The day after I left my tax filing material, Tom sold the company to Hammond Capital. I followed through with Tom, as he was now part of Hammond Capital. The tax return was done expeditiously with a reasonable fee. Part of the reason for finding a new tax service was I had an outstanding IRS issue that was not being resolved by the former tax preparer. Hammond Capital has been working on this issue from day one and we are slowly coming to a resolution with the bureaucratic IRS...all good. I also signed up with Hammond Capital Management for assistance and advice on my retirement portfolio. This was not a spur of the moment decision, but a result of "back room" isSue's with my bank that was administering the portfolio. The change in advisors was dramatic...all good. The positives included: substantially lower fees, much more one on one contact, and a general cleanup of my investments where they are both earning more and better protection between the ups and downs. Well after the IRS reviewed my taxes I owed the IRS 4,235.35 more than the 3200.00. Jan Paterno made the mistake I asked her how she was going to fix this mistake. She agreed to pay the penalty and interest incurred. 32,62 dollars. She spoke to her partners and they agreed that she handled my taxed professionally and to the standards that AKP hold their business to. I had Sir Mike to prepare my individual taxes for the very first time. I opt-ed for electronic…read morefiling. I received my federal with no issues but my 3 state taxes were all screwed up. One state mailed a paper check to an old address that I clearly told my preparer not to use. The other two states never received my paperwork at all. I eventually had to mail them out myself. Needless to say, it took 4 months for me to discover the work my preparer was paid $150 to handle for me did not finish the job. When I tried to go to his office, he had moved to a different suite which was never open. So I texted him. He responded after several days with one excuse after the other. He then said he would try to file them electronically and that he would pay the fee. That was two weeks ago. Those states never received them as of yet nor did Sir Mike contact me to let me know he sent them off as he said he would do. Needless to say my friend did not get her $75 referral payment until months later. If you're thinking of using this company or preparer PLEASE MOVE ON TO A MORE REPUTABLE, PROFESSIONAL COMPANY. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!!!
