This is a place that is fun for all ages, but especially those with younger children…read more The website claims they have more than 300 animals. I don't doubt that number, but it does make the park seem a little larger than it actually is. It is the type of place you can walk through quickly and be there for less than an hour or you can take you time, interact with a variety of animals and spend quite a bit of time. They have a lot of farm type animals (goats, horses, donkey, llama), a variety of different monkeys, camels, deer, fennec fox and even slots! The slots are inside an area on one side of the gift shop that also has the snakes and reptiles. And an axolotl. Admission gets you in to the park, but you can pay more for feed to have better interaction with the animals. They even have bottle feeding for the goats at certain times of the year! Overall, the park is well maintained. I do wish some of the animals had better/more space to run around. A fun place to spend some time if you like being close to animals.

This Zoo/Animal Park is a good place to entertain and educate kids. It's perhaps a little kitschy…read moreas it is a bit reminiscent of seventies vacation activities I experienced as a kid. But generally it is what it purports to be, and that's fine. There are a few "non-pettable" animals such as a tiger, camels, wolves, primates, brown bears, etc. In fact, one of our highlights was the sight of a baby camel still learning to walk. But about half the park is comprised of farm animals. Feeds can be purchased in the office and the portion given is plentiful. The carrots and dry feed were more than enough to last for our visit. This is a great chance for the kids to get outside for a while on a nice weather day. They can see, touch and feed quite a few animals including bovine, goats, llamas, sheep, rabbits and others. There is even a small play area for a change of pace. The admission prices are reasonable by today's standards ($18.50 adults, $16.50 seniors and $15.50 age 3 - 11, under 3 free). Im general, it's a nice day out for the kids.

I have a serious love hate relationship with Hidden Valley…read more Let me start with the pros: - Smaller lowkey mountain = smaller crowds and shorter lines - A great place for a beginner to learn, my boyfriend learned how to ski at Hidden Valley. Every time we go to a bigger mountain (like Okemo) he says he would have been too intimated and overwhelmed, and would not have enjoyed learning there. - Epic pass: if you have the pass, it's super convenient Cons: - The rental process is long and chaotic. Lines can get long and disorganized. - Rental equipment is NOT GREAT. After renting equipment at some other mountains, we feel that the quality at HV is a significant downgrade - The bar (Glaciers?) is way too small to accommodate the crowd. HV is small, but the bar has maybe 10-15 tables, and they're ALWAYS packed. Unless you get lucky and show up as someone's getting up, you're out of luck. - Ice Ice, baby. I get this is part of east coast skiing, but those icy patches are not fun. All in all, this is fine if it's your local mountain, but keep your expectations low. If you're just looking to get out and hit some runs, Hidden Valley is definitely passible

A couple of differences from Seven Springs that I noticed and appreciated: the heat lamps and tent and the wider green/blue trails. I did my first blue trail run here!! I came on a Friday (1/29/21) and there weren't many people, so there wasn't a wait at the lifts. I also had a lot of space to myself on the trails! I liked the towline at the top between the North Summit and the Valley. I got in a few runs at the North Summit then took the towline to the Valley, and I thought that was pretty convenient! We spent about 5 hours here. We also ordered chili and Mac n cheese for lunch at Glaciers to Go, as grab and go items, which took under two minutes, then ate outdoors under a heating lamp. Some people chose to eat indoors at the restaurants, but personally, I'm not comfortable with that. I'm just glad there are options for everybody's comfort. I lost my phone and asked guest services if anybody had turned it in. Guest services was polite and helpful even though they didn't have my phone. They asked for a number they could reach me at if it was found. At 9pm that night, we got a text from Ski Patrol saying they had my phone! Picked it up the next morning!

What a great spot for a hike, but an even better place for a swim, relaxing, a picnic on the grass or some sun on the sand by the water. So after we arrived we hit the trail that ran along the water while taking in the small but beautiful lake. We then proceeded to head into the woods. It was a great little hike and the trails were very easy. After we were done hiking we got the huge blanket and the cooler with snacks and drinks in it out of the car and headed over to a shaded spot under the trees. We sat in the grass area in the left corner of the parking lot and listened to music, ate, drank and enjoyed each other's company for a good while. Then after that we packed up our stuff in the car and headed down to the water and enjoyed the lake which is very clean and refreshing and the scenery is absolutely beautiful. I love that they have sand and everyone looked so happy. They also have an area where you can purchase food and beverages but they also have many other great amenities which I am sure can be discovered on here or on their website. I am so glad I discovered this place. I will most definitely be stopping by again when I am in the area. Enjoy :)
