I started going to Grace Community Church about 10 or 11 years ago. I found the church members and…read moreit's community to be very friendly, and loving, and caring. The new pastor has been with us for 10 years now, and we have had remarkable changes going on. They have two services on Sundays, and one during the summer. There is childcare for infants I believe, and Sunday classes for children up to 5th grade I believe. Our pastor preaches the teachings of the bible very well, sometimes using personal experiences in his sermons. His sermons are truthful, meaningful, and well worth listening too. We have one pastor,Rob, and an associate pastor, Matt, who fills in when our pastor has another commitment, or needs time off. There is Womens Bible study group, a Men's Bible study group, we also have many small bible study groups so that you can get to meet and know different people in our church. There is also a teen service for young teenagers, and they also go on missions trips, and do many other exciting things during the year. There is usually a missions trip for about 10 days each, to our sister churches. One in Naivasha,Kenya, where members, and locals, with the aid of our contributions have helped build an orphanage, with a water well first, then a church, a kitchen I think, and rooms for the children to sleep in. They now have a large garden, and our church members also helped to build a fence around the property to keep animals out, when we first started going there, several years ago. In Haiti, we help and support an orphanage there too. Several of our church members have adopted children from there, after they had that devistating disaster there. Looking forward, is what our new pastor Rob has been doing, and we had a capital campaign to buy some land on which to build a church, since our current church is in an industrial area, and it would be nice to have our own church, instead of paying rent. So , we raised a substantial amount of money, and a group of men from our church, after an exhaustive search, found a very nice location for our new church. It is now our land,in Westford, as we have purchased it. Soon, this month, we will have a service on our land, and will get a look at what the architectural company has come up with for how our new church will look. Then our church elders will announce the start of our capital campaign, so that once we raise a certain amount of money, I'm guessing, construction can begin on our new church. It will be done in phases from what I've seen. The people are great, and we have good fellowship at the various functions, bbq's, meals, and dinners, our church has for its members. Come check us out at the above address. I think you'll find a new place to worship thst you're going to like, and a new home.

I love going here!!…read more It's a great church with loving and truly caring leadership and volunteer team. The church goers here are from all walks of life. It's not your ordinary church and I do agree with Brandy on a few things however the most important aspect of Christianity is to love like Christ loved us. I love the fact that the church dose not play politics, in fact it's refreshing to me. If your looking for a strike and flavorless church this is not the one for you. You will need to put in what you want out of the church. This church is self is open and very welcoming. These a coffee and tea bar. If it's your 1st time let them know and you get a drink on the church. You also will have your own parking spot. They also have an amazing child care/Sunday School. There's different rooms for different ages. My daughter LOVES it. It's very joyful to me when I ask my daughter what she learned today and she's mentioning the Bible and showing me what she made. The lady who runs the Sunday School is not messing a round one bit. I feel extremely safe dropping my child off. The teachers are amazing. HOH currently has 2 very knowledgeable, very talented and down to earth pastors. The church has a few different elders that are at the church but not very known unless you ask to speck to some one about faith or something else The teachings are easily relatable to any one person no matter what's going on in your life at that moment. The teachings can easy be applied into your daily life and make you feel good about your self facing Monday mornings and that week. The music is not boring old people music at all. The music is very upbeat and sounds more like a Christian rock band at times. I really LOVE the music, I'm sure we can thank the fact that both of the pastors are extremely musical inclined and are part of the band itself. The church has a great website that is updated regularly and you can watch weekly teachings and see what's new online you can also give you weekly tides online as well. HOH is filled with a very nice people that are willing to help you no matter who you are or what your facing but you need to take the 1st step and ask as the church is not pushy and is very relaxed. The services are: Saturdays-5pm (no during Summer months) Sunday- 9:30 & 11:00 am If you come by ask for me Mick I volunteer for first impressions team and Compassionate Care I would love to meet you and show you around and get you that free drink.

