I heard great things about this place. It's incredibly close to home and very convenient. I usually…read morealways go with the red curry and then the pad thai before working my way through the menu.....The spring rolls were simple and basic, like every other place I've had them , not overly greasy and smelling of everything else that was cooked in the oil fortunately. I don't usually go for the shrimp which is standard in a lot of places around here. I love shrimp, but when you cook it in some kind of curry, it usually gets over cooked and stringy - hard to avoid. The same can be said of any meat really, but the chicken in the red curry was cooked to perfection. Surprisingly, it was tender and not over cooked and tough. I'm optimistic that they can pull off the shrimp. We shall see... This place is very small, with only 8 or 9 tables - not a bad thing - cozy and quaint with faux leather table cloths and wicker chairs. It's dated, and the carpets need to go, but clean and orderly. They're getting some competition right down the street, and I'm curious to see how that plays out in the coming months. For all I know, half the places I review in Cleethorpes will be out of business in a year. Some cities are like that, especially holiday destinations - massive turnover. This place has been here a while. There has to be a reason.

My son had the 7 pepperoni which was overflowing with topping and my other half had the prawn skewers with rice which looked amazing. The cost was reasonable but the food was restaurant standard so that compensated for it a lot. The food arrived in 25 mins and the driver was polite and friendly. The food was well packaged, the prawn skewers also came wrapped inside a seperate bag. Overall, it was probably the best takeaway I have eaten.

It was good value considering that duck is included in the price. Usually you say extra for the duck course in some restaurants. The only downside was you got exactly what was on the menu, you didn't get to choose your main course from a selection. So if nobody liked the mixed Chinese seasonal veg, you couldn't change it for anything else Overall though the food was nice, hot and the service was good. Having walked past a handmade burger in different places, I was excited to finally try it, because…read morewhat's not to like, burgers, chips and fizzy pop?! After having a good look through the menu, there was one burger than caught my eye (well 3 burgers in fact!), the beef burger sliders! A selection of 3 mini burgers, which adds up to slightly above their standard sized burger, with handcut chips. The downside being, you have to order the chips as a side order, rather than it being part of the burger. Maybe my mind was pre-blown by the idea of hand made burgers, I was disappointed that my sliders weren't as nice as how my imagination made it out to be. Maybe it was expectation? Size of the burger pattie? My burgers were overcooked, and not juicy in the centre. The chips were ok, abit floppy and greasy, but I'm more of a fries person. I'd have to make another trip for their other burgers (possibly another branch in a different place), before I pass judgement on Handmade Burger, but until then, it was just OK!
