You can visit a floor with artists hand painting individual pieces - no talking in this section; don't disturb the artists. Built by an entrepreneur in the 1820's the complex includes factory, workers housing, school, fire department, a beautiful church. The entire property is fantastic, and the museum itself is even better. Be prepared for the gift shop, it is stunning and priced accordingly. Actually there is also a wholesale shop for the more standard tableware.

I would of given 5 stars but there was major construction outside the apartment for the whole duration of our trip. And it was very loud and started VERY early in the morning. They have a legit pizza oven and a nice selection to choose from. They are doing a Neapolitan crust but their toppings were a bit heavy so the crust got soggy. Still good but soggy. The francesinha was delicious and I liked the spicy sauce. It wasn't spicy to me but it was tasty. The service was pretty good and that is saying something in Portugal. It is certainly a reasonable option in Aveiro.