This church is way underappreciated. I can't believe if doesn't have 25 five star reviews by now!…read more My husband and I found this church community in early 2009 and were so happy to have a relaxed atmosphere, good teaching, fun music, and some technology in the service that isn't attention grabbing but gets the job done. People dress cool but not pretentiously, and if you walk in a little late there are still plenty of comfy chairs to go around and no one will make you feel bad for those ten extra minutes of sleep. I am inspired by the church vision -- "live fully, love deeply, give freely." That pretty much says it all to me in a world where people often live as if tethered to fear. Freedom!!! The pastoral team is intelligent and talented, but without over-intellectualizing a topic. I like Jed's real, conversational way of speaking and I always took a few points away from me on even the most hackneyed of themes. The team that does the programming and design for the publications and slides during the service are highly talented. Set design changed with the different teaching themes (why yes, they *did* suspend a bed from stage during the series on sex last year!) and I was always happy at the way Harbor unselfconsciously integrates the arts into their programming and services. I also appreciate that the church has a wide range of people, from young families to teenagers to more "experienced" folks.... and for a place as seemingly white-bread as Chelmsford, there's a bit more than the normal ethnic/cultural diversity as well. I can't remember why we had a bit of an issue when we first tried to attend; I think the mailing address listed on their website is different from the actual street address. They're located in the Chelmsford Mills across Princeton Street from Bainbridge's Restaurant. There are always good signs pointing the way on Sunday mornings before the services (Sundays 9:30am, 11:00am). An extra hat-tip to Tom, this guy on staff who teaches a "Financial Peace University" course on Dave Ramsey's financial material. Cheesy name, but fantastic information. The class is 13 weeks long, 3 hour classes once a week and it's a big commitment but your life will be totally different after taking it. I think they typically host this class once or twice a year. Big thanks to Harbor of Hope for being real, honest, and unafraid to talk about some uncomfortable things with aplomb.

This church is AMAZING…read more Both my wife and I loved the service and the passionate people who make up such a great and welcomed addition to the city of Lowell!! Being 1st time guest we were warmly welcomed by the church's body of both other consistent parishioners, Pastor and Elder. The church building itself is large, bright, and has a club (not like Webster hall) like auto system It's also nicely laid out. Extra space for the kids to run around and play a simple game is catch with a small nerve foot ball in side a church.....Yes you read that right play foot ball inside a church. How could you not love this??? God and NFL. You get the vibe from looking at the outside of the building that this is a True church that was build for the decades to follow and updated with love, passion and attention to every last detail. I was immediately hit with the sense that something very special is going on in this place. Bigger then any one can really wrap there mind around in my opinion The whole church not just the building but more importantly the body that makes up the church has an amazing and truly inspirational story. I believe that the church is only as big, spiritual, humble, and loving as the people who worship there and you will find all of these people in this House of God. The pastor him self is very laid back, down to earth and personable. (3words same meaning I know) He has been gifted with a naturally organic gift to spread The Gospel. Is it bad if I say I would grab a beer with him?? He's sermon become full circle when he applied a teaching that the Bible tells us occurred over 2K years ago and brought it home when he told us how we all have Spears throw at us in our daily life and gave us ways spears can be low point we face daily. He also made a valid point when it was said it's how we face those challenging times that make us better. It's about pulling the spares out of the wall or keeping it in and not questioning Gods well. (Kinda wordy but I can't seem to put this paragraph in less words) I would be bat $hi% crazy and need to see Chip the church's sole elder and Medical Doctor if he was a psychologist (he's not he's a vascular surgeon) if I did not mention the music leader. I know the entire music staff is truly gifted, it takes a LOT to go on stage and sing, but I did not hear there voices well. Back to the music leader- Her voice is powerful enough to transmit and carries through out this large church. She has tones of grit and grace If that make any sense. I was setting there and just said to my self her voice is gracefully grit. What a gift/talent she has!!! She is not only singing but playing the keyboard. She writes her own songs and dose not sing your grandfathers Christian music, hers is upbeat and happy. The music is sang with beauty and such grace. The songs have deep really deep meaningful meaning that are put up on a huge projector on stage. The church has a growing congregation it seem as they had about 50/60 people when I want today. They just launched in November of 2015. Here's what I loved the most; all the people were unique in there own God given way. Young, old, Black, Asian, Hispanic, White. Christians, Catholics and maybe even non- believers. Just a great group of people that care for one another enjoying great music followed by a well thought out sermon given by a man who dose not make it seem like he's giving you Bible lessons but more friendly wisdom that happens to be in a church and he is just so happens to be a Christian Pastor You can't afford not to go to this church. My wife and I are looking forward to going again at some point hopefully be able to partake in the Lord's Last Supper as they don't do it weekly. We're Also looking forward to seeing the fully immersion Baptisms and in the words of Chip "The BIG banquet that follows."

