I call the shop the day of the appointment to confirm that credit card or Paypal will be accepted (coming from the US, I cannot easily withdraw over 200€ cash from a bank machine). This is how the conversation went (I do not know who spoke to me on the phone): "Hey, will you accept credit or Paypal?" - No, only cash. "I am sorry but I cannot get that much cash in Europe today." - Ok let me speak to my boss. ... - Did you leave a deposit? "No..." (I was never asked to leave a deposit) - Sorry Jota is really busy today and your appointment is now cancelled. Next time, when you come back to Barcelona, try to book 1-2 months in advance. He is really busy. End of conversation. I assume the actual issue was that I could not pay cash, but I am rating Siha Tattoo 1 star because I waited in anticipation for two weeks for an appointment that was suddenly cancelled and was told to "come back to Barcelona" later, as if this were a reasonable request. If the artist is too busy, the appointment should not be scheduled. Canceling a dinner date is trivial; canceling a tattoo appointment should be avoided at all costs, especially knowing the client will not come back to the country anytime soon. It is a huge blow to the psyche to mentally prepare for permanent alteration and be told on the scheduled day that it will not happen because the artist is "busy." Great artists here, I wish them the best.

I did not think that I would be visiting Steelworks, but it just so happened my friend was interested in getting his ears pierced. Naturally, tagging along, I was inspired to add a 3rd piercing to my ear. Being in business for 27 years, Marta and Santi have an impeccable business. All visits are by appointment only. The studio is extremely clean, organized and very inviting. It is well lit, and overall a well run business. Marta made both my friend and I very comfortable like it was her home. The pain for our piercings were minimal, but Marta was super patient, precise and very meticulous. After the process was complete, Marta was all smiles and super thankful for our business. We kept thinking, what other body art do we want the next time we visit Barcelona. As a native, Marta also recommended a wonderful restaurant in nearby Sitges! Wish we could stay longer, but we depart tomorrow. If you are looking for a new tattoo artist or body piercer, PLEASE visit Steelworks. Look no further, this is the place you want to visit!

With a few back and forth, I put my deposit in, told her my budget and gave her specifically what I wanted. When I came today, I felt so incredibly comfortable. I went by myself and the place felt like a favorite bar I go to. I waited for Fer for a bit and I was in no rush at all, but as soon as she stepped into that door, she was in artist mode. She showed me what she had made and I immediately fell in love with it. Her tattooing was so light and I'm one of those intolerable, whiny bitches that can't take needles but OMFG I LEGIT FELL ASLEEP WHILE GETTING TATTED; I actually had dreams happening. That's how comfortable I was. I cannot praise her enough for the amazing and incredible job she did. I praise and bow down to her like the goddess she is!
