Very late posting this for my interaction back in Nov 2024. I cannot recommend this place more! Godsend when I was in a panic. I was taking my son a vehicle from Las Vegas to Reno. Got to Tonopah and stopped for gas - car wouldn't start. My husband came to me 3.5 hrs away with a new alternator and battery. We couldn't get the serpentine belt back on! Called this towing service and they printed out the diagram and came to rescue us in 10-20 min! And no charge! What nice people!! Back on the road and got 30 min out of town to the car completely dying. By this time it was pitch black and the electronics slowly died one by one including lights and hazards. I was sitting out there getting colder and colder and more and more scared. My insurance has garbage roadside (Nationwide) which has time and time left us hanging (we can get you someone tomorrow at 6am - ug). I called Cal-Nev again and true to form, they were there to my rescue again! They towed me back to Tonopah. I got accommodations via phone on the way. The driver, hearing this, offered to tow me back to Vegas now instead of in the morning. Wow! What service! He got the okay from his boss and away we went. Got home around 1:30am but felt good to be at home and better ready to tackle the problem. ~$2000 and two weeks later, we had the car fixed and I braved the ride again. Made it and so thankful I felt supported by Cal-Nev if I ran into trouble again. GREAT business and CARING people. I highly rate them. read more

We waited 21h for a tow including spending the night in freezing cold weather at 10k feet, only for the tow truck driver never to show up. He claimed that we were on a dirt road, while we were on a paved two-lane road. I even sent a photo of our vehicle on the paved road (below) and which route to take to stay on paved roads at all times (below), only for the driver to lie and claim that was the route he took. I can only assume that our insurance would pay them anyway if they claim we were on a dirt road, and that way he could get home sooner. If my 79yo FIL hadn't taken a 14h drive to bring us a spare wheel when these guys ditched us, we would have had to spend another night in the freezing cold without heat. Unbelievable. It's somewhere you don't want to visit but if you do, these guys are tops, from the manager, Monica to my driver who towed my vehicle, Don. I found myself with a accident and required their services to get my vehicle towed since it was no longer drivable. They were very helpful with information for an alternate mode of transportation but none of them worked out unfortunately. I was able to retrieve some of my luggage and had a friend come get me. The next day, I did have to come back the next day to get the rest of my luggage. Monica was very helpful in allowing me access to the vehicle to retrieve my luggage. read more

All of our dash lights on our Subaru suddenly went on while we were a little outside of Tonopah. The car went into limp mode. We made it back to town and to Cal Nevada's shop. Russ and his crew helped us tremendously! They ran some diagnostics, cleared the codes and had us drive it around town a bit to see if the lights came back on. They did. Apparently the transmission solenoid went out and needed to be replaced. They ordered the part immediately and were able to fix it next day! They also offered us a ride back to our hotel (a mile away), which we declined. We walked around Tonopah, learned a little town history. They made everything so easy and smooth for us. I couldn't be happier with Russ, the crew and this shop! We made it back to San Diego with no problems!! read more

If you need mechanical help in Tonopah,... See Russ at Cal-Nevada Towing. Great guy, he saw me waiting, opened the door, and got me fixed up and back on the road at 8:01am (they open at 8:00am). ALSO, if you are you're concerned are going to get price gouged because they are the only game in small town,... I just priced the exact same tire here in Henderson at well over twice the price. $66 vs.$138. Great service, value, quality work and parts. Not to mention, character and integrity. On 8/10/2025 my fiancé called triple A with a premium membership, Triple A then dispatch Cal-Nevada towing, the driver David was dispatched he call my fiancé and told her he didn't care about triple A and that once he got there he was charging her $7 per gallon and a 10% service fee...n9w this was a lady all alone out of gas between Beatty,NV. And Tonopah,NV. And David of Cal-Nevada towing was willing to extort her along with dispatch from Cal-Nevada 11:42 P.M. she didn't get the gas put in her car til 6:14 A.M. trust me there's nothing fast nor affordable about this company, if you got stuck out there these will will extort you especially in the late night...I will be speaking to our state legislature about what they did lastnight something has to be done.​​ read more

