If there's one job that's NOT for me it's calligraphy. I have the handwriting of a 5 year old. My friends have spent countless hours making fun of my scribble scrabble. And I'm also seriously ADD (self diagnosed) and sitting there writing the names and addresses of hundreds and thousands of invitations sounds pretty hellish to me. Lucky for handwriting challenged ADD folks like myself there are experienced calligraphers out there like Ellen Bogonoff! She's been doing this a long time...in fact, my mom just told me that she actually did the invitations for my bat-mitzvah and that was 14 years ago! Yep, I'm no spring chicken anymore. I've never actually met Ellen (mom did and gave her the stamp of approval), but I admired her fabulous handwriting as I stuffed invitations all day long. And when I emailed her with a few corrections (address mistakes we had made, everything she did was as perfect as her handwriting) she sweetly replied that she'd have them ready by tomorrow! I'm a fan, my mom's a fan, and our wedding guests will be a fan when they get their beautiful invitations! read more

Ellen is the absolute best! I contacted her in the final hour and needed about 140 cards with calligraphy - my cards didn't even arrive until about a week before my event due to a shipping delay but she never made me feel worried about timing. When they came in, we met and reviewed all of the options from her giant book of font samples. She made a few suggestions and explained her thought process, took the cards and had them completed in two days! When I found a couple misspellings and had a couple new cards to add, she turned them around a day later. So flexible, talented and so so nice! She is awesome and will get the job done! read more

Ellen's calligraphy is the most beautiful finishing touch to any invitation! She is extremely talented and highly professional! I needed about 115 envelopes to be addressed for my wedding and she got them done in about a week. I couldn't believe how quickly they were done and to perfection! She matched the exact font I used for my wedding invitation too. Her calligraphy adds a level of sophistication and detail that you just can't get from printing or anywhere else. She was so easy to communicate with every step of the way! She even verified my addresses and made necessary corrections. The only downside is that I have to mail them all out and just want to look at how beautiful they are! I cannot say enough about Ellen's expertise and highly recommend her! read more
