Today we had time to stop and enjoy the atomic coffee ourselves. What to eat ?? Such a beautiful range of healthy and treat style food. Parking was a challenge however this was overcome by driving around the block. Staff were so helpful and next time we are tempted to buy some of the pre - cooked meals as they look excellent.

Located at the quieter end of the Herne Bay shops, her new deli is a welcoming affair. The counter cabinet burts full of meats, sandwiches, French toast and salads. The fridges entice hungry eyes with Lewis Road milk, Kapiti cheeses and French pate. The freezer holds the vestiges of Jess's previous venture - it's so good to see she has not given up on her takeaway dinners. A notice board in the corner announces daily specials (regular and paleo - it is Herne Bay, after all!) and smoothies. My croque monsiuer with its perfect cape of bechamel and drawer of grainy mustard could easily have been sourced from the backstreets of Paris. The toasted banana bread was a gooey, chewy, fluffy mouthful of childhood goodness. My only suggestion for improving this comfort zone is to invest in some proper cutlery and crockery. Cutting into toasted fare with picnic wear and drinking coffee out of paper cups does detract a tad from the romance of what it otherwise a very sweet new affair.

As a lover of all three, there was no turning back after discovering this place. Their cake pops are delactable, mouth-watering and oftentimes just too cute to eat! Sophie from Cake Pop Kitchen also helped me out with a recent Valentine's Day order for my partner. She was lovely, super helpful and the end product was exactly what I wanted. I've only tried the red velvet and double chocolate so far, but CPK offers a selection of flavours (including Reese's peanut butter), as well as custom cake pops if you fancy angry birds, ninjas or have your own design in mind. If you're after a gluten-free option, don't fret- they cater fot that too! While they only have one store in Auckland, they deliver nationwide, so no one has to miss out. Whether its a treat for you or a friend, be sure to visit the store and see the deliciousness for yourself.

Sharing the store with a cupcake shop, it was a baker's heaven. Not being from the North Shore I didn't particularly know the area very well, however putting the address into a GPS does the trick and gets you there perfectly (even though it may seem like you're getting lost in a residential area). The cake pops were very well presented and had quite a range to choose from. I had a chocolate raspberry cake pop and it was delicious! I was worried it would be quite hard, but it was lovely and moist with no signs of being over cooked. The cake pops are roughly $4 each. They also cater and would make a perfect birthday cake alternative for children. There is also a gluten free option. A win win situation. I chose to have the lemon and yoghurt bombe alaska that was fantastic. The right amount of sweetness and tartness. There was a bit of confusion that kind of spoiled our experience as we also ordered the passion fruit and peach chocolate bon bon and was only told after the dish arrived that the passion fruit and peach were only available as shards, which was eight dollars more. We would have appreciated the waitress explaining that some of the chocolates came as shards and the others as bon bons, so we felt like we were tricked into ordering something. The cookie dough macaron was good but didn't remind us of cookie dough, more of a chocolate macaron. We left wanting a lot more from our experience chocolate- and pastry-wise.

It has a crispy lemony coating over a frozen yogurt middle, finished off with stripes of meringue on the top. It all case together so well! The cookies and cream rocher was also very delicious. It was topped with edible gold, had a crunchy cookies and cream outer layer before you hit a velvety chocolate mousse later. Finally, the inside had bits of cookie. It sounds very sweet and sickly but was pleasantly well balanced. I wish they had a Milse where I'm from! Actually maybe not, or else I'd be so broke.
