This review is for Caliber - Redwood City - North - 1196 (located at 1800 Industrial Way). I went to a different caliber location in San carlos, also on industrial, to get an estimate to repair my car window that another vehicle had knocked off. I was hoping the cost was minor and I wouldn't have to go through insurance. That was a mistake. The other caliber quoted me over $1300 to replace my mirror. I was astounded as a friend of mine had recently had her mirror redone for @ $500. I also called the toyota dealership in redwood city and they sell the part I needed at a higher cost and would have charged even more to replace it (and were all booked up). So I went through insurance and they sent me to the this redwood city caliber location instead and they quoted less than half the cost of the first caliber location. They were very nice at this redwood city location and ordered the mirror and I was able to get the car repaired within a week or so. They order the parts for wholesale prices from a different Toyota apparently because the local toyota dealership won't sell to them wholesale. They were very nice to deal with, fixed my car and even took care of another small issue that had been bugging me that they noticed on their own - a piece of bumper of my car was popping out and on my last trip to the dealer for maintenance, I asked toyota if they could get it to stop popping out and they send there was nothing they could do. However, this caliber clipped it back into place without issue. I can't recommend this location enough. And a few lessons learned - #1 - if the damage isn't your fault, just go through your insurance. You will get a better price for the repair and you don't have to worry about your insurance cost going up if the repair isn't due to any fault of yours. ( at least with mercury insurance). #2. Do not get repairs done at the dealer unless your car is under their warranty. Get them through a good repair shop! #3 - do not go to the caliber in san carlos unless they take your car insurance or perhaps you will not get a fair price on the repair either. read more

This company offers a service where they will provide an estimate based on photos and information you submit online. It seemed nice to save the time and hassle of coming in-person, if you just need an estimate for a simple job. I got the online estimate done, but when I called in to schedule the work, they said they don't honor the online estimates and I would need to come in anyway for them to generate the real estimate. I was so sad when my GTI got sideswiped while street parked in San Jose but Caliber had my baby back on the road in no time! The customer service was awesome here - Bryan was friendly and thorough as we looked over the damage despite what seemed like a hectic day. They even gave me a ride to Hertz. The repairs were completed quickly I got my car back a day earlier than expected. Bryan and Mike even washed my car personally when something came up with their detailer so that my car would be ready at the promised time. If that's not 5 star service I don't know what is! Great experience overall. The employees here are awesome and very helpful. My car was stolen on July 2, 2020, then recovered in San Jose on July 18th. I worked it out with my insurance and they actually recommended Caliber Collision. I was at first hesitant because I've had a pretty terrible experience at Cooks Collision, and they sounded like a rebrand of them. But I took a chance and had AAA tow my car here. From the get-go on the phone they were really helpful and sympathetic about my car situation. Scheduling with them was a breeze, and upon meeting them they were extremely friendly and helpful. They were professional from beginning to end and made the whole process with my insurance really easy. I'm glad we have a decent body shop here in Redwood even if they are a franchise. read more

I had an appointment today at 12.30pm. My insurance had accidently sent my information to a different Caliber Collision location. I asked them if they could request the information from the other location or if they could communicate with my insurance and they didn't want to help. I called my insurance and they sent the information to the correct location, but then I had to wait for 15 minutes despite there not being another customer there. I had to leave without been helped. This review is for their "car wash" took my car in after it got side swiped while parked at work and after receiving it I noticed the center console, door,dashboard were covered in these white spots. like it's everywhere places I can't even reach? It really doesn't even make sense how cover my car is with these spots. Whoever washed this car is lazy and simply does not care about their work. My car is only about 8 months old and I keep it consistently clean how I like it so this was very disappointing after getting my car back after two weeks in the shop. Made an appointment and took time off work for an estimate last Thursday, even though I had an appointment I was told the guy doing my estimate was at lunch. So someone else had to take the pics so I could get my estimate . How can u make an appointment n go to lunch? Long story short, 6 days later the estimate wasn't ready, when I called to find out was going on, I was told they couldn't get my car in til weeks later. I was so disappointed they wasted my time. I just recently had my car backed into and the other party I decided not to go through insurance to have it repaired. He recommended Caliber Collision Auto Repair, so I agreed to take it here. Since Caliber is also AAA accredited, I figured that it would be a trustworthy and reputable place in the event that we could not reach an agreement for the other party to to repair my vehicle, and I would have to file a claim through my insurance. From the intial scheduling of the consultation which was at a time that was convenient for me to getting an estimate from the general manager, Elizabeth Washburn, the process was quick, easy, and stress-free. Liz made me feel extremely comfortable and was super helpful. She did everything she possibly could to reach the budget that was discussed between the other party and I in order for us to reach an amicable settlement and pay a reasonable price for the repair. BMW parts are expensive, but Liz was able to DROP the price of the original estimate by more than $1,500! She even went the extra mile of contacting the other party to make the payment, which he was ultimately happy with considering the huge price drop. Furthermore, Liz and the Caliber Collision team were able to repair, paint, and detail my car in less than a week! They were also very good about keeping me updated on the status of my car. Not only was the quality of work done excellent, this repair shop is HONEST and TRUSTWORTHY in comparison to my past experiences dealing with many other auto repair shops. I'm extremely happy with the quality of repair of my car and I would def recommend this auto shop to my friends and family. I will def take my car here again in the future if any other problems arise. We were looking for Cook's but were diverted here as Cook's might be closed. They did a great job on my daughter's car. The roof was peeling due to an inferior previous paint job. They had a reasonable quote and took care of it quickly and effectively. I would reccommend for car painting. Also, they painted an additional part of the door to match the new work. Liz, Bryan, Manny, and their whole team have taken great care of me and my car twice now in the past couple of months. The first time they had to deal with my insurance company and they did a number of repairs to the rear end of my car, requiring getting new panels and parts as well as dealing with electrical, etc. Brian consistently called me to let me know the progress and what I could expect. They found a couple of little problems not related to the accident and solved those problems free of charge. I was very happy with the condition of my car when they finished the repairs. The second time, this week, all of a sudden for no reason the rear lift gate stopped working. Liz and her team spent all day yesterday trying to figure out the probelm and finally ended up taking the car to the Lexus Dealership to consult with them. Turns out my husband inadvertently pushed a button that disabled the rear lift gate (who knew there was such a button?). Problem solved! Between driving me to and from work, and taking my car offsite to the Lexus Dealership, and all the hours the Technician spent trying to figure out what was going on, Liz and her team spent a lot of time on me and my car. Their charge? ZERO. Other people have recommended Caliber Collision to me in the past. I was blindsided by a red light runner 1/22/2020. My car was un- drivable. After finalizing the details with the medics, the cops, the sheriffs we were left with a smashed car parked on a very busy 6 lane road. We were told by the sheriffs the wrecked car had to be removed by sundown that same day. Our insurance company recommended Caliber Collision on El Camino Redwood City. We called them to solicit their help. We tallked to two different people. They said they would call back and arrange for a tow for our car to come to their yard. We tried calling again but they were closed. As of today 1/27/2020 We have not heard a peep out of Caliber Collision. Not even a courtesy call to see if any arrangements have been made. This is the second time I've been disillusioned by Caliber Collision. If I could give them -5 stars I would. In contrast I can give A+ Japanese in San Carlos 500 stars for the professional and compassionate help we received the following day. read more
