These people were a blessing from God!!! We booked a room for our neighbor who is elderly and disabled, to find out that the room was upstairs. My husband took the day off of work so that he could help her up to the room. When the manager saw her struggling to get up the stairs, he immediately redirected us to a ground floor room, completely set up for disabled persons, including a LARGE walk-in shower and shower chair! She was able to safely have a hot shower, which she hadn't had in a while because she is unable to use her own. Then, he told us that if we ever had need of the room again to let him know! Our neighbor has had a really rough time as of late and we have been working hard to help her, so to have the Inn's exceptional service to ease our troubles was phenomenal... The room was clean, well set up, and comfy. The location is great because it is just down the road for us and very easy to find from the street, close to the freeway. They have a spa, as well. We didn't use it, but my neighbor was sure drooling over the prospect of it! Thank you soooo much Calimesa Inn Motel for making the start of our long day very smooth and worry-free! Thank you!!! read more

One star is too high. Filthy. Noisy. Owner would not refund me so I could go somewhere else; and he became hostile. He confronted me every time I came back - walked out to where I parked. I was afraid - I had my nephew, a police officer, come to the parking lot until I got in the room safely after the first day of him coming to the parking g lot and berating me. The refrigerator did appear to be relatively new. The room had relatively new paint. Had to go buy clean sheets, pillow and blanket. Paid for a day gym membership so I could shower in a clean environment. Please save yourself and stay any other place. read more

Family that runs it is nice but this motel needs some help No blankets in the room, jets in the tub didn't work, cupboard for ironing board was falling out of the wall and the door would stay closed so you had this hanging thing just open exposing the ironing board the whole time Ironic because we were told multiple times that there would be a fee if we smoked in the room, we would never do that , I don't even smoke but the ugly, old, stinky bed spread was full of cigarette burns! The toilet paper roll was stained with something brown and the overall place needs a good cleaning and remodel Sorry read more

We were desperate so we stayed. We got evacuated because of a fire and then a mudslide so we were pretty wiped out from being at the Red Cross evac center for days. So we looked and this was the only place with rooms available. It's a motel. And I believe people actually live here by the stuff outside in the parking lot. The younger Indian guy at the front desk was nice I explained our situation and he said I was able to check in at 10:45am instead of the usual 1-4pm. Our room had wood floor instead of carpet so that was nice. Cons: Our blow dryer in our room didn't work but the maid brought us one that did. Our toilet shot out water out of the back every time you flushed. We had to ask for more toilet paper. Every time u turned on ur ac and someone that was smoking walked by it would go into your room. It had a fridge but the freezer part didn't work. Also after myself and 2 daughters showered I noticed a weird light in the bathroom ceiling fan. When we asked the nice maid about it she said "she doesn't know every room has them" then about 5 mins later the manager came and said they were censors for the bathroom. But the fan and light turned on with a switch so i dont know what a censor would be for. So we covered it with paper. It gave us a place to shower and hang out at until 7pm when the evacuation was lifted. Would I come again? Prob not unless we were desperate again. read more

Stayed at the Calimesa inn a few times & have always a problem(s). He rooms are furnished with only the bare minimum. Felt dirty & old. A/C -heating unit was broken & the air it did blow was not heated & smelled like mildew & smoke, & the dust- caked filter looked like it had never been changed. Won't waste me money here again. read more

Room has overwhelming smell of chemicals. Not a clean smell , but very strong aroma- hard to get used to. Almost like incense smell. Bedspread has cigarette burn hope on top ( not smoking room) Tv is tiny and way outdated. Wood blinds are nice- soap and shampoo in place - 1 good pillow out of 3. I feel like this room is way overpriced for the way it smells. 2 desks with no table lamp. Top of chair seat fell off when I moved it - not really what I would expect for $138.00 - a few changes in lights and get rid of the smell and it would be ok. -new bedspread please! read more

Update: I called to ask around 6-7 AM if they had late checkout available (it said online they did) and everyone in the front desk staff said the latest checkout was 12 PM and it would be an extra $20 and they make no exceptions whatsoever to this policy. The shower was also having major issues in terms of being workable. I offered to pay extra but didn't want to stay for a whole additional night because of work the following day. I simply asked for a 1 or 2 PM checkout time and offered to pay them $10-20 additional per hour. Instead I woke up to some random person knocking on the door trying to get us to leave around 10 or 11 AM. This is unbelievable considering the prices for the room were already so grossly elevated due to a local festival ($480 for 2 nights with a shower that was nearly impossible to operate). The staff went from warm and inviting to cold and temperamental and vaguely threatening. Another update, at 12 PM the front desk employee called me and passively aggressively said "Hello ma'am this is your 12 PM wake up call." At 12:05 PM he said he was waiting outside the front door for us to exit immediately and that if we didn't we would be forcefully removed from the premises because the housekeeper needed to clean our room. The housekeeper was nowhere near our room to begin with. They clearly don't care about customer retention or loyalty. ---- This hotel feels very homey and the staff are very kind, welcoming, and made us feel safe. The room was clean, quiet, the heating worked great, and the location is near a lot of restaurants and grocery stores as well as the gorgeous mountains. We came here for a music festival and enjoyed staying here as it was a peaceful and quiet retreat. I'm surprised this place doesn't have a higher rating. It felt like we were in our own studio apartment. We will definitely stay here again the next time we're in the area. Our room had a patio with a great view but next time we'd be interested in one of the jacuzzi rooms! read more

