The marocchino, a classic Milanese espresso beverage, similar to a macchiato, but served in a glass and sprinkled with cocoa powder, was not as i like it. Foam was too foamy and separated from the espresso rather than being velvety and incorporated in it. Anyway, I'm nitpicking, solid choice if you're in the area, but don't travel for it.

It was hot and muggy for September, as it stayed throughout our time in Milan, so the air-conditioning here felt wonderful. My wife and I ordered and then enjoyed a calm respite with our gelato in their back room that had a number of tables. While eating and gazing out the back window, we were educated in the perils of Milan pedestrians, seeing them gingerly cross a small side street with a blind corner as the scooters and motorcycles zipped by at full speed. We came back several times and the gelato was consistently marvelous with generous portions. Lots of choices with flavors that rotated, and the servers knew enough English that we could stumble through an order despite our inadequate Italian. We would go on to have gelato at every stop on our trip, but Oasi was the only one that was air-conditioned with a good amount of seating. Definitely one extra star for that. Their gelato as well would be in the top ranks of all those we visited.

First they use a traditional lever espresso machine as you would see in Napoli. Their beans are also roasted in Napoli. That is already a good start. The coffee guy knows his stuff and is happy to share his thoughts on how to best take a cup of coffee. They typically serve the espresso with a sweet cream smear in the cup made from coffee, sugar and a little milk. If you want just espresso, you should ask. they actually use a different bean if you want unsweetened straight espresso. Both are really good, just ask for what you want. Will definitely come back next time.
