Very, very, very disturbed by our experience at Caliber in Egg Harbor. There was very minor rear-end damage to a Mercedes that corresponded with the appearance of a "Collision Avoidance System Malfunction" engine message and the car being inoperable. Through insurance we were towed to Caliber, described the situation, and they proceeded with the repairs. $2800 later, the bumper was repainted and plastic trim was replaced. We just picked up the car and were told the body repair was complete but the engine problem wasn't related to the collision damage and that their diagnostics indicated multiple engine issues (not experienced before the "Collision Avoidance System Malfunction" message). They said they hadn't, and wouldn't, repair the engine as it wasn't covered by insurance! Of course we were prepared to pay for needed engine repairs, but would rather have spent the $1000 deductible on engine repairs instead of unnecessary minor scratch repairs! When asked if the car was operable, we were told the "engine malfunction codes had been cleared" and "it may be best to sell the car before the codes reappear". Again, pressed as to whether the car was drivable to leave their lot, we were told "that's your decision, but the engine issues haven't been addressed". Not knowing what to do, we paid the $1000 deductible and started to drive the car in rush hour traffic to another repair shop. The car made it about half a mile before becoming inoperable again. Within minutes of picking the car up, in response to our call that they shouldn't have done the cosmetic repairs knowing they had nothing to do with the engine issues we were told that the situation had "all been explained at the outset" which is most definitely not true. What imbecile would ever spend a $1000 deductible on a $2800 bumper paint job and plastic trim replacement knowing the engine issues - which apparently were the actual cause of the car being inoperable - would remain? I remarked that the manager wouldn't want that to be done to his daughter, to his sister, to his wife, to his mother, or to his grandmother - leaving them to drive off in an inoperable car in rush-hour traffic. No remorse, no effort at all to try to remedy the situation. Bottom line, they shouldn't have done the $2800 cosmetic repair, and released the car to be driven, without clarifying before the repairs that the car would look good but would remain inoperable. And how can you trust a repair shop that tells you "the engine warning codes are cleared and you should sell the car at a dealership before the codes come back"? After giving them the chance to make this right and being rebuffed, I plan to post this review on every site and also have a very direct conversation with the insurance company not to ever send any more insured vehicles to Caliber Collision. Perhaps other Caliber locations are OK, but until Caliber makes changes at the Egg Harbor location - as a public service - stay away. read more

Had an excellent experience at this location, specifically, due to the above and beyond help from the General Manager, Joe Dimonte. We called to inquire about installing front plates on our car (since we had bought the car from out-of-state and didn't the proper equipment to install ourselves). Joe was professional, kind and helpful over the phone and told us to head over to Caliber Collision and ask for him, personally. When we arrived, he was waiting for us. He quickly took our car around to the shop, and within 3 minutes, our plates were installed. When we went to pay, he told us that there would be no charge! We had never even gone to this location nor met this man before, and he was so willing to just do something completely in good faith. It's really nice to know what people will do to make an experience memorable. I've already told my family about my experience, and will definitely be back! It certainly makes a difference when you treat people well, and it's such a good reminder of the type of business I want support. Thank you!! read more

My friend and I were at Target and came out to find the police at my car ...a hit-and-run... The officer suggested we come to caliber collision. Boy were we glad we did! Two gentlemen helped us secure the bumper and put it securely in place so the car could be safely driven back to Florida. The women in the front office were very friendly and helpful. Great customer service, pleasant and eager to help. They had us back in the car and on the road within 15 minutes and wishing us safe travels. What more can you ask for? read more

My VW Bug convertible needed the rear bumper and Quarter Panel fixed after a little accident. Caliber Collision called me after hearing from my insurance company, an appointment was made to examine the car and determine an estimate. Meeting was quick and easy. They called as soon as the parts were in and arranged for a car from Enterprise. While my car was being fixed, I received texts updating me on the progress and was soon called to pick it up! I was able to leave my rental car there and drive my beautiful car hoe [and open the door ;-) ]. The entire process was as easy as can be. Gary and his team at Caliber Collision were incredible from day one! While I hope I never need their services again, I am happy to know there are reputable, honest, and kind people out there! We had our truck repaired at Caliber Collision in Egg Harbor, New Jersey and are extremely disappointed. When we picked up the truck the bumper cover (which was repaired and painted) has defects in the paint and the not all of the fastener clips were fastened. The lift gate (which was also repaired and painted) also has defects in the paint. The interior trim pieces on the lift gate were also not fastened correctly and there was still tape stuck to the jam area. The worst part of all was the condition of the interior. The entire interior is covered in dust with zero effort to wipe anything down. A 2 year-old child rides in this vehicle and exposing her to the sanding dust that is spread across the interior is a serious health risk. I'm surprised that someone would look at any of the obvious issues and still allow the truck to be released despite the fact that we told the shop manager that the shop could keep the truck until the next week as we had a rental car. All we wanted was the truck returned to the condition it was before it was rear-ended. The poor paint quality means the truck is not returned to it's previous condition, and the dust covering the interior means that we have to spend more money to have the truck detailed so we can ride in it without being exposed to the harmful particles. I hope we never have another incident where we need auto body repair, but if we or anyone else we know needs it, we will not recommend Caliber. UPDATE, 6/28: 2 weeks and 3 emails have gone by since "the owner" gave me an email address to go over the issues, yet still no one has contacted me. read more