Amazing service!! Roadtripping from Vegas to Sacramento and got a flat. The guys was very nice and easy to talk to. My car does not come with a replacement tire so he towed us to his shop and fixed it there. We were able to sit and relax in the air conditioning while he patched my tire up. I thought for sure we would have to spend the night in Tonopah, but we were back on the road in less than 30 mins. Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone read more

Our tow vehicle tire blew, and the rim was shot by the time we pulled over. We were towing a mini cooper with run flats, and I knew it would take time to find a tire. We were in a time crunch and I asked if we could leave the car until we were on the return leg of our journey, they took care of everything and pricing was extremely reasonable. The staff were very friendly and kind and kept me well informed. This place is in the middle of no where. We could have been easily gouged but no, they were honest fair and great to work with. This place is horrible 0 stars in my eyes my mom died in police custody and they towed her car in and I contacted them and told them I had power of attorney and last will and testament and car could only be released to me well after a 36 hour drive I showed up with all my paperwork and they released the vehicle to a known thief and now I cannot find my mom's belongings or car sad to say but my attorney will be handling this... Limped into Tonopah after a trailer brake failed and caught fire on a Sunday morning. Cal-Nevada Towing came to us at the campground and quickly repaired or replaced all the damaged wheel parts for a very fair price. Efficient and everyone was extremely pleasant and friendly to deal with. We really appreciated their can do attitude vs the oft-times "Let's just get you on the schedule and see how many parts we can manage to order and charge you for replacing". First of all Dave, Monica and Ramon...OUTSTANDING people. I was on my way to the San Francisco Bay Area for the Nascar race..and three miles from Tonopah My turbo fails...after frustrating call to AAA, I find out that they won't send a tow...But they transferred me to Cal-Nevada Towing and I was able to get towed the 3 miles to Tonopah. Dave The manager towed my excursion and my 25ft toy hauler, stopped by a local camping spot and I was able to get disconnected from my RV and and was at a near by the main tow yard...The bad news was that the mechanic wasn't on duty that day...SO I spent the night at Tonopah Station. The mech is the only licensed Mechanic with in the area and he is hesitant... So he agree's to replace the turbo after I offer a tip of $750 (...and I come by the next morning and sign the agreement and Dave (also the Manager) said what you do is up to you...but the tip is between you two. So the Mech say's it will take a couple of days, so I call my Son inlaw and he sent his Dad, to stay in Tonopah while I use his truck to tow my RV to Sonoma. And then him and his wife will stay at the hotel, and wait for my truck... The next Morning the Mech tells me he can start working on my Truck the following Monday. So I decided not to go to the race and my son-in-law's Dad and mom help me tow my RV back to Pahrump. The following Tuesday I call the Mech for a status, and he tell's me he's removed the turbo, but needs a new Y tube...and other parts. to finish the job. I called on Thursdays and asked for a status and he's not there that day..So Friday I find out that he still can't get parts. So I call my Son-in-law and he orders all the parts and have them drop shipped to the Mech. Now on Monday I call and again the Mech isn't there. Tuesday the mech tells me he has all the parts and should be running tomorrow. So I say then I can come up on Thursday? Yes. So I call Weds evening to make sure I can pickup my truck and the mech isn't there...I've left a message to have the mech call me...(every time he wasn't there I've asked for a call back...and he didn't call me once.) So I call Thursday morning and he's not sure the truck will start.but he's buttoning everything up and expects to test drive it later in the day.PLEASE CALL ME, because I have to rent a u-haul to get up there. If the truck isn't going to be ready....No phone call... I try calling right before closing (only towing is open 24 hours) and he's not there and Dave doesn't know the status. So I reserve a u-haul...interesting enough. Tonopah doesn't have a rental car company but they do have a u-haul so I can rent a u-haul truck one way... The u-haul company early rental available is 9:am, So I call Cal-Nav towing and SURPRISE...the Mech is there...But he says the truck isn't ready...Ok are you opened on Saturday...No, ok I'll come up on Monday..no it's a Holiday...So I say on Tuesday... Please call me tonight if the truck is ready, I have to pay over $200 dollars for a truck rental...no phone call So I call Tuesday...and he's not there...Monica the Asst Manager (great lady) tells me he out right now but should be returning soon. Please have him call me... He doesn't call...(from what the mech told me the next day he was test driving my truck) I call him and he says the truck will be ready. I ask him to call me before tomorrow morning if the truck isn't going to be ready... So I get ready on Wednesday morning, rent a U-haul and off I go So I arrive and my truck is at the Garage with the hood up. SO I walk in looking for the Mech and he's at lunch. He's at lunch and should be back soon. So I return the U-haul and return... Mech said I was taking it for a test drive and it was acting funny so Dave said shut it down. So cylinder number 6 isn't working and I can't figure it out. So I call my Son in-law and let him talk to the mech. SIL says a new wire harness. Mech says I'm not into electrical problems (even I know that it's not an electrical problem that the harness was burnt when the turbo failed The Mech tell's me that Dave said we would supply a complementary tow back to LV..ave comes out and I'll have to wait a couple of hours. She asked if the tow was going to be comp. no but let me pay for for the work...She asked Ramon, if he can tow me back to Pahrump and she discounts the tow to a solid $900. I take my truck to a diesel shop in Pahrump and the shop owner said to fix the other mech mistakes and get your truck work is a going to cost just under $4k dollars. My opinion Dave and Monica knew the mech capability and should have said no you're better off towing it home.. If Mech would have called me, I would have had my truck towed instead of renting a U-Haul... He just didn't believe in returning calls... I'm not one for getting one fired, but the Mech shouldn't be the head mech. And after hearing things around shop. The Mech needs more direct supervision remember the mech is a ambassador of the company... read more