The hymnals are still put up the old fashion way wooden board and all. The tradition I loved the most was when Ryan the pastor asked the parishioners about pray request. This may seems like not a big deal to you but it truly is. Your asking your self Why?? This is not seen in most church's anymore. It had build a sense of trust and camaraderie with the family. That right I said family why because that you see when you walk in and its what you hear about when you talk to people that go there. It's a church family that is always looking to expand. As you walk in the front door your immediately overcome by the amazingly precious blue light waves. This blue holo comes from the floor-to-ceiling blue stain glass fills the church's space and warms you all as you walk in. It gives you a sense of blessing are coming your way. My daughter really had fun at the Sunday School she brought back a gift that she made for my wife and I. The school is taught by the Pastor's wife which I loved because is remained me when I went to Sunday daycare with my parents. If you bring your kids you will also find that you just don't drop them off as you walk in kids are actually welcomed to stay with the parents for the 1st scripture reading that comes from the old testament the Palm Sunday were visited. Surprisingly my daughter did not kick the benches in front of her or scream bad words (Miracles Can Happen) she was quit and sat there listening and then asked me questions about God while we were driving back home after service. This is the 1st time she has asked me a question about faith. MMC also has a lot of events going on. Check the website as its updated regularly. Look for Ryan's Blog it's a cool read. The music is traditional and very upbeat. There is a young girl who's name I don't know that has been truly blessed with the great talent of playing the piano. Makes me want to put my daughter in piano lessons and then have go on talent shows and win money.... We're was I?? The lead signer is named Chuck I believe. Chuck has a very cool voice country with a little bit of Massachusetts Twain and grit added. As he was signing you felt that love and passions he has. He not only sings but also plays the guitar with a very cool cross patch on his neck strap. I collect patches so I noticed. The Pastor Ryan him self is a great guy. He loves and is really proud of the church and his county. He unselfishly seats on a public seat to beautify the community in which he lives in and were the church is located. He also sings and plays a signal drum thing. Maybe called I Bongo I don't know. Here's the kicker for me Matthews Memorial Church is over 150 years old it's has a rich and unique history of being in Lowell, MA and then replanting I mean church building and pastor's house and all not just the location to Chelmsford, MA. The fact that this church has that much history may lead you to ponder if the Pastor is old maybe ancient and has been set in is ways of old outdated teachings and just boring. You would be complete wrong I mean wrong as........ lying to a pastor in church wrong or lying to a cop wrong about why you were speeding on I-95. Ryan is young fresh, full of energy and has a passion to not just spread but to truly understands and most importantly LIVING the Gospel day in and day out. He's a voice in the Community and a bold leader in the church and is not afraid to do things his way. Ryan him self is redefining what it means to lead service at MMC. He's open the door to give fellow church goers a chance to go up on the alter and read the Bible. He's brought a updated feel to this place all while keeping the rich history alive and respecting what former pastors laid out for him. After the service ended we might as well hear Sinatra's I did it my way. I'm sure Ryan may want to hear Diamond's Sweet Caroline instead. On a side note I love Sinatra's New York, New York!!!!
