I did not know I needed a purple faux jaguar carpet throw until I discovered it one day and now my entryway is complete. This is a charming store full of very interesting and eye-catching items for your home - or a gift for someone who appreciates quality. Excellent service, and while the prices can be high, the quality does in fact make them worthwhile. Viand doesn't carry goods you purchase and toss in a few years, these are new friends that will stay in your life for a long, long time.

Everything is extremely high quality, and I believe local artists are supported by Viand. The workers are professional, sweet, and chic. My one qualm is that it is very pricey and I often don't find anything that fits my taste, despite the store being filled with wonderful finds. Worth a look for sure!

And the job was finished in a timely fashion, just as promised. We had considered replacing the chairs, but for less than half that expense we were able to keep the chairs we've enjoyed for almost fifty years. We highly recommend doing business with The Craft Shop in Windham, ME.

What a fun little discovery on my way into town. I have passed this place a zillion times and had…read moresaid I would stop eventually. Well, stop I did, to see if they had a gift for a friend's birthday. First, I love any store that smells like balsam as you walk through the door. The scent makes me feel like a kid again. I'm not from Maine (have been here long enough to feel at home), but as a kid we used to drive here from Ohio and spend a few weeks going up and down the coast. The smell of balsam reminds me of these trips. Second, I was shocked by the variety they had. Maple syrup, Maine souvenirs, crafting supplies, wooden figurines, and antiques. The have a sign stating that they "glue chairs". I didn't know that was a thing, but apparently, it is... They also sell wreaths and Christmas trees during the appropriate season. And finally, the owners were as nice as could be. They had out hot chocolate for the kids, and they wrapped my little gift up neatly. This little shop is well worth the drive into town because of how darn cute it is!

Perfect spot to find a wedding or bridal shower gift. I had gone in to purchase a new tide clock for my mother, the mechanism in hers no longer worked (after many years). Before I even picked out a clock the employee informed me that the mechanism can be replaced for only 7 dollars while a new clock was 50 dollars. I was so impressed she informed me of this voluntarily and potentially missing a sale. I bought a new clock and plan to have the old one fixed. The other aspect it love about this store is the space. You can browse and see everything without feeling as though your purse will knock over a 100 dollar piece of pottery. Defiantly check this place out if you're in need of a unique gift.

I had chosen to pick through and purchase some coins in their "world silver coin" box, but I (after purchasing a large number) have disappointingly found a few coins that aren't silver at all - but copper nickel. Their pricing on this box was also very loose with the cashier taking a "rough mental average" of the purity of the coins and adding a "small" premium over spot. While I should've known better to pick only coins I'm familiar with and trusting this undisclosed "small premium", they shouldn't have had any non-silver coinage in the silver coinage bin. I'm sure it would be a headache, but separating the world coins based on purity and not a "rough average" would provide a MUCH better experience for the customer.