Hit something in the road going from Las Vegas to Reno, I damaged a wheel and the air was leaking. I was able to get into Tonapah with 20 pounds in the tire. I arrived about 530 am, so I had to wait for Cal-Nevada to open to avoid a call out charge. There was very few options in that town, I didn't really know what I was in for. The technician that worked on my tire told me my wheel was cracked, so he put on the spare, it was snowing and cold, my damaged tire was all wet after looking for the leak, after the finishing up, he wasn't even going to charge me for all of his help . Of course I took care of him, but wow, that really blew me away, I highly recommend this company if you need emergency 24/7 assistance near Tonapah, NV. Nice people, and their dispatcher who I called at 6am was very helpful. read more

The worst service ever I been in trucking Business for 35 years had them towed truck too there shop find it's down the street unlocked dirt lot Dave calls tell me he can fix it for 500 dollars five weeks later no updates on bill me calling ever couple days he said was done now the bill 1000 go get truck now bill 1200 and my truck all patched up lines four foot long puts very expensive coupling instead of just replacing the whole 4 foot line half the price lady that was at counter was bitch she said we should've had it towed well I thought we was at a tow yard never again beware worst place read more

I was traveling through Tonopah from California to Las Vegas when I had a serious problem with leaking oil just outside of town. I made several calls on my way in and this was the only place recommended and maybe the only place in town that could help me. The service center was very busy but they were able to work me in, identify the problem and fix it in a very short time at a very reasonable price. I'm incredibly grateful for the help in getting me home safely. read more

