There is a night hike and i got to see lots of cool things that I don't normally see since I don't travel or camp often. The cabins are in decent condition but I didn't even end up sleeping there. We slept at the house with the camp fire and pianos since it was getting so late. During the day we went to the more scary part of the trip. When we had to climb up and walk on wires I almost peed myself. Luckily for my the wire did not break and I did not fall to me impeding death. So you guys should definitely check it out!

I never truly felt a part of a community, until Camp Wingate*Kirkland. School is a place of boxes. Everybody fits into one; artist, athlete, gamer, math nerd, weirdo... At Camp W*K, there are no boxes. We choose new activities everyday. You can be an artist who suddenly falls in love with tennis. A camper on the soccer field can be best friends with a camper in the library. You can do, try, be whatever you want to. No one will judge. No one will comment. The connections I've made there I will never lose. Camp W*K taught me that I am not in a box, I am not worthless, I can make deep connections, and I can be the person I mean to be.

My nine year old overheard me…read moretelling someone that the after-school program at the elementary school is less expensive, but I haven't moved the girls because they love the Children's workshop so much; they'll wanna stay 'til they're too old. My daughter replied, "I love the Children's workshop- it's definitely worth the money, because we have so much fun". My seven year old has said that she never wants to leave and that she wants to work there when she grows up. I'm very pleased with the teachers and other staff and the care and attention the girls have been given. Communication has been consistently great. The children are always excited and engaged to the extent that I have to drag mine away when I return to pick them up. Cleanliness and safety are high on my list of priorities as well and the center maintains a healthy standard of cleanliness and provides a safe environment. Playground and outdoor safety is another area of concern for me, so I appreciate the fact that the staff is even very attentive while the children are playing outdoors and on field trips. My girls feel safe, nurtured, accepted, they "learn cool stuff" and they have loads of fun. What more can a parent ask for? In short, we love The Children's Workshop and I really appreciate their contribution to my children's childhood development and my peace of mind. It is very difficult to entrust your children's care to people other than immediate family. We started our daughter at Cadence during the pandemic. Cadence was so welcoming and facilitated me being able to meet my daughter's teachers via Zoom before we started. Although we were not able to enter the building to send our daughter off, they made it feel as though we could with their awesome report app that they use to send you updates and pictures of your child throughout the day. Through the last few years we have grown to know and love the teachers at Cadence. When we had our second child, we started him in daycare even sooner than we did our first because we had that trust in Cadence. We are so happy with our Cadence family, and would strongly recommend them to anyone searching for care and education for their children.

She really enjoyed the counselors and as a parent I loved hearing her make an offhand comment that they were extremely safety conscious. Another observation she made about the counselors was that it always felt like they really wanted to get to know you. The activities themselves were fantastic. Everything was an activity you could do, but on steroids and with a group of kids/counselors all having a great time. Kayaking, mountain bike riding through great trails, the ropes course (definitely a favorite), swimming at South Beach and a Camp Olympics day with lots of fun games. I can't say enough good things about the camp. The camper/counselor ratio was great, the activities were well planned, the kids all seemed to enjoy it and several kids were about to start a second/third week. We will definitely do it again!

This was the first time in 11 years of coming to Martha's Vineyard for July that our 11 year old…read moredaughter decided she didn't want to spend all day/every day with family. She was thrilled with her choice of Adventure Camp. Ropes Course day was her favorite, but she enjoyed the games and activities each of the 5 days. Counselors were energetic, engaging and well organized, reaching out via email and/or text about any changes and responding promptly. Our daughter can't wait to go back next year!
