely feel comfortable taking my pup here and leaving him for the day. The staff is friendly and it makes my dog happy to go to camp here. She gets to play with dog buddies and I can check in whenever I want on the webcams. She usually goes for daycare but has spent the night as well. On her overnight she got extra picky about her food but instead of just letting her go hungry, the staff made sure to top her dinner with treats until she wanted to eat. Camp Bow Wow Boise treats my two dogs like their own. I've found the staff and management to be attentive, polite, and genuinely concerned about my dogs' well-being. They ask lots of questions to make sure they know about your dog's eating habits, routines, etc. I feel that my dogs are safe and well taken care of there. I have been a big fan of CBW for a number of years, regularly boarding my 3 dogs there, most recently 10 days ago for a period of 8 days. This morning I dropped my dogs, and my normally playful Brittany was very reluctant to go. I dropped them and then decided to watch on the camera when I got to work. Shocked to see the handler in the play area, squirt him in the face 3 different times over a 3 minute period and aggressively push him away when he approached her while she was petting another dog. Needless to say, I picked up my dogs shortly afterward and dropped them at another facility. I was assured when I picked them up that the situation had been dealt with, however I cant risk it. You have lost a great and formerly loyal customer and someone who cant recommend you any longer. read more

We live in Payette and have used Camp Bow Wow for daycare when visiting Boise for the day, and several times when we have traveled. It is very clean, the staff friendly and accommodating and always happy to see our Lab, Zeva. Zeva seems to have a great time and is always happy to go there. She started boarding there when she was just a pup, so it was fun to have the video feed to watch her while we are away too. It was also reassuring that the dogs have to go for a "trial" to be sure they are compatible with other dogs. Plus, they have an attendant in the play areas so if there are any issues, they are quickly resolved. It is a great place and I am thankful that I found it! read more

We have used camp bow wow for about three years now and never had a bad experience. My dog loves it there and charges the door each time. She has stayed for as long as two weeks at a time and always returns to me happy and healthy. They have recently improved their viewing cams so you can watch your dog play. They have great rules to keep your pet healthy while they are boarded there. It is pricey but at least I don't worry about her while she is there or I am away. read more

We took our dog to the Boise Camp Bow Wow with VERY specific feeding instructions. She was in the process of getting over a serious digestion problem. We were going to be out of town for four days and had her food labeled by day and in sealed bags so there would be no problem feeding her. In the instructions we told them she was highly allergic to chicken. We also told them EXACTLY how to give her her meds. They had our phone numbers but when she wasn't eating all of her food instead of calling us they decided to give her some of their canned food. . . CHICKEN. We found this out when we picked her up. Funny thing, the instructions, all typed up for ease of use, was folded in half in one of the food bags and had never been looked at. Needless to say this increased her digestion problem and had to be put down. I hope with all my heart that if your dog has any kind of medical problem and needs to take a pill and is on a special diet that you don't use Boise Camp Bow Wow. read more

My dogs Easton and Weston miss this place. I absolutely enjoyed taking my dogs there. The staff there is amazing!!! If one of my dogs acted up, (example: on thursdays they're extremely busy &I usually they only went on their slowest days so my dog was probably too excited to see so many dogs or whatnot. Apparently he didn't behave as well as he usually does. I was notified and my dogs never went on a Thursday ever again). The staff here has great communication, they take care of your pups, they love your pups, they know them by name, and most importantly they correct your pups in an appropriate manner and notify the owners in advance. It sucks I had to move, but let me tell you, the camp bow wows here in Colorado do not compare to that one at all!!! I wish all camp bow wows were like that one read more

We love going to Camp Bow Wow! We've been members for almost a year. The staff is kind and courteous and always greets Miss Parker with excitement and she loves going. She's giddy when I get her out of the car and she comes home with what looks like a big smile. Day camp is great, they set up pools in the hot weather and I get reports periodically of the new buddies she meets and how she does. They are thoughtful when putting dogs into certain play fields. Parker is about 2 and a bit smaller and they thought she might play with some younger dogs well. They tried, she seemed to be getting irritated and worked up and they pulled her out and put her back in with the bigger dogs and all was fine. I appreciate that these things are noted and told to me and that they pay attention. There is even a Camper Board where they track who is in for the day and who they get along with and don't get along with. Overnight camp is always great, I've never had a worry about Parker being there. As for some people's comments about smell of facility, I'm finding it a bit laughable....because well come on.... it's a dog day care haha. Of course it's going to smell like dog in there. If you had 30+ dogs running through your home daily, your house would smell like dog too! I've no doubt that the facilities are sprayed down nightly and soaped up to be cleaned. You have to expect a kennel to smell like dog. I've never seen dog mess in the play areas that was not addressed promptly so I'm not worried that my pup is in an unhygienic facility. These guys are great. Give it a try for yourself, watch the dog cams and judge for yourself. read more

My puppy Piper LOVES Camp Bow Wow. She is generally hesitant to leave my side, but at Camp Bow Wow she happily trots away from me to play to her heart's content. The staff knew her name by the 2nd visit, and treated her with the love and compassion I treat her with. I have never had any worries leaving Piper in their hands, and happily recommend them to all of my friends. As a treat Piper gets to go to CBW to play, and she adores it. My dog normally goes to a different place to board but since it was temporarily closed we decided to take her here. The staff was very friendly and the location is convenient, but the smell of the facility is unbearable. I recognize that no dog daycare smells great, but the smell here is so overwhelming it just punches you in the face when you open the door. My dog stayed here for a few days and when I picked her up she smelled like urine from head to toe, like she took a bath in it. Before I dropped her off they even gave me a pamphlet as to why she might smell bad when she leaves, but she has stayed at two different facilities besides this one and never smelled this bad--and especially has never smelled like she bathed in urine, so I don't buy it! I'm not sure what happens here but I won't be taking her back because of it. Although the staff was nice and I'm sure she was treated fine, I want to know that my dog is staying somewhere clean, and I'd be concerned for her health letting her stay here again. read more

My dog has grown up here since she was old enough to go to camp and all of the staffers love her. We moved away for a couple months and came back and everyone was so excited she was back they took turns in the years so everyone could watch her that day. Staff is very friendly and most staff are personable. 95% of the time I am pleased with the experience. Occasionally they have been very busy at drop off or pick up and the office staff has not been attentive to my requests or questions. I stopped by on Saturday 11-30-2013 to ask some questions. The front lobby smelled- so strong of urine and fecal- it gaged me and I made a comment to the girl at the counter about the over powering smell and she stated that a dog had pee on the floor- I did not observe any fresh or wet areas in the lobby.,She stated she would have someone come up and mop the lobby. I turned around and LEFT! I believe this should be addressed, and it was not a one time pee on the floor. need to clean up the whole building. read more
