We spend summers in Maine and frequent many art galleries. Camden Falls Gallery has now become a favorite. If you are looking for quality art, primarily with a Maine theme (including wonderful coastal and boating scenes), and don't want to overpay for mediocre artwork, this gallery should be near the top of your list in mid coast Maine. The owner is very knowledgeable about his artists and their work and goes out of his way to see that you are fully satisfied with your purchase. In our case, he willingly offered to swap frames, even waiting for "the right one" to arrive a week later. We highly recommend this gallery. read more

We toured an amazing number of art galleries over a 3 day period in both Camden and Rockland and found this one to be one of the least interesting. Upstairs sells gift shop fare while downstairs overwhelms with paintings covering almost every available wall space unlike the better galleries that highlight individual works of art. read more

It had been a few years since my husband and I had ventured into Camden Falls gallery, but we're so grateful that we decided to step inside again. We were so impressed with the volume and artistry of the paintings gracing the walls. The gallerist, Sandy was very engaging and knowledgeable about all of the artists. We were also impressed with the prices, which seemed very reasonable compared to some other galleries we've been to. We ended up buying two beautiful paintings. Find here many new skilled artists who come to Maine or live in Maine to paint the local landscapes, seascapes, and wildlife. The general themes shown combine to present a vast natural feel. The gallery feel is laid-back. The renditions are mostly natural palette, and typically in a style of modern realist, impressionist to expressionist, modern American pre-Raphaelite, to mid-century Utopian; all with coastal scenes and fauna embedded. Some artists are plein-air so you may find the oil paint fragrance is fresh and the paint itself has yet to fully dry, along with some strands of hay attached (Colin Page, "In the Shadows" (of Owl's Head), 2007).
