However... since the people doing the supporting has changed, the kindness and vibe has changed completely. The people that run it are downright rude, snobbish and elitist, none of which supports the arts and its patrons! As of 2023, we visited JP Henry's art reception July 23 and that was a joy and wonderful. However the serious grump of a woman with the German accent behind the counter was unabashedly and shockingly downright rude, obnoxious and bullying to the patrons! I found out she SITS ON THE BOARD of this organisation! It was the first time I felt uncomfortable visiting an otherwise joyous occasion. Disgraceful to not only the showing artist but anyone in attendance! I witnessed board member of CCAC give a young man a hard time from the moment he entered the gallery saying "Oh no, you better not start trouble!" ?!?!? And when he, like other patrons went to get something to eat she YELLED at him telling him it something to the effect that it was a "snack" and he wasn't welcome there for dinner? Way to drive people AWAY in droves! Now I was pleasantly surprised when we visited main street for a holiday theme thing and we went into CCAC and they did have an amazing set up of a wide variety of artists selling for the holiday season at great prices, which is how I accidentally discovered them a couple years back and have been to events and receptions and they were all wonderful but honestly if this lady has anything to do with the org, I will think twice before coming. What a downer!

Stopped in for a lunch this time instead of spending some time to help the local community with…read moredonated items and food for the Delaware Food Bank. The Food Bank has benefits the different communities nearby, like Newark and Wilmington, with items being donated to help those in need. I have helped with different groups throughout my time in Delaware and have always been a big advocate of trying to support local non-profits whenever I get a chance. This sometimes has a delicious reward with money spent at the Discovery Cafe supporting the cause while enjoying some yummy curry chicken salad wrap for lunch on my day off. The Cafe has some indoor and outdoor seating along with some fresh produce for some homecooked meals at home. Stop in to help the Food Bank during their different events, volunteer with friends or your company and enjoy some yummy meals afterwards all going to a great cause.

They max out adult/children ratios, so it's not surprising the staff doesn't have time to see clean. On that same note, I try to be a pretty understanding mom when it comes to the daily burdens the staff endures. That being said, it's allergy season and for some reason, even after asking the staff directly via morning check-in paperwork - they still leave my babes nose crusted. It's pretty disappointing.
