It was a horrible experience with this bakery and I would leave zero stars if I could. They lost the tasting notes and called the bride 72 hours before the wedding to see if she would provide pictures and the flavors again...this was over 3 months after the tasting. They left the cake at the venue without speaking to anyone on site. Probably because of embarrassment at the shoddy design and the unfinished look with the WRONG colors in the flowers, it didn't even match the cake! It took two weeks to even hear from the owner after several phone calls, messages and email. The email offered no accountability or resolution. it was a HORRIBLE experience and the cake was dense and overdone! SHAME! read more

Butter pecan ice cream in a waffle cone!! Delicious on a warm June day. Hubby had salted caramel in a waffle cone. Walked into here because the sign on the front window said "chocolate". We didn't see any chocolate anywhere but decided to try their cupcakes. The cupcake was good but very tiny for the price. It was $3.50 for a very tiny cupcake. The size is deceiving in my photo, they were very small. They were about 4 bites! It seemed to be more of a ice cream store than anything else. Well, that was a total waste of time. Shake was not any good and customer service seems to mirror what others have reported in previous post. Maybe one day when people learn to be polite, they will deserve to be a successful business in Lakeland. Made to feel unwelcome. Thw ice cream and cake was great! I got Chocolate Brownie and my boyfriend got the Strawberry Cheesecake. Mine was great but his tasted a little freeze burnt. The only size you can get 2 flavors is a large. I don't remember the size I got but it was 2 scoops and I'm not sure why it was limites to 1 flavor. We took. Chocolate dulce de leches cake home. Customer service outstanding! No other baker/bakery in Polk County would even entertain making a soy-free cake (since Deli delicacies closed).Not only was this cake a work of art is was absolutely delicious! Red velvet was perfect. Very moist and flavorful. Everyone at the party and at work love this cake. I have let them know how they went out of their way to ensure it was right and about how rude the other bakeries were to talk too! I bought a piece of cake and a crème horn. Both had to be over a month old. The cream was sour like it had spoiled. The cake was crunchy. I noticed the unfriendly attitude of the people working but was hoping the bakery items would taste good. I didn't read the reviews prior to going but completely agree about the rudeness and attitude of the people working not sure if they were the owners or not. Save yourself some time and money and skip this one ! I can't imagine trusting them with a wedding or special event. I wish I could give zero stars but it won't let me. read more

My experience is a little different from previous posts. I find the owners very friendly and will consult with you with whatever cake design you want. He will do it. He made my kids cakes for their birthday in 2019. They were perfect. His cakes are gorgeous and good! He left me disappointed with my last visit in 2020. I am not sure if I will return this year. My daughter's cake was not baked thoroughly. He said the cake was just extra moist. I beg to differ (see pic). The cake was not done. Also, he did not execute the design as expected and he forgot to do the cake topper but did it last minute (which I had to return to the bakery at a later time to get) , it was very tiny and melted on the way to the party. I had to stop at Party City and improvised. I was very disappointed because his cakes are not cheap. He did refund me the whole cost but asked me to come in to discuss the cake, I declined. I am recently a lakeland local. Shopping locally is a big priority. I have walked in here twice. Both times had terrible customer service because of what seemed to be a pretend language barrier. Tonight, we parked in their spot unbeknownst to us, 30 minutes b4 closing time. Im a respectable, considerate person. Instead of a nice paper note under my wiper; they stuck a paper sticker centered in my drivers side window. It wouldnt come off. These people are just rude. I will never support thier business. In my country, we practice manners. I expect nothing less from everyone else. read more

Listen, I don't like to be negative all the time about businesses I visit, but it's true what they say "a negative experience is far more memorable". I had one here at the Cake Makers Studio. The guy behind the counter made me feel like I was bothering him or making him miss an episode of Game of Thrones. I didn't feel welcomed. When you're charging me $5 bucks for a cup of ice cream, I expect to be served with a smile, Is that asking for too much? Instead you mocked me a bit, because I didn't know which ice cream was which (your label sucked), then you rolled your eyes....you're lucky I paid and didn't walk out. RUDE RUDE RUDE and so disappointing!!! The owner asked me to meet her at specific time to talk about cake options for a birthday cake. When I arrived, the door was locked (even though past opening time listed on the door and website) and after continuous knocking, the decorator came from the back. I explained what I needed and thankfully she helped. The owner came in about an hour later and didn't even acknowledge me and when I mentioned our appointment she just said was busy. Decided to take a chance on another cake but wanted to talk directly to the decorator. Was told that I could not and could only order something off the website. I tried to explain that just a few weeks before I had ordered something specific and asked to speak to the owner. Again, told that I could not and then hung up on me. Tried calling back several times and nobody picked up the first four time and the final time they picked up and slammed the phone down. Don't go unless you like horrible customer service and rude people. If you're looking for a decorator, hire theirs. read more

Gelato a little gummy, no fresh tasting. Lady possibly owner very unpleasant as though serving us was way to much trouble.

If you want the best, Cake Makers Studio is the place! They take pride in making sure you get exactly what you imagine. and the taste is on par with the final results, a must for Weddings and special events. read more
