I had a decent experience with the movers, yes they were late but it's hard to time moves when you have to pack and load and drive to another destination in Atlanta or surrounding areas... the traffic is very much so a factor. The guys wrapped the items I asked to be wrapped, and handled the fragile stuff correctly. My disappointment came today when I simply asked about an item that I couldn't find, I am moving out of the storage unit these guys moved me into and I couldn't locate my vacuum. So I texted both moving companies asking had they seen my vacuum. Mr. Taylor responds 1st asking if I remembered my mover..yes I did bc I cashapped him. So after that my new mover responded saying he put it in the corner of my garage. I replied to Mr. Taylor saying nevermind the item was located. He then decides to belittle me through a series of texts bc I simply asked a question about items his company moved for me. I had to call them multiple times to see what the eta was and was told by the owner, Dave or David (also unprofessional) that the time frame would be between 10-11 or 11 at the latest. Once they came in, they were joking and making mention of using the bathroom.. etc When I said I needed the bedroom furniture disassembled, the one guy- Jonathan, I believe acted foreign to what needed to be done and did not seem confident in doing the task. I simply said I wanted to consort with my husband because they were making me unsure about their abilities and the guy throws his arms up like I was inconveniencing him. I fired the two men on spot. One of my customers used them to pick up a load of furniture and other items and they stole some electronics, blaming me for not giving it to them, when they stood there and watched me put it in a box and place it next to everything else. Scheduled a move in June 2019 with a 9:00 am arrival. at 10:00 received phone call stating there was an issue with the truck and they would arrive shortly. Arrived @ 11ish and began the walk through. Items were not wrapped, just thrown into the truck for a move to storage. Truck got stuck at storage (I just threw up my hands). Storage unit was not large enough, so had to rent a second unit, and a second trip was required. At the end of the day, the final items were moved to the apartment. This was not a pleasant experience, but to add insult to injury.... items were moved from storage this month and the legs were removed my formal dining room table. So my fiancé and I just bought a house and were looking to secure movers from our apt to our home. All of the movers we were referred to were booked and we needed someone available which is how we came up on this moving company. All seemed well at the time of booking and no deposit was paid thank GOD! We booked them for a 2:30p move on a Friday, okay cool. Something wasn't sitting right in my spirit the day of and I just knew some mess was going to commence. Friday at 2:30p comes, these guys are nowhere to be found. Have curved every text and phone call as we were trying to reach them since 11:00a because time is of the essence. It's literally TWO HOURS LATER outside of the window we book them from where they call my fiancé with some BS story about running behind from a move that morning and if we still want their help, we can wait on standby until they're ready. Umm, excuse me? That's not how this works. This isn't Uber Pool for movers and we booked you within a certain time frame, our expectation is that you're there. Plus, if you're running late, why TF was nothing communicated HOURS beforehand when you knew you were running late?! Then had the nerve to offer $30 off for coming outside of the original booking window. GOODBYE! Clearly, these guys are scammers. Did some research online for these guys and it's obvious this is very on brand for them. We ended up booking an U-Haul and doing the move ourselves. These guys are trash. The major reason for my one star rating is that the company did not and would not accept responsibility for taking out half of my neighbors eight foot Leyland Cypress tree. I submitted photos showing the truck tire tracks leading right to the tree. My husband heard the sound of the truck hitting the tree and thought the moving truck had gone off the road. I've give the owner, Dave, several opportunities to make this right. I strongly feel it is his responsibility to resolve this issue. His lack of response is his answer. Moving is tough and stressful without situations arising like this that make it a horrible experience. In order to maintain peace with my neighbors, we will replace his tree. We had 95% of the moving boxes in the garage, only taking one bdrm set, one bed, living room, office, washer, dryer, freezer fridge. They brought a 26 ft truck. It took 2 guys from beginning to end 15 hours to pack and unload the truck, it was a 60 mile move. After 12 hours, their boss David told them to leave it all in the garage to save us money. We were being charged 95 an hour. We are in our early 60's, just the two of us, no way we could lug all that in, besides, that is not what we were paying for! To make it all worse, they gouged the entry way floor, the living room floor and the new kitchen floor with my 3 month old fridge, that they also put dents in. My kitchen table top is gouged, the legs of my love seat are gouged, my recliner has a gouge and the handle knocked off, muddy stairs and more. The guys were wonderful people, I think it was to much for them, I fault their boss David. He said he would repair, it's been a week, I've reached out to him, no response. Think he'll call back? Movers arrived 6 hours LATE! The gentleman that did the move were courteous, careful, quick. HOWEVER, the owner was unapologetic for the 6 hour delay that left me scrambling to get my child settled in at MIDNIGHT! He further added insult to injury by trying to charge me more than the price quoted!!! Seems he should have been offering a discount instead of jacking the price up. By the way, the movers did not know they were late. Apparently, owner took advantage of the weekend by overbooking which left me no choice but to wait. When I called to find out why no one was there once they were 1 hour late the owner didn't bother to answer my call but sent a "call him" text another hour later with no explanation of who I was calling or apology. I wonder if he would have handled thngs like this if my husband was alive?? What is unfortunate is the men who actually moved us were careful, respectful, and wasted no time. However, I would not recommend this mover to anyone! Two friends have moved since my move and were waiting to hear how my move went. Guess what? I DID NOT RECOMMEND this company, I wouldn't allow