After receiving a generous voucher for a weekend stay at Rushton Hall, my companion and I booked…read moreour visit a few days following the Christmas holiday (hence the foggy weather in my photos). We called a few days before our stay and had no problem reserving a room. The building is beautiful, historic, very grand and even with its modern upgrades, it maintains an authentic English manor feel. Our room was very clean, well-lit, the decor was lovely and we even had a small balcony overlooking one of the open fields. Before heading out for the evening, we had a few drinks in the hall's great room. It was lavishly decorated, had warm mahogany wood walls, a gigantic fireplace and comfortable lounge chairs and couches to relax on. There was a restaurant pub just a half-block down the road that we went to for dinner... very convenient. Our morning breakfast was served in the dining hall and it was delicious. I believe the menu changes depending on the season but everything we had was scrumptious and we had a nice view of the inner courtyard through the wall of windows. It was a lovely stay and if you're looking for a small weekend getaway in Northamptonshire - look no further.

So when this opened up, i was very pesemistic about it, although i had my mind plesantly changed. The store is really well layed out, down two columns. The staff are great, and the queues are always down very quickly. They do a great selection of cards and wrap to suit all budgets aswell. They also do some small gifts, which are often very nice and also very inexpensive. The store has wheelchair access and the aisles are quite wide also, so makes it easier for pushchairs and wheelchairs. They do a loverly range of wedding items also, at great prices, i recently brough a loverly keepsake bridal teddy for a friends for under a fiver and its gorgeous.

The staff was so very friendly and kind to us- when we checked in late and jetlagged, the front desk reception staff gave us some mince pies and tea as we'd missed happy hour and said to feel free to come and ask for milk or anything we might need for the kids that night. The room was very comfortable, shower nice and hot, and having the great room downstairs was really wonderful to have some space to relax. Thank you for making this such a great experience.