Hey, it's your standard motel....a place to rest your head when you don't want to drive back your house 2 hours away after a wedding reception that you leave around midnight. With that said, don't expect much. We chose this motel for the price and because it was the closest and non-sold out place to the reception. It was a swelteringly hot day in Yucaipa when we arrived in the early afternoon (100F is hot for this wimpy San Diegan), and we were sooo relieved that when we entered our room, it was comfortably cool; the air-conditioning was on full blast. In addition, the room was clean, and our king-sized bed was comfortable. While the furnishings were non-descript and a bit dated, everything was adequate. All we needed was a place for 1/2 hour to change, then to sleep in when we got back. Again, don't expect the Ritz; no sundry store or gift shop. However, the free Wi-Fi worked well and there is a thrift shop nearby. We were cutting it close to being late when husband realized that he forgot a belt (and was uncomfortable without having one) so I yelped the area and found that there's an LDS thrift store adjacent to Calimesa Inn's parking lot. Breezed in, found a $1 belt and wham-bam-thank you ma'am...we're off to the wedding! Possibly a negative, if you don't like white noise: It's off a thoroughfare so you may hear the traffic outside a bit. Also, if you're on the bottom floor, you'll have a view of a brick wall from your window. Free breakfast was cereal (the milk is in the mini fridge), coffee out of a push-button machine, and orange juice; pretty standard fare for the price. read more

Calimesa Inn - Laminate wood floors. Better than stinky carpet. - Hotels Near Me - Calimesa, California

We did not bring a single bag into the room - I went up to use the restroom and couldn't even bring myself to use it. DO NOT PAY UNTIL YOU SEE THE ROOM!! There was sticky grime on the toilet seats - hair on the toilet seat and in the toilet. The toilet itself was filthy. There was a grime dripping down the walls and what looked like maybe a booger stuck to the wall. There was dirt and multiple hairs folded into the hand towels. The tub was filthy. The lock itself was broken. There was food on the floor. We simply went back to the desk and asked for a refund for our charges. They refused! We can't even latch the door!!! Hands down - this is the filthiest hotel - including Hotel 6s along I5 - that have ever seen. I will try to figure out how to post Picts.-- posted just a sample. UPDATED --- I will say this for them, I have checked into another motel up the road and they are almost as bad. Not quite. But just about. Maybe it's the area? Sure, budget is budget, but I just spent 10 minutes with my wipes and made serious improvement. Scary. Tangs Chinese food was awesome- even cold. Too bad we had to wait so long to eat it. Spent quality time with Visa on the phone - looks good that they will ultimately decline the charges. Exhausted and grossed out in SoCal. Will pay the $150 for a holiday inn next time I guess- gotta have a room without drooling stuff on the walls though. read more

My friend booked a room and the owner or employee was very rude. We only went to the room to get ready to go to a festival we weren't staying in her room and the gentleman was outside at the parking lot waiting for us and approached us to "warn" us that we could not stay in her room because of overcrowding. He threatened that it would affect her stay the next morning. Which made her very nervous. And when she got back to her room to sleep she found blood smeared on the bed sheets and told him about it and he did nothing to help. No apologies, no new sheets, nothing. If you have to book a room in that area you are better off at American Best Value inn Valimessa read more

Absolutely. Unprofessional. Not only did the hallway smell like rotten cheese, but when we called to ask about the pool being open or not, they said yes. When we get there we're told it's only open for KIDS. Which makes zero sense if you asked me. On top of that, being exhausted after two day festival we payed for a late checkout, the maid literally was shoving us out our door. She literally walked into our house room without knocking, asking, or being invited. Just walked in telling us we need to go (this is at 11Am while late checkout is at 12) and asking us to help her take the sheets off the bed. I Think that alone speaks for itself. Absolutely unprofessional. read more

