Cleared my pipes out in no time. I went from sounding like Chewbacca to a young Marvin Gaye.

There was not much he can do to diagnose my throat discomport. I'm very dissapointed with him. He charged me almost $900 in about 20 minutes. Not going back to this doctor.

I've only seen Dr. Yun twice but both my visits and email correspondence were positive. I came to…read morehim in February for the first of several ear infection in a three month period. I agree with the other positive reviews about his bedside manner and proactive-ness. He said the ENTs at PAMF should have given me a reason for wanting to remove my ear tubes in 3 instead of 2 years (despite a perforation that required at tympanoplasty 2 years after my first set of tubes) other than "that's what we always tell people". Even better, he said I can leave the tubes in for as long as I want if they are not causing problems. I love a doctor who has the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" attitude as I don't want to undergo unnecessary surgeries/procedures. Given that both he had Dr. Janas have treated multiple ear infections during the few months I saw them and the CT I had earlier this month showed mastoid fluid in both ears, it's possible I may need them removed in the future and he agreed that they would need to come out if infections persist. It's hard to find a doctor - especially an ENT - who both doesn't push unnecessary procedures/surgeries and isn't afraid to consider that route if the problem persists. Finally, I love that he gave honest recommendations for ENTs in/near Walnut Creek when I gave him some names of ENTs in network with my secondary insurance that MM doesn't accept (and I'm losing the primary they accept next week due to a new job). I told him what I want in a new ENT and appreciated that he didn't hesitate to steer me away from doctors who either had poor reviews or were sub specialists for issues that I don't need treatment. Several of the ENTs who have thrown their hands up over the years were sub-specialists (the 2 main offenders were a laryngologist and facial plastics) so Dr. Yun definitely understood why I wanted a general ENT. Some of the past recommendations I've received over the years - including an ENT I know personally who didn't even treat me as a pt - were biased and didn't take into consideration the qualities I want in a doc. Hopefully his recommendations will prove true when the time comes!

What stood out most was his deep clinical expertise, judgment, and quiet confidence. He is meticulous in his evaluation and very clear and honest about tradeoffs, expectations, and the role of patient-specific anatomy. The procedure required real commitment, but Dr. Li and his team provided thorough, attentive follow-up care throughout the full 18-month expansion process. I have just completed the procedure and have experienced a significant reduction in my CPAP pressure settings, along with a meaningful improvement in sleep quality. Even while using CPAP previously, I rarely slept more than seven hours a night; I can now sleep a full eight hours and feel genuinely rested. I also notice clearer, freer breathing during the day. Dr. Li is widely regarded as a leading expert in this procedure, and my experience reflects that level of mastery and care.

I recently was treated by Dr. Kasey Li at Stanford and had a truly life-changing experience. Prior…read moreto visiting Dr. Li, I had undergone an MMA surgery with another Stanford surgeon with a very minimal 3 mm jaw advancement, and because of this, my AHI remained the same one year after surgery as it was before surgery -- in other words, the surgery did not improve my sleep apnea at all. However, Dr. Li was able to help me by performing his EASE procedure, which not only helped me sleep better, but also prevented me from needing another revision MMA surgery to advance me the clinically recommended 10+ mm (instead of just a paltry 3 mm). During my EASE operation, Dr. Li even removed some of the MMA hardware from the previous surgery because it was "festering." Compared to MMA, EASE was much less invasive (I was back at work in less than a week), and after several months of gradual expansion with Dr. Li, he had gotten me off CPAP completely, allowing me to sleep much better without having to wear an uncomfortable mask forcing air into my nose every night. This was a tremendous outcome! I was surprised at how much more helpful EASE was for my sleep apnea than my initial MMA, given the latter required a month off work on a full-liquid diet. Treating sleep apnea is a mine field. I researched the alternatives to EASE heavily, and every other option was significantly more invasive and risky (any maxillary expansion procedure involving a LeFort cut is going to be rough and risk complications). There's also quite a few completely unproven / ineffective treatments that do not help sleep apnea at all that you have to be prudent to avoid. And as I found out the hard way, even at name-brand institutions, the surgeons there may not advance your jaw enough to help your sleep apnea. Dr. Kasey Li is truly the best in the world and will take excellent care of you. I am forever grateful for his help and expertise.
