Caltrans is a joke and dis-courteous. Blocking my driveway while jackhammering at all hours of the night.... ridiculous.

I have mixed feelings about this one but they cancel each other out with a solid 3. Used to get timely response when submitting maintenance items to be fixed on the freeways - now, response takes up to a month from the initial submission. However, once the response is received follow up is excellent from those responsible for fixing the issue - they will usually respond or send a copy of their response to you reporting what was done to correct the problem you reported. Maintenance overall seems to be occurring quicker than in the past - at least on the several things I most recently reported. Again, initial response time is disappointing and the only thing keeping this from a 4. In the past it used to be 48-72 hours for an initial response - now it is one month.

Nice place to work and very convenient to public transportation and freeways. Plus after 5pm you can park here for free if you are heading to Old Town.

This isn't a business, it's a California State run agency... Caltrans maintains our state highways within California.

The best part about this port were the employees that picked up our luggage at the beginning. Very nice and helpful. We arrived exactly at our embarkation time and had to wait outside in the sun for 20 minutes. An employee let other people with later embarkation times in our line. From there the process took another hour and a half in different lines inside the building. For the disembarkation, we did another over an hour line. All crowded in a tiny space next to the boat. Once we entered the building they crammed us even more. They told us to create another line next to the people already in line. The other passengers were not happy about that. The employees wanted us out of their way to get the next embarkation people in. It seems like some employees forget about the virus when it is convenient for them. While outside an employee from the port told us to keep moving when we were asking another employee for directions. So rude! He did not let the employee finish what she was saying. We were not blocking anything or anyone, just to the side of the wall. Very annoying!

Free parking in a small lot, I think it has a tine limit though. There is plenty of free parking on the street, just make sure you turn your wheels toward the curb or you will get a ticket. The Park is small but well maintained. Meticulously manicured landscaping. Ranger on site. Restrooms are very nicely maintained but only open limited hours. At least you don't have to walk over to old town. I got to enjoy it on a nice spring Saturday morning. Enjoy the photos.