Me and my family were displaced from our home due to the Apple fire. We had no place to go.. No hotels in the area had rooms because they are accommodating the fire fighters. Calimesa inn had availability but turned us away due to our 2 small dogs, both 5lbs at best. I understand policy but where does human decency interject? I believe there are certain circumstances where you can use your own discretion. But Calimesa inn chose not to help us. Think twice before staying here. Upon driving into the parking lot we thought "ghetto", then we walked into the room. It was nice at best. It isn't so bad I thought. We left to get some dinner and came back to get some rest... threw back the sheets to see the remnants of another persons stay. Utterly disgusting, pubic hairs, dirt.. I can't begin to describe how nasty this place is. Oh and the towels were at least 10-15 years old and see through. Made me wonder if they were even clean... read more

The beds were uncomfortable first of all. The bathtub is stained. The laminate floors were good. We asked for a late check out and was told it would be another $10. Wow..!!!! I wish negative stars were available, from the start this placed seemed kind of sketchy! I decided to give it a shot anyway. We arrived late on a Friday, originally booked one king size bed, but either way it wasn't available, my wife spoke with the manager and stated we booked a king size bed not two full size beds.! Management made it seem as if they were doing us a favor, and said "don't worry we won't charge you guys additional for the second bed" the point was we only wanted one bed. Either way the room were disgusting, leaking bathroom faucets and toilets. Had a mini fridge but does not hold cold temp. Continental b-fast. Yeah right!! More like a run across the street to AM PM, for Danishes 8pk.. All gone by 8 am.. Worst experience ever, I recommend spending a few extra bucks and getting a better place. Don't make the mistake we did.!! read more

Upon first driving into the parking lot, I was thinking, "Oh goodness, I hope this place isn't gross!" It really could have gone either way by the look of the older exterior. Check-in was a breeze. The gal at the desk was very nice and efficient. When we got into our rooms, they seemed very neat and clean and I was pleasantly surprised by the large mini fridge, microwave and flat screen. I'm fairly satisfied with the experience and would recommend this inn to my less squeamish friends who were on a budget. The Cons: After the initial first take you start to notice little things that show the wear on the rooms. Nothing really horrible but just enough to make you realize that the Holiday Inn Express probably would have been a cleaner choice. But, for a $40 difference in price, I chose to deal with it. One of the two lobby staff members were really nice and friendly but the other not-so-helpful guy wouldn't give me an extra sheet because they were "In storage" and he didn't have a key..... Um, ok. What if one of the beds was completely soaked and a guest needed new linens? Are you just going to let them sleep in a wet or bare bed? They didn't seem prepared to handle issues if/when they came up. Thankfully that was not our issue, but still.... Internet was spotty at best. read more

Check-in was a drawn-out nightmare, even though the reservor had called TWICE to confirm reservations. Decor is terrible and the showerhead in one of the rooms didn't work very well. After the first day they came and fixed it. The free hotel things were pretty tiny (and they replaced them everyday we used them... how wasteful! I got like one or two rubs of the bars a night) And their wifi didn't work. Anyway... they have a pool and their maid service is prompt... And they're not RIGHT next to the freeway like America's Best Value Inn. It's pretty crappy, but still probably the best motel in the area, as their billboard ad says. read more

For the money, this was a very nice choice. Very quite and clean. There is a nice pool and jacuzzi. I agree with John T. that its not a five star, but it was a way better choice than the other area hotels. We were attending a wedding and other guests had chosen the American Suites up the way and were disappointed they had spent more money when this hotel was a much better quality. The owners are also very nice and helpful. Also, there is free WiFi and the continental breakfast usually consists of cereal, doughnuts, and Sunny-D (which is comparable to the price). read more

No carpeted floors - I guess it is easier to clean up the bleed that way. I think the sheets had been changed that week. There was something that looked like a drop of blood in the bathroom - but I think (I hope) it was a flake of red paint. In the shower the shower head was being held in place with duct tape. The toilet was rocking back and forth when you sat on it. The "breakfast' was coffee, juice and HoneyBuns that were fresh, because they were still wrapped in plastic. But is was only $80. (Gee I remember when Motel 6 was call that because the rooms were $6 a night). But I guess $80 is the new cheap motel. But nobody broke into our car. It was easy to get to and the staff was friendly. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!! I arrived at this motel with full of bad odor, and the smell were so bad that coming from the trash can in front of the motel room. It smells like a dead animal that had been there a long time. I arrived late so did not check my bed. As soon as we laid down on the bed, we found sand were all over the place on the bed. I'm very sure they did not change the bedsheets. In the morning I woke up, my daughter found maggots were inside my room and they were still alive... we found a bunch of them.... the bed sheets were dirty the other bed doesn't have fitted sheet. They only covered a flat sheets on top the mattress. Their towels were so dirty, they are at least 15 years old that you can see through. They don't wash or change their sheets in between guests. The staff were very rude when you approached them about the unhealthy living conditions, they told me to leave and get out of their property. I paid for two nights and I have to leave the second night and they did not accommodate or refund or any discount to us, and even if they did, No one would want to stay in a room that can give you sickness and diseases. So gross, I reported them to Better Bussiness Bureau, health department. This place is horrible, I would give them a zero star if I could. I'm surprised that the hotel is even open. read more

