We were introduced to Michele when I was interviewing a catering company. At the time, we had already decided on Greystone Mansion. Since Greystone Mansion is a large and historic property, I knew we would need to hire an experienced coordinator who was really familiar with the venue. Within a two week span, I interviewed 10 to 15 different wedding coordinators. I ultimately decided to go with Michele because she was transparent and incredibly generous about sharing her knowledge (the logistics of holding a wedding at Greystone) and creative ideas (we did not want a traditional wedding). Even on our initial call, we brainstormed the different layouts options and weighed the pros and cons of renting the interior of Greystone for our reception. I was very impressed with her knowledge of organizing a wedding at Greystone (the need for padding on the bottom of each chair leg) and logistical details of navigating such a large property (the time staff would need to move food between the kitchen, the prep area, and the guests). She is so creative. When we decided to hold our reception inside, Michele suggested a wonderful idea of decorating each room separately so that our guests would feel like they are guests in a beautiful home. We loved the idea and we are so glad that we held the reception inside. Our wedding day turned out to be the hottest day in recorded history for Los Angeles! She thinks of every detail. When she heard that I was tailoring my dress, she suggested that I ask my tailor to video how to pin up the bustle so she would be able to help me. We had almost 100 guests (including 10 kids). Michele helped us set-up a "kids activity room" for kids and guests to play geeky board games. She is very patient. I was very hands-on with the table seating arrangements. Michele was very patient and understanding. She had to make adjustments to the table rentals at the last minute to accommodate guest grouping changes. She's a superwoman! Michele knows everyone and assembled an amazing team. Make-up & Hair: We ended up going with both of Michele's recommendations for hair and makeup, both artists were hired for the wedding and one for our post-wedding photoshoot. DJ: We loved Michele's DJ. We had an initial conversation with the DJ, he got to know our quirky background and tastes (classic movies, opera, ballroom dancing, argentine tango). I can't tell you how many of our guests loved our DJ and the music. Michelle was absolutely right that he knows how to read the crowd! Florist: We trusted Michele and her florist to create the look that would fit our budget and match the space. I loved all of the floral arrangements. Videographer: Michele found us a videographer at the last minute because we wanted to capture the first dance and speeches. Catering & Bar: We decided to do buffet stations and a bar on the terrace. Several guests told me they loved the Salmon and the speciality cocktails. Cake: We went with Michele's recommendation for the cake (Triple Berry Cake from Sweet Lady Jane). So delicious! We sat down and discussed all the details we had envisioned. Vai took notes during the meeting and typed everything up and emailed it over. This was monumental. We finally had everything typed out so we can see all the elements we needed. Vai is phenomenal with staying on task and guiding us to solutions. I was offered a good deal on some chairs from our vendor and when I showed them to Vai she asked if we were curious about what was current. Yes yes yes So happy she has this knowledge because the chairs that she suggested were not only current but looked perfect. She has many years of experience planning events as well as plenty of visual references and visual inspiration images that suited our vibe. From flower arrangements to table dressing, wedding dresses to honeymoon destinations, djs wedding entertainment, catering ideas and all. Vai has you covered. Work started to get very hectic at the least opportune moments when the emails had to be sent out etc. Vai made herself completely available and would always make time to come by for a few hours so we could get the help we needed simply sending out the emails to the guests and checking in on our to do list. She kept us sane on stressful days by being diligent and kind working efficiently and being thorough. She had spreadsheets filled with information and everything was always extremely organized and clear. Vai handled contacting all our vendors and made sure everything would run smooth day of. She suggested her assistant also help out day of and we were so thankful because it was so nice to have someone tending to both of us keeping us on time and making sure we were where we needed to be when we needed to be there. Vai has such a lovely presence. She warmly invites people to take their seats or join us for our first dance during all events through the day into the evening she was amazing. She was like a mind reader I would think "oh I need a straw" and she would literally be right behind me handing me one.