Dave took great care of us in our dire time of need. 2 of our 6 trailer tires lost their tread in the middle of nowhere in Nevada. He was patient with us as we didn't know the exact location of where the wrecked bike was as it was dark and we had no service when the crash happened. The dispatch women was very kind as well and helpful in getting us connected with a driver and helping us plan for storage of the bike while on the rest of our road trip. This place is horrible. Made an appointment for a simple tire change. Been here three hours. Truck has been in the bay with the tire off and no one working on it for over an hour. Don't bring your business here head down the road. Go to Les Schwab in Fallon. Ive been to other places without an appointment and been in and out faster than this place . This place sucks. I would give it zero stars but there is no option. Still waiting. Its been 3.5 hours and I'm ready to leave and they put the wrong tire on the truck. Stupid. I ordered the same tire as the rest. We had the unfortunate experience of our transmission blowing 30 miles outside of Tonopah in the middle of the night. As a family of six with four small children ages 5 months to 8 years, this was Very frightening. Luckily we were blessed with the service of Cal-Nevada Towing. These guys are absolutely AMAZING! They not only transported our whole family to Tonopah, but dropped us off at Tonopah Station which is located within walking distance to their shop. Dave ordered our new transmission next business day and had us out of there in a week! He even worked on our truck during the weekend when they are usually closed just so our family could go home in time for the work week. Today was a horrifying day for me as a mom. My 17yo son rolled our car outside of tonopah. Jeff was the tow truck driver and was wonderful. We were three hours away so my son has to wait at the shop. Stranded on our motorcycle 40 miles outside Tonopah after riding through a sand storm. Jeff came to our rescue. Loaded the bike and tied it down right. No scratches or dents. He even made sure we got to call in an order for a meal before the restaurant closed. A very caring and thoughtful guy. Don't know what is wrong with the bike yet but he even offered to help us out with getting it repaired ...they repair vehicles also. Thank you Jeff for being such a great guy! You rock! read more

The tow truck driver (mechanic) showed up with the tow truck and after he got the truck set up to tow my motor coach he looked under my coach and said that it HAD to be towed. Said could not be fixed there. After getting a shop to say they could do the work (250 miles away) he towed it and did NOT replace all the parts he had removed. Upon the shop not doing the repairs because the tow truck driver told them it was a numerous job to fix. I found a mechanic that came to the coach and upon getting a new air valve (That the tow truck driver dismantled and kept some parts) replaced and was done in apx 4 hours. Tow bill $3185.00 I paid for a new valve, that was to replace the one that was short some parts and paid the mechanic $500.00 and was back on the road. I have asked that the least that the tow company could do was to pay for the part the tow company lost some of the parts too. $240.00 they said NO read more

Used to make Tonopah a regular stop on the way to Vegas. But we had a terrible experience with Cal-Nevada Towing. We had a flat tire headed home on Memorial Day weekend. Tire went flat in Tonopah. Called Cal-Nevada Towing and they wanted $265 just to LOOK at the tire, before any fixes or repairs! These guys are predatory. They thought we had no options and were going to make a killing. We limped into Hawthorn and had the tire repaired for $70. Don't go through Tonopah if you can help it. We'll never spend a dime in that town, ever. read more

Boy am I grateful for these guys, especially Keith. High-sided on a rock, my vehicle was immobilized just off Hwy 264. He arrived on time as stated and got right to work solving my problem. 45 minutes later I was back on the road. Yes, it's expensive to get help in remote locations and well worth it when you need it. Two things went my way in this very dangerous situation in the desert in late June. 1) My Verizon cell service was good and I had a battery back-up, and 2) Cal-Nevada towing solved my dilemma. Alternator quit on my way to Vegas, stuck on the side of the road 4 miles from Tonopah. My insurance company did not have a direct relationship with any tow company in the area. 6pm and it looks like I will miss my meeting in Vegas in the Morning. Called Cal-Neva, and they had a truck out in 20 minutes. Driver asks where to tow, and mentions they also have a repair facility. I decided to have them fix the car. We get to the shop and they still had a tech working to get another customer on the road. I was able to get a replacement vehicle to make it down to Vegas for my meeting. Dave the tech calls in the am and says it will be another day to get a replacement part, but was open to me bringing one from Vegas. Made it back to Tonopah at 6pm and they stayed late to get me back on the road home. While expecting a huge repair bill being stuck with limited options, it was actually cheaper than if I had the work done in Reno or Vegas. Thanks-they saved the day! read more