I was visiting a friend in Redlands and at the last minute I decided to stay one more night and came acrossed Calimesa Inn. Some of the reviews were scetchy but my friend and I decided to give it a chance the fact that they had a jacuzzi was a plus. I on arriving we noticed it was close to a market, a couple fast food establishments, gas stations, it was convenient to alot. Check in took a few minutes but while we waited i noticed the Pets Allowed sign, a big plus for me. I love traveling with my dog and $10 fee per nigt wasn't bad, something to remember. We had a downstairs room, with a king bed. When we entered the room, it looked nothing close to the reviews we read. It was spacious, clean, and the shower....wow, that alone would bring me back. So spacious and nice. The bed was comfortable, flat screen TV worked, had a fridge and microwave although I wish they had coffee pots in the rooms (hint hint). The room was all in all very nice, well kept, clean and smelled fresh. We decided to check out the jacuzzi which I think surprised them because it hadn't been fired up but the gentleman at the front came out and fired it ip for us. It took quite awhile to heat up and it never got as hot as we hoped for. But the pool area was very nice, roomy and clean, pool.was spotless. I don't understand some of the less desirable reviews, doesn't sound like this place at all. We liked it so well we booked a 4 night stay over he New Years holiday in which I will be bringing my dog. BED BUGS OH MY.....I checked in late on Thursday July the 3rd at 10:45PM after half a day at the office then I drive for 5 hrs I arrive at the Calimesa Inn. Well I bring dinner I bought from Stater Bros next door. I Have dinner and settle into bed at oh say 11:40pm and crash HARD. I am awakened by horrible itching and feeling things crawling on me. I jump up rip off the bed sheets and see little black things scurrying away to the edges of the mattress. I am in complete horror as I realize I am a victim of the "Infamous Blood Sucking Bed Bugs" I literately freak out and run to jump into a hot shower..thank goodness i brought a large bottle of Mens shower gel and proceed to scrub the filth of the nasty biters off me. I am also lucky from my own diligence to store all clothes and bags in the bathroom area due to what I have read online about easily bringing them home with me without knowingly doing so. I dress and check my baggage carefully then walk out at 2:30am. I leave the room card at the front desk window as the attendant was not there. The next day I called and reported all this to the desk-man and I was told I would get a call from the management as to a refund. I was called by the desk-man saying "Were sorry NO REFUND" although we are more than happy to comp you if you come back. Well needless to say I decided TO PASS on the most generous offer. I have done much research on this and my room had hard laminate flooring a hint they have had issues with the pest before. You see without carpeting there is less places for them to hide and lay eggs....YUCK..at any rate if you stay at the Calimesa Inn check the bed and make sure the matterss is in a "SEALED BED BAG" IF NOT YOU MIGHT BE EATEN ALIVE AND DRAINED OF ALL BLOOD... Bleph.. Ugh.. This place is kinda painful. I'm not ever a girl by far with extravagant needs. And I often love diamonds in the rough.. But this my friends is no desert flower.. Today is thanksgiving. And we traveled to my mother in laws in calimesa. My own mom was in tow and I'd thought I'd put her up for the night just so she could be more comfortable. But here I am almost midnight and can't believe I left her there. The check in was quite an experience. There was a couple before me who said they wanted a one bed no smoking. And the receptionist told him if he wanted one bed it would have to be smoking otherwise they have a 2 bed. They went for a 2 bed It was my turn and he told me I couldn't get a 2 bed non smoking it had to be a king size Jacuzzi room in non smoking. The place boast that it was a AAA approved place. So I asked for my discount. He told me no that for holidays like today and Halloween they had a flat rate. Numero uno.. I never been declined a AAA discount Two.. Didn't know Halloween was an epic holiday..hmm I stepped outside to ask my mother what shed prefer.. Another gentleman goes in.. Doesn't get what he wants either. My turn is up. I say I'll take the cheaper 2 beds in smoking. And ended up with a queen in smoking.. Le sigh.. The room was clean enough. And the bath is nicely deep. But the smell..gosh.. I've stayed in smoking rooms before. For last minute stops such as these but I never smelled a smoking room as terrible as this. It literally was like we were in a cigarette but.. I'm mean you really can't febreeze the room after a stay? Luckily my uncle gave my mom a delicous scented candle. But I still have copd from my few minutes in mom's room. And can't wait for the few hrs to go by that I can take her outta there. Vegas casinos aren't even this bad of cigarette smoke. And I feel I got ripped off of my discount.
