Saw the doctor once during entire pregnancy and it was during the second trimester. Didn't even deliver the baby. Wife had a problem around the 37th week and the doctor was out (again) so she saw the NP. My wife said she wanted to see the doctor and the NP says "it's not a big deal because she knows the same thing the doctor knows" WTF. Never go here.

After my exam was over, I left the exam room to go to the ladies room and heard her talking about me in the hallway- telling other staff members about my medical history and that I was not up-to-date on my diagnostics & calling me names. I cannot believe this is a practicing physician. it's one thing to educate patients & care about their well-being. It's quite another to be abrasive and try to shame people.

My experience with Avalon and the women there has always been positive. The midwives allow you to be actively involved in making decisions, while supporting you with expertise and friendship. I was surprised to read the negative reviews about midwife Donna. I have known Donna through the practice for almost 7 years and she is an extremely caring, reliable and lovely woman. She puts me at ease whenever I've experienced an issue; whether preterm labor concerns or postpartum healing. Women should understand that when they visit a midwife, they will need to often use their own judgement to work through decisions. You won't always get a firm "do exactly this" from Donna, but you'll get support and guidance from a professional who truly cares for her patients. I'm thankful she was a part of all three of my births. My most recent delivery was with midwife Kim. She was incredible. She advocated for me when the hospital staff were considering interventions due to baby's heart rate being high. She helped me to navigate the VBAC requirements, keeping baby safe and giving me the birth experience I desired. I was able to labor partially in the tub. The atmosphere at Chilton was great. (I preferred it over my 2 births at Morristown). Kim provided guidance and encouragement without being overbearing. She helped me listen to my body and addressed the heart rate issue while keeping me calm. It was a beautiful birth. The midwives who attended my 2 previous births are no longer with the practice, so I won't elaborate on them, but again the experiences (while not without trials) were positive in terms of the care I received through the practice. The office staff are helpful, patient and they've been there forever. Always a friendly, familiar face. I've sent many friends to Avalon. Highly recommend; especially if you're looking to have a more natural, educated, empowered birth and women's health care experience. The practice has grown over the years, but remains patient-focused with a family atmosphere. I always say going to an appointment feels like going to see an aunt or family friend.

She is only interested in profiting off of the birth and getting you out as quickly as possible. She came off as problematic in the prenatal appointments, but I figured I had a one in eight chance of getting her. Of course she was the one on call when I went into labor. She was rude and cruel and I ended up having ongoing complications because of her. Avoid at all costs.