My car took significantly longer to repair -correctly - they told me it was ready - when I went to pick it up they did a horrible job - there was a large gap where they tried to attach the bumper and pry marks and chipped paint where they removed the bumper. ZERO Quality control. They were rude on the phone (this was the Manager) when I called to get updates, first, they told me Ford built the car poorly and it must have always had a big gap and pry marks, and I'd have to live with that. After I told them I had pictures of my car before the accident and it was ridiculous to blame the car manufacturer, they agreed, they'd have to call in a supplemental and re-do the work. Every time I called for an update, they were rude and dismissive and kept complaining about how busy they were with other work, they were understaffed, and they would get to call in the supplemental and re-repair my car when they could get to it - no promises. I finally got my car back, despite paying 100% of the bill I received 10% service, so stay away from Caliber. UPDATE - after I posted my review they asked me to email them, so they could make things right... I did and - they emailed back asking "What is my issue?" really? - they have no intention to "try to make anything right" They say they appreciate me and value my business" That is not true - they only care about making money and do not care about quality or customers. - again ZERO customer service - strongly urge you never to do business with Caliber. UPDATE - I did email you multiple times and contacted your corporate office customer service - but NO ONE ever got back to me - you just ignored me. Don't waste more of my time asking "for a chance to make things right" if you are not going to even contact me. This is truly a terrible compny!!! read more

Of all the body shops I called to set up and appointment, Caliber Collision had the most receptive staff and extremely knowledgeable.

I brought my Lexus in to get an estimate to repair the trunk and rear quarter panel from kissing a guard rail on a snowy road. It seemed convenient since I had Geico insurance who was stationed onsite, along with Enterprise for car rental while your car is at Caliber Collision. After about 8-10 days I received a call from Geico that they were declaring the repairs a total loss⁉ "WTH are you talking about? I drove over 2500 miles since kissing that guardrail and just had new performance tires and oil change before bringing it in for an estimate!" I am a visiting hospice nurse and I rely on transportation for my livelihood. I declined filing the insurance claim. I'll get the trunk fixed another way. HOWEVER Caliber dismantled it "to provide the insurance company a more accurate estimate". Obviously he used an incorrect adjective. What he MEANT to say was "to provide an INFLATED estimate to the insurance company!" At this point I'm thanking God that I'm not dealing with these crooks for any auto repairs. Give me back my car and no harm, no foul. EXCEPT Callber REFUSES to reassemble my car! I brought a whole car in for an estimate I EXPECT it returned the same way!! Then they WOULD reassemble IF I pay them or Geico pays them for labor to reassemble! I was flabbergasted at their unscrupulous attempts of straight up robbery!!! This fight went on for approximately 5 weeks. I contacted NAPA to report Caliber, DOBI to report Geico, BBB for their despicable actions, even Action News to air this injustice to as many consumers as I could. Two days before Action News Consumer Investigation was due to interview me for the segment I had a horrific wreck while working. While it was 100% the other guys fault (T-boned) it didn't make my situation (OR Rehab) any easier!!! My return to health was paramount and I decided to stop fighting the injustice and settle the claim with Geico. It was not worth the consequential frustrations and negative energies by fighting. That FREE ESTIMATE cost me tons--financially, emotionally AND physically. I needed to focus everything positive to recover and move on. Yet I'm still compelled to provide others with how my gorgeous high performance Lexus was stolen from me. Had I been asked FREE ESTIMATE (hell even FREE REPAIR) vs risk losing your prized car forever...it's a no brainer. CONSUMER BEWARE! read more
