Why have one when you can have three (plus their back-office support team)?…read more The Ellen, Janis and Josh team are awesome. They have been doing real estate in the JP area for decades and bring a tremendous amount of value. They know the market inside out and have deep relationships with buyers, sellers and other agents. I worked with them as a developer where they first listed our raw land, then after that didn't work out, they listed our new construction house. They provided us with some guidance on what they thought our buyer would be looking for in a house. It was under agreement two months before we finished, which worked out great for us and the buyer. Everyone was very happy at the end of our transaction. I plan on working with the EJJ team as much as possible in the future. I highly recommend their entire team.

About a year ago, I was considering purchasing a condo in Cambridge. Josh kept in regular contact with me and constantly updated me with new places on the market that fit my criteria. He never sent me an annoying email like: "Hey, I know you want to live near Central Square and need parking and want a two bedroom, but here's a one bedroom in Somerville without parking that I thought might interest you." A few times, he even picked me up, drove me to see places, and then dropped me right back at my apartment. He clearly knows a lot of about the real estate industry, because he was able to ask the seller's agent questions that I would never have thought of. Questions that really informed my decision on whether to make an offer. But most importantly, unlike other realtors, he never once tried to push a condo on me so he could get his commission. He was always honest about places we saw, often saying that he didn't think a condo was "right for me" before even hearing what I thought about the place. This is in complete contrast to the realtor I worked with before Josh who, no matter how awful a place was, would instantly say as we walked out the door: "You should definitely put an offer in, because a place like this won't last on the market." I wouldn't put an offer in, and months later, the price would have dropped significantly and the condo would still be sitting on the market. Imagine losing tens of thousands of dollars because your realtor convinced you to put an offer in on a substandard place? Ultimately, I didn't end up purchasing a condo, but I keep in fairly regular contact with Josh these days. And he still updates me on what's out there. I'm glad to see he's doing so well.

Most importantly, he is a very collaborative partner and doesn't pressure you at all - he provides great advice and internalizes your feedback effectively. Chris helped my husband and I purchase our first home in Jamaica Plain and we absolutely recommend…read morehim to others without any hesitation. We chose to work with Chris after interviewing 2 other potential brokers who also have extensive experience working with buyers in that neighborhood. What set Chris apart from the beginning was his thoroughness, attention to detail, and desire to help us find the place that was right for us. A huge additional bonus that sets Chris apart from other brokers is his significant knowledge of construction and home condition details so he is able to point out things that could be a costly problem down the road. Chris was almost always immediately available by phone, text, and/or email. He arranged several hours-long days for us to see multiple properties in the neighborhood. When the property we ultimately purchased went on the market, he was able to get us in early to see it before others. He is also a master negotiator with good instincts who always does the best for his clients. Throughout the offer/counter offer process he was always in communication with us and gave us what ended up being very good advice. After our offer was accepted but before we signed the purchase and sale agreement, there were some issues with the seller's agent and Chris was able to smooth everything over and he did so while on vacation in Aruba! He works with a good team of lawyers and mortgage brokers and we were actually able to move our expected closing date forward a few days when we decided we wanted to move in earlier. Again, we would highly recommend Chris and his team for a top-notch home buying experience!

When I met with Shawn, he laid out and presented his plan on how to properly put our home on the market. He detailed his strategy for getting the property ready, generating buzz for the property, bringing in serious buyers, and running a successful open house. Within days of the open house, thanks to his advice, we received multiple offers well above our list price! Throughout the whole process, Shawn guided us every step of the way to get our home sold. There was not one time I felt uneasy - Shawn was very proactive and was always there to answer any question I had. Words cannot describe the level of professionalism of Shawn and his team. He was honest and let me know that the timing wasn't right since I wouldn't make any profit in the market at the time. We kept in touch over the years and he let me know that this year was the year to sell and boy was he right!! He advised me from beginning to end. My condo was sold with a cash offer in 6 weeks without needing to do any updates! His expertise about the market was invaluable from how to set up the condo, to having his photographer come in, to having an open house which drew in ~100 people that led to 3 solid offers. All of this was done by the way while I was out of state and I could only come to town once since I have a 7mth and 3yr old. Overall he's an awesome real estate agent and I would recommend him to others in a second! - Latoya Davis

Every time we said we were interested in a property, he immediately dug into doing research and considering pros and cons, well past the basic info which is in an MLS listing. 3. He took a cautious approach. Matt did not pressure us to buy at all. He didn't try to get it over with just for the commission. Instead, sometimes we found him talking us out of certain places. He genuinely wanted us to find a place which was perfect for us. 4. He knows the process very well and he communicates clearly and promptly. When he is not 100% sure of something, he in honest (instead of making up BS) and is extremely effective in leveraging other contacts to get to the bottom of any question.