my reputation to be stained by this guy. If price is your only concern, take your chances. After reading some reviews of this company here and other places, I was reluctant to hire them. We only had a few days notice and most other reputable companies were booked. They scheduled us in for a a move between 12-1. I had little expectation they would arrive within that timeframe but we were flexible. Sure enough around 1 we get a phone call that the truck broke down. Didn't hear anything until after 2, we decided to reach back out to the owner asking for some kind of time frame. Owner said it would likely be after 6pm. (If they ever actually showed up). I saw other reviews about the " truck broke down story" these guys just try and book up jobs with no intention of actually servicing them within a reasonable timeframe. I'll start by saying I did some research and checked the reviews of Come A long Way Movers. There was only one negative remark and the owner responded well to the allegation. I called the owner shared with him what my needs were in regards to moving. I was moving from a three bedroom house to a new home. I hired a two man crew since I sold the majority of the contents in my house had been sold. Therefore, they only had to move one bedroom, living furniture, contents in the garage - file cabinets, boxes and totes. The deck tables, 2 chairs an umbrella and stand and they broke my glass table on the desk. This took over 4-hours, they were moving like turtles. I actually helped take a few items to the truck to be loaded. I called David, expressed my concerns, he sent another person to help. One of the workers moving contents with flip/flops on. Really! The total time to complete the move was 6 hours. I refused to pay for 6 hours when it should have been in 4 hours. They broke my table, the worker was bleeding pretty badly. I gave him something to wrap his finger in. There no first aid kit on the truck they were using and one a employee working in flip/flops. I had to politely ask them to stop taking breaks in the truck to smoke weed while I was paying them by the hour to move. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! The owner David is very unprofessional and does not need to be in the field of customer service. He was great until there was a problem. The footboard to my bedroom suite mysteriously disappeared. I watched them load this from our previous home and even saw it on the floor of the moving truck with the very last piece of furniture to be moved into the new home. It's not a small piece that's just been overlooked or misplaced. It's a 6ft long 4x6 solid piece of wood that attaches the sidetracks and squares the beds up. My king size bed is now completely nonfunctional. When I text the owner about it he was extremely rude and al but made the accusation that I was just overlooking it and his drivers unloaded it. He wasn't even here! He began to over talk me and began yelling at how he did me a favor of accommodating my move. I'm sorry isn't that the business you are in and the service you're supposed to provide. After 30-45 minutes of a pointless phone call he asked where I purchased the bed and stated he would check into the cost of replacing the piece. This was 5 days ago. Of course I've heard nothing. I took the liberty of calling the place that I purchased the bed and it's $110 to replace this one piece. I've text and relayed this information to him and of course no response. I will now be seeking legal action which may in end costing me in the long run but it's now about the principle. I'll replace the piece but I can assure you when seeking a civil suit I will also request for him to cover these fees as well. Also I saw a review stating the movers smelt like weed. I would give them 0 stars if possible. I confirmed with Dave a month in advance of the time and date I needed the movers. He failed to let me know that the 9 - 12 slot he mentioned was a window of when the movers would show up, so I was under the impression that 9 - 12 is when they would be actively moving my items. Regardless of this fact, I contacted Dave a couple times inquiring about the time that the movers would actually show up. He replied a couple times to my texts, and maybe once or twice to my phone calls. It pushed closer to 12pm and I had heard nothing from Dave or the movers that were supposedly on their way. Nobody would pick up the phone and I called multiple times and never heard back. The movers never showed up and I ended up renting a Uhaul and moving my items myself. Our experience with this company was extremely disappointing, frustrating, and terrible. They were very nice to deal with in setting up the move. However, there is no excuse for the experience we had on moving day. The crew finally arrived 7.5 hours late. During this time, they never initiated communication with us to let us know what was going on. We contacted them 3 different times and were not told the truth any of the 3 times. Once they arrived, they were quick and helpful. However, even though the truck left before we did, we arrived at the new destination 1.5 hours before the truck. Again, once they arrived they were quick and efficient. This company disrupted our entire move. Part of our family even had to pay for a hotel room due to circumstances caused by the delays. After contacting the owner several times, I received the words, "I apologize". But mostly I received excuses. He offered no discount or consideration of any kind to try to make things right. In fairness, I did not ask for anything like this, but in my business when I make a mistake, I try to do something to make it right for the person adversely impacted. This company says it's reliable and they care about customer satisfaction but that's not my experience! We contacted this company the day before we were scheduled to move. They scheduled us for 9:30 am and we agreed, because this time would allow us to keep our work schedule. Later the same evening they contacted us to bump our time up to between 8-830 and we agreed, work was at 12 noon so this was even better ! At 8:30 am we were told it's going to be 9, and from then every 15 mins we got a different story. They showed up at 10:15 and took 10 mins to park the truck. This has been the most stressful experience that I have ever paid for. $200 for the most unreliable and unprofessional experience. I would never recommend this company. There's a reason folks refrain from small black businesses, this company is incompetent. If they knew they were incapable of this job, at the time that was necessary for us to meet our own work schedule they should have turned down the job and we would have moved on to another company!
